Today is the day we go to Nassau. Last cruise we did the Comfort Suites thing and spent the day at Atlantis. It was lots of fun, however since this time prices were higher because of spring break and we had to have 2 rooms we decided not to go. $600 just did not seem worth it to me, although I'm glad I had the chance to go once. It is an amazing place! So our origonal plan had been to go to Wyndam at Cable Beach for the day and then make a stop at the straw market on the way back to the ship. Right before we left however my husband looked their web-site up and was not impressed with the look of the beach. Since we go to Hawaii for 2 weeks each summer and love the beaches there we decided to save the $10 a person cab fare and just go to the straw market and Del Sol. We went to breakfast at Parrot Cay and enjoyed the omlets but I think they are better up at beach blanket since you can have more things put in them. PC only had ham and cheese or plain chese. We only ended up being off the ship for about an hour and a half. We did find some cute things at the little market that you walk through when you first get off the ship. The straw market was an experience but we didn't find anything to buy there. It was like each of the 100 booths were selling exactly the same stuff. Del Sol was very cool and we bought lots of the color changing shirts, polish and sunglasses. It's a little spendy but so unique. We went to lunch back on the ship at the buffet. It was OK, nothing to write home about. They had a taco bar, potatoe bar, and pasta bar. After lunch we went the the movie Miracle. The adults thought it was excellent, the kids left after about 1/2 hour. Interesting that this time they would not let us bring in any hot food. Last time we had taken in french fries and nachos and this time they made us eat anything that was hot before we could enter. Dinner tonight was at Tritons. This is my favorite restaurant and favorite menu. We all had the beef tenderloin and it was wonderful. After dinner we went to Family Dueling pianos which we had missed last time. My kids loved it and had us rolling on the floor when they went up on the stage and danced with the piano players. It was short but very fun. Tonight was the juggler/comedian Mark Nizer. He was very talented and hilarious! We skipped the variety night last cruise and I was kicking myself since this turned out to be one of our favorite shows. A little more shopping after the show followed by the room service ritual. No wonder I gained 4 pounds on this vacation!
