March 22-29, 2008 - Here Before You Know It!

dvcbrad,
As of about 3x weeks ago, there was a communication's satellite scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral on the 21st. This was never listed on the nasa website, but was listed here: (DisneyMom92 mentioned it in one of her posts)
http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/launches/scheduleStatus.asp

Unfortunately, I just had a look at the above, AND it is no longer listed there.

So, now our only hope is that they delay the shuttle 10 or 11 days.

Thanks for this link - I'll check it occasionally as well! I'm really hoping for any kind of launch! In view of the fact that the launch that you saw is now gone, could that mean that NASA is thinking the shuttle launch will be pushed back some? One would think that NASA has priority on the launch pads, right?! Regardless, let's hope the shuttle does get pushed back enough so that we can all see it!

Looking forward to cruise weather!

I checked the Kennedy Space center website, it was scheduled for 3-21-08 in the late afternoon. I just went back to the site and it has been cancelled and the closest launch is now 3-11-08. Sorry everyone, but really I am not an astronaut!!! I wish the had not changed the date!!!!:scared: My ds will be crushed.

I believe it is mailed 21 days before. If you use a travel agent, it will go through them first. We got ourse last year about 2 weeks before through our travel agent.

Hope this helps.

Hello All,

I feel like I haven't been on the boards in so long...but it has only been a few weeks. I was so afraid that we were not going to be able to join you on the cruise because of illness. My husband went in for a routine test and suddenly we are faced with cancer. He is doing great after surgery and the doctor gave him the green light for the cruise. The only down side is that he will be going thru chemo during the cruise. Anyone have any experience with chemo and traveling? I am nervous, but so happy to be going. I do believe that we will be in need of some down time!;)

Akarts-We have not met (I have read some of your posts), but know that our prayers are with you and your family. I hope you will have a wonderful vacation!!! I do not know much about chemo and travel, I wish I could give you some advice.

We woke up to snow yet again this morning, Every day we have some, only small amounts, but VERY COLD. Can't wait for tropical air!!!!

Hi Akarts!
This is the DW chiming in for a change. Try to find info for traveling during chemo on the DISabilities forum. The people there are so wonderful and very helpful. :thumbsup2 And we too are saying prayers for your family! See you soon!:grouphug:

Hi Akarts

We have not met but I have read your post. we our from Ohio and our prayers our with your family. we hope you have a wonderful trip .

Can't wait to get out of this cold weather

akarts,

I have you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
I hope all goes well with your dh's treatments and know that your disboard friends are pulling for you.

Akarts my thoughts and prayers are with you as well. As a 20+ years cancer survivor, you can beat the beast! My best friend is almost a 5 yr breast cancer survivor as well.

momdislover - where are you in So IL? My mother's family is from Murphsyboro.

I have never needed a break from this lousy weather more in my entire life. Don't remember a winter like this since I was a kid! Just over 3 weeks and counting!!!!

llp479- We live in a small town called Moro illinois, We are about 25-30 minutes from St Louis, I guess technically we are between southern and central Il, we are about 2 hours south of springfield illinois.we are still a little further north than Murphysburrough. We are about 6hours south-west (I think) of chicago. The only town I can think of to explain our location is St Louis MO. We are in the bi-state area. As you can tell I am not very good with directions.

My SIL is in the St Louis area. If you asked anyone from up here where you are, it's definitely So IL. Anything south of Springfield is So IL.

Here's to hoping we have wonderful weather for the cruise! Of course after this winter, even 60's would feel like heaven to me!

okay, so we got another surprise snow fall tonight-of course not much but enough to make me HATE winter!!!!! 23 days until the cruise. The way that this weather is going we may have to re-think driving to Fla.:scared1:

Our weather has been crazy here too, not knowing what we're going to wake up to. Our winters aren't as rough as yours are so we really aren't used to it. I'm ready for some fun in the sun too. :cool2:

sun-what is that? I don't think we have seen the sun in days........maybe even weeks. I am so pale white!!! I may have to go to the tannning beds I am not a big tanner but I don't want to blind anybody!!!!:lmao:

Hi

Where the sun it sure isn't here ! We our gettting 3 to four more inchesof snow today that enough already ! this isn' t coming fast enough for me. I started to pack yesterday and Ds said our we going tomorrow I wish !

It was sunny and about 80 degrees today :cool2: (Saharan Desert North Africa):beach:. It's just to bad I don't get to see a whole lot of it! (The sun that is) Oh Well, only 11x more days and I head home. :cool1: Plenty of time for me to pack. It should take all of about 2 hours! :rotfl2:, which is quite a bit longer than it takes me to pack for work! :laundy:

3x more weeks today, and we'll be flying south from Minnesota.

Like the rest of you, the DW is sick  and tired of winter! I'm sure a Bahama Mama :drinking1 will cure that right quick! party:

Really looking forward to meeting the rest of you! :disrocks:

akartsMy prayers join that of everyone else's! I'm so happy that you folks will be able to join the rest of us!

One more complaint about the weather--here in Rockford, Illinois we officially have had the snowiest Dec-Feb EVER! We broke the record last night. Thankfully, Feb is over today and we're still a good 8 inches from the seasonal record. I couldn't snow 8 inches in March--right???:scared1:

3 weeks from today my family will be spending the day at Magic Kingdom. :mickeyjum (Yes, it will be Good Friday. I expect insane crowds but DH can't bear the thought of not going there and just on the cruise!)

Opinion needed from you previous DCL cruisers. DH is bringing a suit to wear for formal night. For semi-formal night can he get away with wearing a very nice shirt, tie and dress slacks? Toyed with the idea of renting a tux but decided I'd rather spend the $75 on more luggage to bring dress clothes in.

Next "just curious" question for everyone: What dinner seating do you have? We have late seating.

One more thing! If anyone has a DS or DD who's interested in being a pen pal with my DS age 10 (nearly 11), please PM me.

Definitely counting the days!!
