March 23, 2013 FANTASY - The Final Inaugural Cruise of the Disney Fantasy

I just wanted to check in. I am super excited about this cruise. I hope that Disney does something special at the 1 year anniversary. Does anyone remember if they celebrated on the Dream? I think that Buddy (Cake Boss) did a cake - but I don't think it was on the actual 1 year anniversary. Hmm...only 8 more months to find out for sure.

I just booked a 3 night cruise on the Dream for Oct and I am very bummed about it. I know - I shoud be super happy, but I know I am going to be dreading the day that I get off before I even get on! However, I am going with a friend and a three night cruise was the only one we could fit into our schedule. (We work at a hospital together on the same shift with limited staff, there is no way we can both take 2-4 days off that would be needed to go on a 5 to 7 day cruise.) She has never been on a Disney cruise before - so she has no idea that 3 days just isn't enough. We are going to WDW for 2 days after.

We were going to go on the WBPC cruise if we were able to budget it - now with this 3 day, the WBPC is off the table. I think that is why I am super bummed - but the the WBPC is no way set in stone and this trip will be in 2 days when I pay it off.

Someone please cheer me up - I mean, I am going to be on Mickey's boat. I know that y'all would understand.

You have the Dream, The Fantasy and then the Magic to Venice to look forward to and you're bummed

I would love to be able to do that Venice itinerary.

Hello Everyone.

We booked this cruise just a little while ago and I am just now getting around to looking at the thread. I have read through all 19 pages and man, it looks like there is going to be a great group on this one.

My name is Jeffrey and joining me on this cruise will be my beautiful wife Danielle, our daughter Elizabeth who will be 3, our daughter Mackenzie who will be 22 months, and our son William who will be 22 months as well. Also, my parents will be joining us.

We have been on several Disney cruises, including the maiden voyage of the Fantasy, hello again Lisa! I cannot tell you how excited we are for this cruise.

Welcome to this crew, Jeffrey! Another family who will join us to be on both the Maiden Voyage and the last cruise of the innagural year.

We will be sailing with you all. Me, DH, DS (16). We booked in April, so didn't get the great deals some of you got, but checked and our category has gone up 1050.00 since we originally booked. We've sailed once each on Wonder and Dream and twice on Magic. Can't wait to be on the Fantasy!

Thanks. I'm looking forward to sharing the anticipation of the cruise with others that "get" it. DH is already tired of hearing me talk about it. I joined the FB group so will have twice the opportunity to talk about the cruise! I did this in 2011 when we cruised on the Dream and it was fun.

My name is Jacquie (32) and DH is Daniel (40). We just got off of the Dream today, on what was the most fabulous first DCL cruise we could have wished for!! We booked this cruise on board to get the discount and OBC and also, let's face it, it makes it so much easier disembarking from the ship, when you have another cruise to look forward to!!

I got such a deal that I'm willing to .......

I have just received the results of my job vacation lottery. I am 41 st person out of 54 people on the list, which gives my chances of winning this week to cruise pretty slim.
I thought lotteries were suppose to be random, but apparently some smart person decided to do it in alphabetical order.

I'm now wishing for a lot of Pixie Dust because I don't want to be forced to do something irrational

Honestly that is no where close to being a fair system. Can you appeal? I can understand seniority, but alpha order isn't fair to anyone unless their name is Aaron.

I think we're actually going!

We are platinum cruisers and I booked this the day the bookings opened for platinum cruisers waaaayyyyy back last October. The price was obscene- no glich price for us!

Anyway, we were on the Dream this past April and on the way home, the airline we were flying needed 5 seats, so they were asking for volunteers. There are 5 of us, so we gave up our seats and got a $2000 airline credit. I told DH the only way I was agreeing was if we could use it to book our air for the 3/23 Fantasy. He reluctantly agreed. We arrived home 2 hours later than we would've without the credit (plus the $2000 credit).

Well DH was VERY unhappy with the price,...but I've been chipping away at it. Plus, with the $2000 airfare credit...."I'm saving us money!"

So I just booked the air- which was extraordinarily expensive from NY--so it looks like we "gotta" go now! I'm thinking this will have to be a part of the kids Christmas presents.

So we are:
Cathicool, 42 at time of sailing
DH, Jeff, 41 at time of sailing
DD, Alassia, 12 at time of sailing- for just 1 more month!
DS, Zachary, just turning 11 at time of sailing (muliple and severe food allergies, autism)
DD, Victoria, 8.5 at time of sailing

We are currently in 7588.

DH and I are doing the 8/10, 2 night to nowhere on the Magic from NY. This Fantasy cruise will be my 17th DCL!

BTW, count us "IN" for the FE!

You aren't yet, but if you send an email to fantasyspringbreak2013cruisers@yahoo.com you can be. The FE is an gift exchange between those who sign up in the DIS group. You can do a gift per person or per stateroom, depending on what you decide to give. There is no assigned time to distribute them during the cruise, just whenever it works into your vacation time. You hang a fish extender outside your door on the fish, seahorse or starfish and people put your gifts in the pockets.

Yeah it is standard since it was the second time we ate there
