March 23, 2013 FANTASY - The Final Inaugural Cruise of the Disney Fantasy

Hi everyone!! You can add me and my DS who will be 16 on this cruise. We just got off the Disney Dream last month and had an amazing time. This will be my 5th Disney cruise but first time traveling alone on a cruise with my son. Hopefully I'll get a lot of "me" time and won't feel lonely. Looking forward to meeting all of you. Thanks Lisa for starting the group thread...I was part of the DIS Double Dip group back in December 2006. Happy to cruise with you again:banana:

Hi all! Please add my DD (7) and myself to this cruise. We are both so excited to go!! I have only been on one other Carnival cruise over 10 years ago and this will be my DD's first cruise. This cruise will be the week of my daughter's spring break. I have been madly reading all I can on this site to learn as much as I can. We look forward to getting to know you all better. :goodvibes

Julie:
Welcome abroad! We took a Carnival Cruise in 1995 and I swore I'd never cruise again! My BFF wanted to try DCL in 2006. I said the ONLY way I'd try another cruise was with DCL. It was AMAZING! I had more fun in the first hour on board than the total of some other vacations. You will have an incredible time! We are hooked, as this is DCL #7 for me!

I actually had a wonderful time on my Carnival Cruise 10 years ago. It was one of the most relaxing vacations I have ever had. I really enjoyed not having to do much planning for once. Your comments comparing DCL to Carnival make me even more excited for this cruise!!! I have a feeling that I may also be one to get hooked to cruising.

Has anyone checked out the blog pictures lately of the Fantasy? They look so amazing!!

I have one more question, can someone let me know how I can get one of the tickers like all of you have for your signatures? I would really appreciate it. :thumbsup2

:welcome: Hope it all works out with scheduling!! I was already hunting down the schedule for standardized testing for next year to make sure we don't conflict and doesn't seem we will.. hoping since it's the week before the holiday and a short week for us that they won't change their minds! AH!

They have added 5 days to the school year for 2012-2013, but the spring break is still the 2 weeks before and 1 week after for us [year round]. The only thing we have to work with is DS's online HS class. He is taking Spanish this semester and will be taking either earth science or world history next spring semester. At least I will be able to help him with quizzing for tests with that. The class continues through their YR break since it operates on the regular school schedule. I will probably end up working on his laptop a couple mornings in the stateroom to be sure he keeps up.

We have been stalking the Fantasy the last few days on the web cams. :surfweb: I didn't pay attention to the Dream because I knew we wouldn't cruise that one with the shorter cruises. This is exciting!!! We are at the 77 day mark for the MV!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just go to http://www.**************/ and follow the steps. You then copy and paste the img code into your signature by clicking on User CP on the top bar, then edit signature.

Originally, I thought I was priced out of this cruise because I missed the blue light.

Then after reading Lisa's post about original booking dates locking in prices, I switched over a dummy res from last year and found it less expensive for a 5e than our current 9a on her MV.

This will be spring break for us, so I haven't even told the fam about it yet. I can't wait to see what new excursions will be available!

I know, right? :wizard: Glad you will be joining us on this anniversary cruise of the MV.

Wasn't too keen on the newly released 2013 itineraries for the Magic/Wonder over spring break so we'll be joining your group. Looks like we missed out on the 'blue light special' though. :)

It will be myself and DD who will be 14 on this cruise.

Ugh. I can't believe it. After all that, I may cancel this cruise. They released the Wonder and Magic itineraries for most of 2013 and we booked the EBTA and the WBPC. We have three cruises set for next year but are only able to take one :rotfl2:. I just don't know which one.

My guess is that we'll chose the transatlantic or the Panama Canal.:grouphug:.

I don't plan on canceling any of them for a few months while we firm up all the costs for each of them. So you never know, we may be on this cruise after all!

The PC is a great experience!!! Cartegenia was our favorite port. DH wanted to book Alaska again, but I told him to wait until 2014 when both kids are off the year round schedule and have a longer summer. Also, I told him about this cruise, and that we will never get another one for this price. :)

That's what is making this so hard :headache:. Such a great price on this cruise and I think we'll never get to go on the Fantasy otherwise . But I think we're just going to do the PC. I still haven't canceled anything, but I did buy insurance on the WBPC yesterday, so that makes it look as if that's how we're going.

Lisa, btw, you've been so friendly and helpful. I'll be sad not to meet you on this cruise, but maybe someday :flower3:

(Everyone's been super nice. I just had a few dealings with Lisa that made me want to point it out.)
Keep us posted!! would LOVE either of those experiences!!!
Will do! :cheer2:

Well, count us in! After waiting and waiting on the Magic 2013 European itineraries, they turned out to be largely repeats of the 10-night we did in 2010. So, we moved our dummy booking to this cruise, which is my DD's Spring Break 2013. Yay! Looks like a great group of people to sail with!

You can transfer that insurance with the booking if you change the dates. I feel the same way about being able to cruise on the Fantasy again. The thing is, you can pretty much guarantee that DCL will have a ship doing the PC again in 2014 and after that, so you could put that off for a year. That's what makes putting Alaska off for a year tollerable. :)

You're just making this harder

But the two-week PC will generally be during the girls' school year and I think we're almost at the time when we can't take them out for that long. But this is such a hard decision!

I really need to win the lottery :lmao:
