ok ok... and a bad speller:sad2:

I think we have to much time on our hands tonight Brenda, if we keep this up, we might get in trouble with the MODS.:surfweb: :surfweb: who diligently seek out troublemakers.

Thanks for the quick response. How do you sign up for brunch as mentioned? I looked at Palo a few weeks ago and it showed fully booked. Brunch and Dinner.

I may have missed the chance for that or it could be that someone a block of seats?

First of all, let me be the first to welcome you and your family!!!!!:welcome:

This is only our 2nd cruise, the first being a 3 day, so I am far from a seasoned cruiser, but will attempt to answer some of your questions....

We only have DD's (disney daughter) ages 10 & 13... no boys... sorry

As far as a suit goes, from what I have read, is perfectly fine!!!! On the 3 day cruise we only had semi-formal night... So DH (disney husband:) ) wore dockers w/ tie....

Kids club...again, didin't do them much, just cuz there wasn't much time for us to take advantage of it...but my DD's are really looking forward to it this time. From everything I have read, the kids love the clubs, as do the parents...

You probably read, that we are all planning to meet prior to setting sail...this is still in the works, so stay tune:surfweb: There is also a Palo brunch planned as well, I think that there is still room for 3 adults, so maybe you and your DW (disney wife:thumbsup2 ) would be interested in that.. I think Michael's Mom is taking care of that ressie.. Palo Restraunt, is quite popular. you do need resservations to eat there.

I'm sure you have alot more questions..just keep reading these boards, I have learned quite abit from them. And as you have already seen, we have a great group sailing with us!!!!!!

Brenda:)

I believe Melissa, aka, Michaels_mom, is doing another group brunch. PM her. If you don't know how, reply back and I will walk you through it.

I am not sure where Grills is. At WDW? or near the port. We are travelling to the ship Saturday morning from WDW. If you are at WDW then we would be happy to learn more if we are not with Grandma (she is visiting florida but not on the cruise)

:welcome: Welcome to the group Hart, Susan, and William. I sent a PM to you with some of the answers.

Yes, from what I hear, a suit is fine.

Are you early or late dining?

Even though you are staying at WDW, any way we can convince you to come by Friday Night to Grills for the Pre-Cruise Meet??

Thanks for the quick response.

We are a lively group, I hope you dont take the time to read everything on all 46 pages that we have posted. You might be here until we cruise since some of us have been here a LONGGG LONGGGG TIME :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass :hourglass .
But we have fun party:

Grills is a restaurant in Port Canaveral or Cocoa Beach. The port is about an hour's drive from WDW. We are doing a pre-Cruise meet there Friday night for dinner and whatever. We will probably have to move our planned meet from Indea88's stateroom to Diversions on Saturday. The consensus is to start it around 2:30 PM or whenever people get there after boarding, eating and finding staterooms.

I will have a few magnetic signs up, I hope. I will still use the ones I made for having it in Andie's stateroom.

I thank people for the PMs. Not being rude but apparently I can not send PMs until I have posted enough other posts. Once I have this ability I will take the advice on contacts for the brunch, getting the list of kids ages and forwarding my e-mail address to get some other info. I think I will have that in one or two more posts.

Hi everyone. We are a family of three with a five year old (William) his mom (Susan) and Dad (me) (Hart). All are veterans of Disney but new to crusing. We will stay at Disney for a couple days and head to the boat Saturday morning.

I am amazed that you all have been discussing this so long. We booked a while ago but just started focusing on the trip. I feel so behind. I have read your posts with delite and hope someone can answer some questions. I know there is another place for questions but it is nice to hear from people we will be traveling with.

First, are there others in this group with five year olds boys. Ours is excited to travel but sad that his friends are not with us.

Next as a new person to these boards, what does DD etc stand for?

More importantly, do most of you use the kids club? How many hours in a day?

Is a suit worn on formal night acceptable?

Any other thoughts are appreciated.

I am sure there is so much more I should learn and prepare for but we are excited to share this cruise. Just over 30 days to our fun!

Hart

I can tell you my experience with wearing a suit on formal night. I had wondered about this too when we took our first cruise last February. I decided to wear a suit to the semi-formal and formal nights. I would say that the majority of the men were wearing suits and not tuxes on the formal night. Not even close in my estimation. I never felt uncomfortable wearing a suit at all and forgot about my concerns in about 10 seconds - LOL! I'll be wearing a suit again this year.

Hello there! Welcome to the group:dance3:

I am trying to arrange a second brunch - for the Monday. If you are interested, I just need your full names and stateroom #. If you can't PM and you feel ok with this - you can post the info here. I am aiming to fax it off today and I'll let everyone know when I get a confirmation!

ps- DH wore a suit on formal night - no problemo:)

Welcome to the group! :yay:

We have a DS (I thought the "D" was for dear, but I like "disney" better) son who is 6, so that's close enough to 5 I guess!

Suit is fine for formal night; most men wear suits, but some (like DH - husband) like to wear a tux. It doesn't matter, I always look better than him anyway! :cutie: :rotfl2:

As for posts - I think you need 10 - you're so close! I saw someone on another thread just keep posting to get his/her count up. So just post on here some posts like: hi everyone! Then "what's up" - then "how's the weather" - "Almost there" - "go bears/saints" - you won't bother us. Most of us are pretty nice.

And Andrew's slightly confused about our on-board meet: I think the consensus was to meet at 2:30 in the Promenade Lounge, NOT Diversions. Let's get this clear people!! Promenade Lounge (there was one of these on the Love Boat!) is midship - between the lobby and Parrot Cay restaurant.

Kids club - AWESOME!!! DS often didn't want to leave, unless he was going to the pool! He really had a great time last year (at age 5) and I suspect he will enjoy it even more this year. We especially use it when we have spa appointments, Palo reservations, and/or if there is a particular activity they want to do while there (like make flubber) - there is a whole schedule of kids activities in the club. You'll love it.

Hope that covers it! Johnna

Hello Hart and family. Welcome to the group! :wave2:

It's our first cruise too and I'm hoping my DD's will love the kids' clubs so DH and I can have some adult time besides our Palo meals and our rasul spa appt.

Glad to hear a suit is fine for formal night. DH will probably wear the same thing for formal and semi-formal nights. Less clothes for him means more room in the suitcases for me!

Hart - we are going to be at WDW before the cruise as well! We're staying at CBR from the Wed to Sat and also driving to the port Sat morning - if you can't make the Grills pre-cruise get-to-gether, we can have our own at WDW!:cool1:

Welcome Hart and family...we, too, have a DS age 5 (and 1/2). He had a fantastic time in the club last time (he had just turned 4), and never wanted to leave! Even the pools only kept his interest for a short time, then he was begging to go back to the club! We'll see how it goes this time...

Kim,
Did you get the Eastern Navigators from the person in Corona? If so, can you scan and post them?

TIA

We are at the AKL Tues to Saturday and getting together at WDW sounds good. Just have to see if we are having a meal with relatives or not on Friday. If not friday then maybe Thurs. Our DS (5.5) would be happy to meet another boy prior to the boat. Are others staying at WDW Thurs night or Friday?

Nothing yet...I sent her my information, but haven't heard anything back yet. I hope I get them soon...and I'll be happy to share them. I'll just need a little technical help regarding how to post them when that time comes! :)

I can't believe it's only 30 days!

Sounds good - we have ressies for dinners Wed (Rainforest Cafe), Thurs (Cinderella's Gala Dinner) and Fri (Goofy's Liberty Treehouse) and Chef Mickey one morning, too...We'll for sure exchange contact info before the trip! BTW -I sent you a PM about the Palo brunch, if you're still interested - I'd like to send it in asap, but am still 3 short - you and your DW would still leave one short, but I'd send it in anyway to see what happens:confused3
