Hi everyone,

I haven't posted in a while, but with only six weeks left things are getting exciting. Its great to see that a lot of new people have joined the thread. I think a meet on Sunday may be better than sailaway. Sunday will be less hectic for everyone.

One of the reasons we were happy to have Indea88's cabin for the first meet was that it is a CAT 3 and a bit bigger than others. I found an e-mail address for her and sent a message a bit ago. Hopefully it will go through and she will reply or check in.

If she doesnt check in, or if she isn't going what about "Secret" Deck 7 Aft area at 3:00 PM that way we can meet, talk for a bit and then go to the Life Boat Muster at 4:00. We can discuss when and where to meet again.

Anything is fine with me:)

Maybe just maybe if for whatever reason we don't end up meeting in Indea's room....one of us will be upgraded to a CAT3!!!!!!!!!! Can you say major pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust: pixiedust:

Hi to all and the reason I have been away is because my husband has left ( its been 5 weeks) and the death of my Aunt at Christmas. I really have not been functioning too well through this.I haven't read any email or been on the computer since Dec.15. I'm trying to decide what to do about the cruise, whether to bring the kids alone, bring a friend along or cancel the trip all together...It's been a pretty devastating time for me.
Sorry to all who have been trying to reach me:guilty:

OMG we were so worried about you. I'm truly sorry for all the hardship you are enduring right now... I was so excited to see that you posted, but after reading your post, my heart sank for you,

May God bless you and your kids with the strength you need to pull through this difficult time. Please keep in touch, and know that you have people who care about you.

Andie, I am glad you checked in. Sorry to hear about all you are going through. You won't be alone on the cruise, we will be there for you.:grouphug:

Let us know if there is something we can do. I will add you and your family to the Prayers at my Church.

Andie - my thoughts and prayers of strength are with you as well. I can't imagine what you're feeling and going through, and whatever you decide about this trip, I know it will be the best decision for you at the time. Do what feels right - that's all you can do. I was commenting on how weird it was that we all felt concerned for you and we don't even know you - I know for me that won't change, even if we don't get to meet you in person.

Thank you to all for your thoughts, and prayers too, Prayer does change things...:cloud9: I am really trying to pull it together to continue with the cruise. I feel like I have friends, and I sure could use some right now:)

Dear Indea88:
I am very new to this group, but still sending you thoughts and prayers to get through this difficult time.

Just some insight, if you are interested:
Every time my life has come to an obstacle, I try to look at it as a journey...there are many steps along the way...it takes a while to reach our final destination of being settled and finding peace...your feelings, your level of comfort and peace, your sorrow and your happiness can and will change while on this journey...and the journey may not always be direct and sometimes we have to circle back and start over now and then to get ourselves back on track, and sometimes we have to stop and ask for help or directions. Just know that there are people along the journey, some you know, some you don't know that are there for your support.

O.K. I can cross another to do, off the list of to do's.... We took a family outing to our Doctors office for our flu shots tonight, OUCH...Had to bribe both girls to get it done...(you would think that the cruise would be enough:confused3 )

Thanks Kim, for all your work you have done putting our list together, and to Mark for putting the Dis Brunch together, as well as Alanapappa & Caropooh for their open invite to the Pre-sail Eve dinner...

Tommorrow is Kaylee' 10th birthday, so I'm off to make cupcakes for school...Hope everyone has a great evening. I'll check back in before bed...

Brenda:)

Where is everyone, with 38 days left until sailing, I would have thought we would be posting once or twice a day to get things figured out.

Or are we all in shock that soon we will lose the winter blahs and bask in the sun and warmth of the Caribbean?:beach: Drinking the Taste of the day:drinking1 dancing and partying:dance3: :dancer: party:

See you all soon:sail:

We have been planning this for so long...it's hard to belive that there is only 38 days left, Can't Wait:cool1:

With all the snow we have been getting, We have to now start hoping for good traveling weather...

