March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

Thought I would just check in with a quick Hello and to save us from page 3:scared1:

Since weather seems to be the days topic.... I will chime in with the weather in Western Nebraska....I can pretty much sum it up in 1 word COLD:cold: I think the high today was like 10...not as cold as some places I know, but definitely cold enough for me!! We did get some snow but don't enough for a snow day with school, dang it!!

Johnna just read your post on facebook so this is for you:cake: :)

I did do the on line check in today, so that is one more (small) thing off my list to do, I think everything (other than packing UHGG) is in order...airline tickets (southwest), car rental (budget), motel night before (raddison) etc etc...... I just got to thinking today that I did not get any trip insurance, I honestly forgot all about it :confused3 this is the first time I have not had it..so hopefully everything works out :)

What did everyone else do about insurance??? I'm thinking that I can still do it, should check into it I guess.

Thanks for the cake!!! Too bad I can't eat it right off the screen. :lmao::lmao:

Everyone - I just emailed the updated spreadsheet. Let me know if you have any questions/corrections.

Mic.keyfan - I need your email so I can send it to you.

I forgot a FUNNY dream I had last night! Although some could consider it a nightmare....

I dreamt that we showed up at the ship (which, for some reason wasn't the Disney ship... but anyway...) and my husband packed for me! But... all he packed was.... 3 shirts and a casual skirt! No bathing suit, no formal dress, and worst of all... NO SHOES! :scared1::scared1::scared1: (Yes, the no shoes part is scarier to me than the fact he forgot all the...ahem... unmentionables!) :lmao:

So you can see how I woke up in a cold sweat! :rotfl:

Anyway... just had to share. I'm sure that the subliminal message is to pack more lightly than I tend to (I'm an overpacker to be sure!), but still.... three shirts and one skirt... C'mon. Really? How's a girl supposed to survive a 7 day cruise with that! :confused3:rotfl:

Now I'm going to get back to work!
Ciao for now!!!

I am in Northern CA. I am so excited their are families that have the same age kids as we do going on the same excursions! Really glad there is another 5 year old that will be on the furry. My son is going to love that!

Brrrrr!!!! I don't know how you mid/north westerners do it. I'm freezing here in, TECHNICALLY the south (south of the mason dixon line anyway) when it's 20 degrees out ... so -11 would literally kill me. Kill. Me. Dead.:faint:

We "might" get a snowstorm here in your nation's capital this week... but that's what they said on Christmas and all the snow went to NYC that time... so we'll see....:rolleyes1

I got your PM, and one from kimberlyelayne, so I'll update the spreadsheet tomorrow and circulate the updated one to everyone.

Thanks!! How do stay so organized????? I have trouble just keeping track of which kid has what sport on what night!:scared1: AND thought you'd like to know that it is warmer today...a whopping 25 degrees! Feels great (sort of):confused3

Minne"snow"ta
"Snow"-maha

You kids are killing me. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I opened up a can of worms on my FB status today. I typically avoid political debates there and didn't intend one, but it evolved. Ahhhh... the wonders of social media. :surfweb:

So I'm here for my daily check-in and to cool down... thanks for the chuckle... I needed it. :goodvibes

Still planning to update the spreadsheet and circulate sometime today; if that doesn't happen, it will be tomorrow.

Ciao for now, Johnna

Can't say as I care much for politics, I try to avoid it like the plague...It's usually my dear old mother that trys to ruffle my tail feathers with it!:rolleyes1 Glad I could help with the cool down process! We'll have to try and come up with a "cool" nick name for DC....ANY IDEAS? (Weather related that is:goodvibes)

We did purchase the insurance, just because it's a cruise! (Don't usually worry about it just going to WDW) I am still awaiting passports, so that I can include that info when I do the online check in.
We got our airfare on Sunday night...It just keeps climbing,:sad2: and a report came out today that it is going to continue to climb, and not go down for a while!
We fly out with Delta on the 3rd (that afternoon) staying at POP that night then heading to the CI&S Friday morn to hang in Cocoa Beach until cruise time on Saturday. The best air we could find and the most economical was flying home on Monday the 14th! So we decided to go to WDW (yeah us:banana:)after disembarking. we're staying at POR Saturday-Monday.:woohoo:Pretty sure MK is a for sure thing on Sunday!!:cheer2:

Thanks!! How do stay so organized????? I have trouble just keeping track of which kid has what sport on what night!:scared1:

Don't give me too much credit... you've never seen my office. :rotfl: Luckily being at the computer all day helps - I use my electronic calendar for work, and Mark and I share one for the home activities. It has actually saved our marriage at times. :lmao:

AND thought you'd like to know that it is warmer today...a whopping 25 degrees! Feels great (sort of):confused3

Woo-hoo!! We're waiting for snow, but I guess we'll dodge another bullet today/tonight - they are only calling for up to 4 inches. I bet the kids will be off tomorrow, which they, of course, would LOVE, but would screw up my day/work schedule totally! :sad2:

Same place and I just came in minutes ago.... The gage on the car said it was -14 right now. So we must have enot climbed veery far today to fall back down. :scared1: I had to run out because DD broke the zipper on her coat which her seamstress mom could not fix. So off to buy another coat it was... I tell you, we really pay out of the butt for living here sometime.

When we cruised the Western, we actually went at a different time of the year, but we have cruised the Eastern a couple of times during this same week. Thye weather is usually upper 80's. Like 88 and very beautiful. What part of Cali are you in... My family is from there.

YUCK!! No wonder I couldn't warm up at all that day...being in a cold arena didn't help either! Any chance that coat was a Zero Exposure coat? Both of my boys have had terrible luck with that brand (zippers always break) Now I try to get Columbia's at the end of the season for the following year! It's really hard to find warm jackets so late in the season!

I think I sent it... Maybe it didn't work:confused:

I spent a good part of my childhood in Virginia Beach, VA. I remember what would happen when it snowed! Here, it has to be a blizzard, white out conditions for school or anything to close!

HI!
Well I am a newbie to this site...well actually not really to the site, as I have looked at it briefly a few other times - but tonight - finally registered and found this thread!:cool1:

I am so excited....less the 52 days until we set sail! This will be DH & I's 2nd cruise. It will be DS very first one! He just turned 4 on Sunday! We are also traveling with my parents, and my SiL and her 2 DS (10 & 6)!

We are flying in on Saturday morning (very early) and should be at the terminal by 11am or before!

Aside from the excursions, and ship activities - what else can I participate in? I have heard about the door decorating, meet and greets, etc.....

So basically I am looking for some cool people that my DH & SiL and I can hang out with maybe one night, etc....

Sorry for my rambling....but I have just got a sudden burst of excitement as the trip is nearing quicker and quicker!

Hope to hear from someone(s) soon!

Well let me be the first to welcome you and your family :welcome::welcome:

Let me see if I can answer some of your questions.....First of all, the always fun Dis meet and greet, this gives us a chance to but faces to the names on our meet thread, as well as to be able to see familiar faces during the week...in our past cruise's, this is usually set up sometime between lunch and the life boat drill in the Promenade Lounge .

Johnna Story..our Fearless Leader of this group (as well as a Jersey girl ;) ) has set this up for us in the past, and has ALWAYS done such a GREAT job, so I think that we will let her chime in on the time and location again this year:thumbsup2

Hanging out....I don't know if we meet your standards of cool people:cool2:(LOL) but... we always look forward to meeting up at least 1 or 2 of the nights with others Diser's for drinks, and you know what they say.... the more the merrier!!!!!! :thumbsup2

SO again welcome:flower3:
And yes, the date is getting closer!!! Can't wait:cool1:
