March 25 2007 Wonder anyone else going?

Hi folks! I thought this forum sends you email when people answer a thread. ugh.

Anyway, DD is 14 3/4, not 11 as you've said...

We would love to see everyone at the meet at 2:30 Deck 10. Will have to get the Mickey Heads at HD. I don't think we'll need it tho.

We plan to get there early since we live in FL. But, we're going to move back to GA! That's why I haven't been on the Forum much. Lots to plan...

Anyway... having processed the packing yet. :sad2: Need to show the house!

Feel free to privately email me too (tho I won't get that notice either!)

Any hints/tips from our experienced cruisers? Anything you wished you would've packed last time? & now, a message from the 11-year-old who's enjoying the forum, too:

HI! I'm Deladaughter! :cutie: How is everyone? I'm fine.
Can't wait to get on board. I've never been on board, as you know. My mom's so bored of chores. :laundy: She can't wait to get on a ship that does everything for you!

koelr-can't wait to meet your 11 yr old! :chat:

Were the shows good? What's good to pack? Sweater? Jacket?

Hey everyone just checking in quickly before I go to work. I just wanted to say....

Only 1 more month, 4 short weeks, 28 days till we go (but who's counting):dance3:

Dotterson if you go to thread tools you can click on it to subscribe to this thread then you should get emails

I seem to be having technical problems here. I have writtern three posts and they were all rejected. So I am trying again and hope this one gets through.

We've only been on the one cruise but since we are going back only a year later, you can probably tell we had a fantastic time.

Tips - I don't know. Disney does it so well I think you could arrive there with nothing and still be ok!! But some that come to mind:

1) Get on the ship early (which sounds like most of you are). The buffet is open and so are the pools (even though last year it was pretty chilly at the FL port and the kids didn't stay in too long) but it is a great time to explore the ship.
2) Bring a cheap shoe rack (we bought one at the CVS pharmacy). I saw that suggestion and thought it was a waste but it was well worth it. Between pool shoes, tennis shoes, dinner shoes...they quickly added up and it was great to get them off the floor.
3) Bring a tee shirt or pillow case for signing (already mentioned but it was fun!)
4) Bring a blow dryer if you can. The ones on the ship are very weak.

If I think of any more, I will add them along.

To the question about the shows, they were great!! Last year was Hercules (which I am not sure if it will be the same or not) and I am not a fan of Hercules at all - and I loved the show. There was a ton of talent and it was funny and just great. The kids wouldn't think about missing a show. I almost hope it is the same show as last year so we can explore other things during that time - but hope it is a new show so we can enjoy another. Too many choices!! And the Golden Mickies was a riot.

Anyway, I will see if this one gets through.

Oh, forgot one. You never know what the weather will be but when we were in port in FL, it was a bit chilly. When we were out on deck out of the sun, we definately needed a jacket. Also, if they do it again and have the pirate night party out on the deck at night (when they also had fireworkds off the boat - so cool!!), we needed a light something then as well. But at the ports we did not need anything - just if you are out of the sun and get the wind off the water, it could get chilly.

:cool1:
Hubby, Steve, myself, Beth, Cory, (Son age 15), and Emily, (daughter age 12), will be joining you all.

We have cruised Disney Magic 7 night cruise 3 times with kids and hubby and I have done Wonder the last two years alone. This time we are taking kids.

My kids would love to IM or e-mail some friends. My e-mail is bbethparsons@aol.com. Let them chat so when they met on boat it will be that much more fun.

We just decided today and booked!

Brought WAY TOO many last time. Of course, we don't want to wash anything, :laundy: but didn't wear quite a bit! Bring a carry on with a bathing suit and essentials as the rooms might not be ready quickly (tho we had no prob).

Thought the hairdryer was fine. Bring more shampoo if you use a lot.

Still haven't thought about the cruise since we're putting our house up for sale. ARG! It would be great if we come back and it's sold!!!!!!

Hi Beth and family. I'm so glad to see another teen boy. My DS will turn 15 just days before the cruise. He is rather shy at first so we will see if he will write a note. I'll talk to him after school.

I think we will end up packing to much. Dotterson thanks for the tip about shampoo. My DD and I both have long thick hair that needs lots of conditioner. Hope your home sells quickly, we did that in 2002 and it was not fun.

Can't wait to see you all, esp with the weather the way it has been the last couple of days.

...and thanks for the tips from everyone!

Beth & NKoelr - shall we use the private message feature on this site to let our daughters meet? Sabrina is 11 (& doesn't have her own e-mail).

We spent some time yesterday trying on summer clothes & picking outfits for dinners. Thanks to all for the "pack light" advice - that should help rein us in!

Re the shampoo, etc. - I'm assuming we could ask for more...?

--Vicki :surfweb:

ask for ANYTHING on the cruise - extra shampoo or whatever! (We brought back dessert from Palo's -- no prob!)

You and me both wish our house sells quickly! I'm just running around hiding stuff (and won't remember where I've put them!) So.. as for packing... I suppose I will have to get that in gear.

Been thinking about the pirate outfits pirate: (DD was a pirate for Halloween. Doesn't want to bring the boots tho.)

We're going to Palo's the Nassau day (I think). Hope that works out well...

My brains are so frazzled!

Hi guys! I'm glad to see some first names popping up. I was beginning to feel like I'm on the FBI's most wanted list!! I do respect those who will stick to their screen names but I'd like to share mine... for no particular reason except that my DIS friends should know my name. :) I'm Kris, my DH is Todd, DS is Ian, and DD is Hannah.

Everyone have a great night!!

Hi Kris I'm Kate my DH is Chip DD is Teagan and the boys are Colin and Quinn. My mom is also coming and her name is Mary Lou. I wanted to name my son Ian but my uncle named his son that. He is the same age as my DD.

Have a great evening

Danielle, Jeff and Natalie (14 3/4 going on 20, at least!)

Where are we meeting again????:cool2:

Hi Kate,

I'm Linda, my DH is David, my DS9 is Kyle, and my DD5 is Anna. My Mom is also coming. Her name is Barbara.

I've started packing. I had to buy new luggage to make sure there is room for all of the helpful items I've read about on the DIS and in the DCL PassPorter. We will also be trying to fit in some Pepsi and bottled water. My DH prefers Pepsi and I mostly dring bottled water.

I can't wait to meet every one.

Has anyone see the thread about the best place to meet on the ship? Someone mentioned a place on Deck 3 where you could sit and have a drink. I still prefer to be outside if the weathers nice, but it could be a backup.

Oh good another pepsi lover. I'm not sure how I 'll get pepsi for the trip since we are taking a van service. I'll have to check and see if there is a stop near our hotel in Orlando.

By my count we have 15 adults and 13 kids. I too would prefer to be outside up on the deck. I have seen that thread and read a little. It is my understanding it is very easy to get drinks anywhere.

Next week I will get the lugguge down and start packing
