March 25 2007 Wonder anyone else going?

Hi everyone how are you all on this cold evening? My kids are home from school so we are trying on all our summer clothes. Youngest DS went to his friend's house and got hit in the eye accidently and will probably have a shiner by the morning.

Anyone have any ideas of where to meet? Dotterman you have been on the ship before where would be good? Also need to figure out a way to recognize everyone. Some groups do Tshirts or buttons what do you all think?

See you all soon

:sad2: Shoveling snow is where I've been. :sad1: I just keep telling myself what great exercise I'm getting!!

Thank goodness we all have something to look forward to!!:cheer2:

I've been trying to find others going on this one!

We just finally booked today - wasn't sure if we were going to do the 25th 4day or the 29th 3day but then I got a better deal on the 4 day than we had gotten previously and voila!!

So anyhow - it will just be me, my DH, and our 4 y.o. DD

But we are SOOOOOO excited!

We are planning lots of Oceaneer's Club time for DD since she's an only child and that will give her playtime - plus she's been in preschool for a long time now, and likes that sort of socialization.

But what are you all doing about Castaway Cay?

Yay!!!
:rotfl: :rotfl: :woohoo: :rotfl: :rotfl:

Well, we couldn't even shovel here in DE - we got 2 in of snow covered by 2 in of ice! You should've seen me this a.m. trying to break my trash can free to roll it to the curb!

Much nicer to think about Castaway Cay (welcome dyngo - glad you found us!). I signed DD (age 11) & myself up for one of the excursions (the Stingray Adventure) but everything I read says it's also fun to just hang out. We might also rent bikes....

Hey mermaidlady - to locate each other for the meet: maybe an agreed-upon color of ribbon pinned on our shirts...? Hoping we hear from dotterman and kkoelr, our experienced cruisers, with ideas for good places to meet (of course my daughter suggested the ice cream stand!).

OK, back to work for me! - have a good Monday, everyone!

:goodvibes Welcome yndygo!!:goodvibes Glad you found us!

At CC.....we plan on hangin' on the beach w/ the kids, playing in the sand, sipping Konk Koolers...:cloud9: After lunch the kids will play at Scuttles Cove while DH & myself enjoy a cabana massage.:yay: He about had a heart attack when I told him how much $ it is  but I pointed out that we're on vacation, he's NEVER had a massage and it's a once in a lifetime chance to have one while looking out at the ocean. Plus, we'll be together. How could he say no?? ;)

:hourglass 34 more days!!

Welcome yndygo. We are planning on parasailing and banana boat rides on CC. My DD will go on the wild side. Other then that we will hang around in a hammock if we get lucky enough to get one.

The ribbon idea is a good one. It should be lime green for the disboards. You can also get mickey heads at home depot and put pin backs on them with names or screen names if you prefer. Or get mickey heads and string them on yarn to wear as a necklace.

I was thinking deck ten would be a good place to meet starboard side above the family pool.

Let me know any other ideas

Welcome yndygo, glad you checked in.:thumbsup2

We will be snorkeling in the morning and heading to the stingray adventure after lunch.

Mermaidlady - I love the idea of using the Mickey heads. I was planning to pick some up to add to our door signs.

Are Mickey heads located in the paint section of Home Depot? I figure it's easier to ask here first than wonder around HD! :)

I like all those suggestions w/ the Mickey heads and using the lime green ribbon. Also deck 10, stbd side sounds great. Glad we're doing it before the Sailaway party or we may not find each other.

Is it TOO early to start packing yet?? You guys are going to think that I'm nuts!! :dance3:

Well PFUI.

:sad1: :sad1:

I messed up on the booking - and rather than getting the 4-day 3/25, we're booked for the 3-day 3/29 - and at this point, due to air, cost, etc... it would cost me more than $2000 to change it!!! :scared1: :scared1: :scared1:

So we won't be getting to hang with you fun people.

Leave the ship in good shape and may you have a wonderful time!! Sorry we can't be with y'all:sad2:

sorry yndygo we will miss you.

The Mickey chips are in the paint dept. the official color color is sonic boom, at least that's the color I got for my Mickey heads.

Is anyone making door signs? I have 5 made. One might not stay up though. It will be my 15 yr old's birthday and he doesn't want his birthday sign up. He gets embaressed. :bday:

I have been thinking about packing as well. I have been making the kids check their summer clothes and they keep rolling their eyes at me. Also trying to plan out dinner wear is such a chore esp the boys. They don't want to dress up at all.:confused3

Can't wait to see you all. Shall we make 2:30 deck 10 starboard side above the Goofy pool?

:sad2: That's too bad about yndygo. They'll have fun though on their cruise.

I'm going tomorrow to find my Mickey heads. Thanks for the info mermaidlady.:thumbsup2 I am making a door sign... or at least attempting to. I scrapbook so it probably looks more like a scrapbook page but that's ok.

I'll check back in soon! pirate: :sail:

I've completed our door signs. I made one for each room (2). I will try and get some Mickey Heads this weekend.

What does everyone plan to write on the Mickey Heads they wear? Is it better to put our DIS names like "Tigger Friend DD" or should we put actual names so we get to know each other more easily? I'm not sure about the safety of putting childrens first names on the badges.

Hi all!

The meeting time & place sound fine. I just learned about door signs today but sounds like a good Mom & daughter project to me!

I agree about the kids' names, TiggerFriend - so I'm thinking about "Delamom" & "Delamom DD" for our Mickey heads. Once we meet, I'm hoping to be able to remember everyone's first names -- just don't be offended if I have to ask you a few times!!

Hey CapnJack Groupie - I read a post somewhere (can't remember where) from a past cruiser who said the front of the massage cabanas are open to the beach & they felt a little exposed getting undressed for their massage. My guess is they could've asked the masseuse to hold a sheet up across the front of the cabana...I agree with you about massages - they are one of life's little (sometimes big!) treats that everyone should try.

Hi delamom...I saw that somewhere also about possibly exposing yourself. I heard there's big wooden shutters & I think they try to keep them closed while you're changing - believe me....I'll make a point of closing them - don't want to scare anyone!! :scared1:

CapnJack Groupie -

Can't wait to meet as it seems like we have the same sense of humor!

(OK, I believe you'll behave yourself while changing, but what about your DH?) :beach:

Oh, he wouldn't care if anyone saw him but I told him he has to keep his boxers on, although he'll be wearing swimtrunks... Hmmm... :scratchin I'll have to rethink this. Whoops, too much info, huh?!

Hello everyone! My husband is KKOELR and since he has not replied in a while, I thought I would join in myself.

We will definately be up for meeting everyone. I have no clue what a Mickey Head is but I will head to Home Depot and find out!!

DOTTERSON, glad to hear there is another 11 year old girl in the group.

The one tip that I would pass on from our last trip is that you can drop off a pillow case or tee shirt (along with markers) at the start of the cruise and they will have the characters sign it and return it to your cabin before you disembark on the last day. It was a great free souvenier and the kids loved it. They still use the pillow cases today!:beach:

Nkoelr hi :wave2: I've been emailing K to set up a premeet.

Mickey heads are paint chips at Home Depot. Disney has a line of colors and that's how their paint chips come. If you want to give me a call K has my email addy

Can't wait to see you all on the ship:beach:
