March 31-April 7, 2007 Eastern...3rd try :-)

Buy the Passporters book on the cruise. (or if truly budget issue -- it's probably at your local library).

It's really the best way to get the complete scoop on the trip. Also, I believe there are some threads at the beginning of the Disney Cruise stuff (not down here on 'meets') that go over some basics. And most importantly, don't sweat it --- it's so easy.

Only suggestion I do have is make sure you have your papers in order. We got our passports last year (literally was down to the wire last day before cruise :scared: ). It's too late now to get these on normal turn around, and I think (THINK -- others help me here) you may not need them yet as I think the U.S. extended the deadline. So then you need Birth Certificate (needs a raised seal on it) and Drivers license. If you don't have these you can usually get them pretty quickly from your records department in the state where you were born.

If i see some of those threads I mentioned I will send to you in a private message.

Okay, I just booked this cruise for myself (Jessica, 29), my bf (Ian, 35), and my daughter (Halley, 6 but will turn 7 the week after the cruise). We are from PA, and will be driving down (airlines overbooked and expensive on this short of notice). We have a guanteed category 12 inside stateroom (we are on a bit of a budget). This will be my daughters and my first cruise. I would love to know as much as possible, but don't have a great deal of time to read through the entire thread... any advice, info, ideas you are willing to share would be greatly appreciated. I am also hoping to find others who have children in the same age bracket, as I would love for Hal to have friends to play with the the Oceaneer's club. Finally, I will mention that I get seasick... but I really, really want to be able to enjoy myself. Any suggestions for the best remedy, pill, or device to help with this? Thanks in advance!

Weclome aboard....we have a DS6 who will be in the Oceaneers Club I'm sure. He loves the ladies so I'm sure he will meet your daughter as some point :flower3:

Don't have any advice on seasick meds, but there is a lot of options. Everything from stuff you can take weeks in advance to straps and braclets.

We are actually in Mout Penn, about 2 minutes outside of Reading. I used to live in Lancaster, at Bentley Ridge. It was for about a year, and it was great! I hope our daughters will get to meet, as well as the dpuck's son. She doens't even know about the cruise yet... She can be a little shy at first, but I am sure she will open up. I also hope she enjoys the club... I have gotten mixed reviews.

Welcome Jessica!!! Go back about 7 posts (On Pg. 16) and you will see two posts full of info and helpful hints. It talks about the events for young ones, the pillowcase signing they do (free)

Later today when I have more time I will post links for you to a page with a 53 page word document that will tell you everything plus a thread full of tips. I have those bookmarked at home.

As for seasick.
1) get some generic medication (dramamine) from Target or Wal-mart and take it right before you go to the drill (your muster station) My husband has found this helps him out and he avoids seasickness.

You can get Seabands (Target sells them) They are wristbands with pressure points. My DH wears them the entire first day as well.

Lastly, the old remedy for morning sickness. At dinner if you are feeling a bit queasy drink water with lemon to help calm your stomach.

Oh my gosh, Mt. Penn! I went to Kutztown and did my student teaching with Jane Quaintance back in 1994. I wonder if she's still teaching there. What a wonderful little school!

My dd is very outgoing and hopefully they will get along great! :) So glad there will be some little people just her age. I'm so excited!

Here is something that we did last November for all the young ones in our group and worked so well we are doing it again this March.

I know you can buy packages or gift baskets, but they are expensive so here is what we did.

Got a bag and attached a little card I made on Photoshop that said Captain Mickey welcomes________aboard.

The bag was full of stuff that I picked up cheap at Target, the dollar store, or living close to disney I have a place to get Disney Merchandise cheap. It had an autograph book, a pen for the book, a journal type book, little things that could be brought to dinner or played with in the stateroom, lipstick(kids lipgloss), shovel, hair clips etc. I put the whole bag together for under $10. While the men folk played with kiddies by the pool we all went down to the staterooms decorated the doors and put the bags inside on the bed. Then went to get the kiddos.

For Pirate night we did the same thing. I got Pirate gift bags from Walmart birthday section. Sinc eI got everything 75% off after halloween the bags and goodies cost 2.00 each. They had glow bracelets (which we connected and made the glow necklace for the pirate party), stickers, pirate skull, scary glasses, skull glow in the dark pin, halloween colore pencils. I kept them hidden in the stateroom and then took them to the dining room when they were setting up the tables. We had 4 kids in our group last time and placed them on the table (I talked to our servers the night before) and the kids were thrilled with their gifts from pirate stitch.

If I get a chance at home today I will try to post the pictures of the door and the goodie bag.

Just another idea for those on a budget, but want to still do some of these things.

I agree, the Passporter is great source for info! My kids were in the teen club and Oceaneer's Lab last time and both had great, fun times!!! Many times we didn't see them all day, they were so busy. My DD#2 was alittle shy at first but then made a great friend that she still emails to and that was from meeting in summer of 2005. The other board has loads of info also and if you don't see something just ask and I'm sure you'll get a answer super fast.
Almost time to cruise!!!!!! :yay:

I do not believe I have your info on our cruise list. Would you like to be added?

We were able to get extra excited when we got a phonecall from some CM friends on the Wonder. It was a semi-sad call though. It was to tell us that two of our friends are coming back from vacation, but were reassigned to the Wonder. One starts today and the other in three weeks. We are sad that we will not be sailing with them, but we love the 7 day too much to switch to the wonder.

I started working on our door signs. I made a list and looks like we will have 15. DD likes to get up in the morning and change the signs.

Here is what I made for our day one as our Bon Voyage sign. I am not sure it is complete yet, we do not know our room number yet.

That means we all have only one month left to finish planning and get our stuff together. And finish door signs.

Several of us have Palo ressies. Do you want me to add that info to our list?

Also we need to try and plan a DISmeet and a way to tell us from all the others.

I am not sure if many plan on wearing either the DISgreen or the green mickey heads from homedepot.

I am fairly sure I will be wearing my green tinkerbell shirt and my barette that I made with Disney fabric and the green mickey head.

I am sure I am forgetting plenty.

Just checked w/ Disney on whether they had assigned our GTY room yet (Cat 6). In the past it's always been assigned about a month ahead (so our tags have the room number). But, apparently it isn't right now....

The rep said it's usually done by now and that this means it may not be done until we check in. That kind of makes me nervous that they are overbooked.

Anyone have experience with this? Has Disney ever 'overbooked'?