As I was telling Brenda in a PM, I'm so distracted with work and day to day stuff (so behind on :laundy: I may need to go to target to buy underwear before I get time to wash it! - don't laugh, I've done it before!), and on top of that I'm organizing DD's nursery school auction/casino night fundraiser the Saturday b4 the cruise. Good thing for work, otherwise I'd never have time to get on the boards!:surfweb: :rotfl2:

So I think I'll be packing Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday nights before we leave. :scared1: It's probably a good thing I'm distracted 'cause otherwise I'd be shopping for the trip!! (Don't tell Mark!)

And it's going to be frigid here tomorrow - I know, I know, it's not Canada weather, or other places where you guys get really cold - but for us, it's freezing. :cold:

Oh- and I'm hosting ladies' poker night tonight. Good thing I'm the best player so I can make some money for a bahama mama or something! :cool2:

Johnna faxed, and I heard back back from the "Hassle Free Specialist" at DCL (Mugete something). She said that she received our request, but she does not formally approve the requests for the back room at Palo anywhere from 25 to 30 days out from the cruise.

She did note, however, that ours is the FIRST request, so that we are in good shape.

And one note: Sunday brunch at Palo is for 10:30, not 11:00 as I had posted. So I think that all is well in Brunch Land.

Mark:cool1:

Hey Johnna,
Us girls want to come to the poker party too!!??? If you hit it big tonight,(which I'm sure you will, being the best player and all:thumbsup2) and make more money than you can spend on those fun umbrella drinks, don't worry, we will be there to help you out, even though we weren't invited to the party :rotfl: :rotfl:

I'm sure you had a fun night.

Oh, and as far as the :laundy: goes...I always say, "Unfortunately, it's not going to go anywhere". it'll be waiting for you when you get to it :sad2:

Hope everyone else is doing well, our board has been so quite...Too quite!!!

Brenda:)

Carapooh, I know I am not cruising with you guys (oh, I wish I were - your group sounds like a blast), but I keep up with your board since I started here. I had to tell you that there must be something with Disney and the left foot (mine isn't even close to being as bad as yours), I broke my left pinky toe Sunday. The Dr. said it is a bad break, but still not much you can do about a toe. It is anticipated about 4-6 weeks before healing where I don't notice it so much anymore, but she gave me the temp handicap pass for the parks and recommended I use them after being on my feet for several hours.

I still manage to workout everyday and I will not let it ruin a great vacation. But I really could use a drinking group.

How is Seattle weather? I haven't talked to my brother a lot lately, but the last time he said there have been some more no school days because of weather.

Linda

Linda,
Sorry to hear about your toe. One of the good things is that you can get into the first group boarding the ship. Caro is doing better, and has started torture, I mean physical therapy.

Seattle was actually warm (for Seattle) this week. Most of the school districts around have trimmed a few days from Winter Break, Spring Break, and other things so the Students won't be in classes until July.

Hi everybody! Just wanted to say hello. My little counter says 35 days. I'm working on getting off some of these pounds so that I can fit into my summer clothes. Winter has been a buggar for me!

Anyone make their name tags so I can introduce myself and my family at Port while waiting to board?! Ours are made with the paint swatches from Home Depot. They were fun and got lots of looks when we wore them last year. We clip them to our backpack. You'd be surprised who knows a DIS'er but has never posted!

Have a great day!

Kim

OUCH!!! I hope I haven't jinxed us! My foot is slowly getting better. The bruising has pretty much gone away, there is still some swelling. Every day is a bit better. Hope your toe starts feeling better soon.
I see Alanapapa has updated you on weather. It's cloudy today. Today is the first make-up day for our school district.

Thanks Story family for working on getting brunch set up! I can't wait! So Johnna, how was poker last night? Win big?

Does anyone speak French? Tinkified and I found a guy(Barney) on another thread that is going on our cruise. I posted the link to here, but it doesn't look like he's come here. He, DW and DD6 are from Montreal. DD only speaks french, DH and DW speak English and French. I just don't know how well they speak English. I'm guessing that he may be a bit apprehensive to come here due to the language.

The girls are going shopping tonight with a friend of ours who only has boys, but she LOVES to shop! They each have 100.00 to spend on some clothes for the cruise. I can't wait to see what they get!
