March 5, 2011 - Bushwacker Wild Wild Westerners

For those that have gone this time of year. What is the weather like?? I live in cali. Hoping for some warm weather... it is 45 outside right now! brrrrr

Hi everyone! Here is my families plans
our 5yr old will be too young. So he will be on the ship. Then taking a taxi to 7 mile beach pick up 5yr old to join.
Palo dinner at night
Cozumel - Fury snorkling!

Hi Kimberly,

I have a 5 yr old DS who will also be on the Fury. It looks cool.

Who are you doing the dolphin swim and turtle farm through?

I have been to xcaret twice it is awesome;) You are right It is far and so much to do in one day you will not get to see it all especially with kids

We're doing the excursion through DCL. The mid-morning excursion was already all booked up, so we're doing the 7:15am one.

You are all terrible influences on me!!!! LOL...after reading everyone's excursions, I started doing more research and changed my plans. We are also doing the Dolphin Extreme Swim and Turtle Farm (at 11:15) on GC and the Fury on Cozumel. See all of you there!

Wooo whooo... See ya there.... well at Fury anyway. My 10yrd daughter is excited that someone her age will be there! We are doing the early early dolphin so we will have time to go to 7 mile beach after.

Woooo whoooo! Okay found the promo code for Radison!!!!! CARLSONF

Rooms are $80

Or Suite for $109:dogdance:

Thanks!!!!! I just tried it and got the $80 rate as well....had booked some time back for a rate of $125, so that is a savings of $45!!!!:banana:

Thanks again for sharing:)

Ok, so I have been MIA right???:confused3 I want to first say :welcome: to anyone that I have missed. I am sorry... It is just that several times of the year between work and basketball my family gets sooo busy that I run out of computer time. Plus I have become such good friends with some of the DISers here that we communicate outside of the DIS Boards, so I sometimes do not get to the thread. Well with the 2 month countdown underway and that the shopping has begun, I will now try to get here most days.
I just have so much catch up to do...:upsidedow Well, here is a :flower3: to make up for being a sucky friend...

Thanks Lady Story for the DIS List... I will now need to study it so that I can pair names with usrnames and see who my kids need to get in contact with.

As I have said in the past, it is soooo nice when the kids are in touched before the cruise. Of all our cruises, the ones they emailed and chatted with prior to the cruise was SUPER. The kids hopped on the ship and it was like they had known each other a life time!!! Since then they are still friends and we are now hooked in sailing together... Now if we can just work on the two of ours with an arrange marriage; heh BJ???:lmao:

Mine: DD is 9 (3rd grade) and DS is 13 (7th grade). So let's get them talking...

Lady Story (Gloria).... Where is Mark? Did you book our Palo brunch? Message me on FB. Oh my... Driving??? That is really smart of you. We could not as it takes too long. That should save a few pennies though. Especially since you know the car is great this time...

D even though you are in Mickey World, tell Russ he has to come back and get his Village People Outfit together.:lmao:

Well for many of you who do not know.... The Tink family is a last minute family... We do not have our flight tickets yet as we usually wait until mid January (which is now).... We never make a lot of excursion plans as we like to bum around.... This is the reason I enjoy cruising... A far less Rambo feeling than the parks...

So far we are booked for dinner, but that is it. We will rent floats on CC but will not do that until the ship. We may head to the 7 mile beach but have yet to think about it...

BJ; I have not heard from MicDay. I was coming here to actually ask you. I was wondering what the story is. Final Payment has been made and we have not even heard what they are doing about school. I will go and message her on FB. Maybe one of us should call. Thought I would have heard from them after Potter came out; but have not. I sure hope they are still coming... We have to have the entire Bushwacker Gang... Plus the DH connection was nice. Hey BJ... my DH wants to know if you still have the picture of 'the little spoon'? :lmao: I am a little worried...

All~ Looks as if everyone is booked at the Raddison but the Tink Family... I am starting to feel left out.:sad1: BJ & Family with Lady Story & Family always have stayed there the night before together. I felt left out then, but now feel really left out...:snooty: We use DCL transportation so that we can use the ship check in, so we have never stayed at port. Plus we usually arrive late the night prior. We let the kids go to at least a half day of school on Friday.

Ok, I guess I have some reading to do to catch up of who is who....:teacher::laundy:

The Radisson must have changed the promo. Not working for me.

:headache:

Well, we went on the Eastern for 7 days in 2008 this same week. The weather was good, calm seas and sunshine. Nice for the pool, snorkeling and such. However, it was really windy heading back to the Bahamas (45 knots winds) so the Captain tried 4 times to get into Castaway Cay but it wasn't safe enough to dock. (Plus, I was thinking that we were going to get sand burn from all the wind.) Instead, Disney gave everyone an onboard credit and had a really nice deck party in a sunny location. Since we didn't get to go to Castaway Cay in 2008, it motivated us to do a Double Dip in 2009. We really liked that cruise.:thumbsup2

Nice to find out that are several more DIS families that are going to be on the Fury Beach Day in Cozumel. I gotta remember to buy a waterproof camera. The boys love it when I get their pictures in the water.:dance3:

Hope everyone is keeping warm. It has been freezing here in Chicago the last couple of days.

REALLY looking forward to warmer temps! We are sitting here today waiting to see how much of an impact the southern winter storm has on us. popcorn:: We don't get major winter weather systems often, so there isn't much equipment to work with!

We are staying at Country Inn and Suites Friday night. Still planning to hang on the ship most of the time, but I see everyone's excursions and it makes me want to go! We'll have plenty of time for that when the girls get a bit older (and Arianna becomes less afraid of the water!).

Hope everyone has a great week!

Brrrrr!!!! I don't know how you mid/north westerners do it. I'm freezing here in, TECHNICALLY the south (south of the mason dixon line anyway) when it's 20 degrees out ... so -11 would literally kill me. Kill. Me. Dead.:faint:

We "might" get a snowstorm here in your nation's capital this week... but that's what they said on Christmas and all the snow went to NYC that time... so we'll see....:rolleyes1

I got your PM, and one from kimberlyelayne, so I'll update the spreadsheet tomorrow and circulate the updated one to everyone.

Same place and I just came in minutes ago.... The gage on the car said it was -14 right now. So we must have enot climbed veery far today to fall back down. :scared1: I had to run out because DD broke the zipper on her coat which her seamstress mom could not fix. So off to buy another coat it was... I tell you, we really pay out of the butt for living here sometime.

When we cruised the Western, we actually went at a different time of the year, but we have cruised the Eastern a couple of times during this same week. Thye weather is usually upper 80's. Like 88 and very beautiful. What part of Cali are you in... My family is from there.

Hope you don't mind, but i'm going to borrow that from you. We officially have a snow day here in "snow"maha. We also booked the Fury and are doing the 7:17 a.m. Dolpin Extreme with at least 1 of you.

"Snow"-maha

You kids are killing me. :lmao::lmao::lmao:

I opened up a can of worms on my FB status today. I typically avoid political debates there and didn't intend one, but it evolved. Ahhhh... the wonders of social media. :surfweb:

So I'm here for my daily check-in and to cool down... thanks for the chuckle... I needed it. :goodvibes

Still planning to update the spreadsheet and circulate sometime today; if that doesn't happen, it will be tomorrow.

Ciao for now, Johnna
