Hi All, Just wanted to let you know that I posted a question about Easter activities on the general DCL forum. Curious if past Easter cruisers remember Easter activities on DCL.

FOUR WEEKS FROM TODAY!:cheer2:

We cruised over Easter week in 2006. I don't recall exactly, but I do believe there were some activities for children. There was an Easter mass as a priest was on board. It took place in one of the theaters. There was also a nice breakfast in Lumiere's. Each dining room had a large Easter egg decorated and displayed, as well. I know this is not much, but I hope it helps some.

Less than 4 weeks!

We all should start getting our documents anyday. :cool1:

I suspect this last 28 days will go really Sllllooooooooowwwwwwlllllllllllly,

Is anyone getting excited yet? :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

excited is not the word!!!! I am overjoyed!!! I bought a fish extender on ebay!!! I bought DS a "formal" outfit, well a pair of very nice dress pants, a dress shirt and a tie, as well as new black dress shoes. I tried to get him into a suite but that turned into ww3. DH is actually going to drag out the "wedding and funeral suit" this is major for him. This will have to do for formal night for us. Do you think I would be okay in a pant suit? I have not worn a dress since my wedding, and lets just say, I have done some dress shopping and well.......not good!!!! I can not wait. I am ready to leave now. I have brought the luggage upstairs, and have also started the ceremonial trying on of ds summer clothes from last year!!!! some actaully fits woo-hooo more money for cruise!!!!:woohoo:

We have the countdown calendar on the fridge and a countdown clock on the computer. I am sure my coworkers are getting really tired of hearing me say, "In ___ weeks I leave for my cruise!"

I have been making my lists and checking them twice. Bought some new luggage (needed a good garment bag for the "fancy" stuff.) Went to Walmart today and spent a lot of money on misc. things for the cruise (new power strip, duct tape, Bonine, sunglasses for DS, Easter basket goodies). My list is endless.

I officially started the laundry basket that I'm throwing stuff in for the cruise--but it's already looking full so I'm going to have to come up with another plan!!

Been thinking about my door decor. And as a result have become addicited to checking the DisBoards! Make sure you read the post from the gal that just got back from a 7 day Western. Lots of great tips for us "newbies"!www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1732005

We actually leave town on Thurs. 3/20 and will spend 2 nights at WDW before going to port. I'm so excited!:yay:

I have been on Jenny Craig Weightloss Program since November and I have lost 23 pounds. It is about two sizes so I have to shop. It's a hardship but someone has to keep our economy going so it might as well be me. I need just about everything.

Way to go, Jerseybelle! :cheer2: Congrats on your hard work. Yeah, what a bummer to have to buy new clothes.
We all feel bad for you. :rotfl2: I love to shop!:hyper:

whamma-you joined DVC this year? We joined last year also at AKV!!! have you been there yet? We have not. We wanted to stay before the cruise but Dh wanted to save some points for next year, plus I am on vacation with out pay due to starting work at a new hospital in september(no vacation time until after a year)sooo, being gone more than 1 1/2weeks has dh wallet kinda nervous!!!!:rotfl2: Cant wait to meet everyone!!!!!:wave2:

Thanks. The food on the cruise will be my real test. My husband started Jenny Craig last week when he saw my success but he didn't like it when he was told he doesn't get to meet Valerie Bertinelli. :rotfl2:

My credit card is going to get a workout. At least with the AAA Visa I earn points that turns into $50 vouchers that can be used for various things through AAA including travel. We applied several vouchers to this cruise.

As far as weight loss goes, I'm sure my DH would be thrilled that I share with you that he's lost about 20-25 lbs since the first of the year. He does the Atkins thing--counting carbs and the weight just falls off him. I think its a guy thing tho because eating meat and cheese and no fruit on a diet just seems so odd to me!

I went to the local Home Depot today and not a single "Alien Green" paint chip to be found. Guess the DisBoarders have them all cleared out! I'll easily be able to make my own tho for our "meet and greet". Plus I'll make a few more for the door decor. I even bought a laminator. Figured I can put it to good use beyond the cruise door decorations.

Four weeks from today--KeyWest. Can't wait to get my hands on a key lime pie on a stick! Yum.

Just curious, is anyone else taking Disney transportation from the resorts to the port on the day we board the ship? We will be leaving from PO French Quarter.:drive:

No, we are not staying at WDW prior to the cruise. We are actually going to stay in cocoa beach. My ds wanted to spend the night at a hotel on the beach. We are leaving on Thursday and driving- I can not stand to fly,I get very air sick.:sad2:

I did just learn--If you are going to be in town(orlando) Friday the 21st, there is a shuttle (or some sort of rocket) scheduled to launch that day from Kennedy Space center. Just look up!!!:cool1:

We fly in same day and will be taking Disney transportation from MCO. We have an 8 am flight out of Philadephia. Crossing our fingers that it is basically on time. We flew in same day last time and due to delays we only got on the ship around 3:00 pm.

Hi

We are flying in on friday at 6: oo p.m. from Pittsburgh and staing at Mco Hyatt. then taking the transportation from mco to port. can't wait to meet everyone stella

We drive down to Minneapolis Thursday night, and have an early flight out Friday morning. We should be in Orlando by 10:30AM. We're staying out in Cocoa Beach Friday night.

I sure hope the rocket goes as scheduled. I wanted to see a Shuttle launch, but a rocket is better than nothing! :thumbsup2

So, by my Enron Accounting, we leave in 23 days! :cheer2: :cheer2: :rotfl2:

I hate to burst everyone's bubble, as I would love to see a launch as well ... but ... I was just looking at the launch schedule at NASA's launch schedule, and the most optimisitic is that we MIGHT be in line to see a launch - shuttle no less! It's currently scheduled as "Targeted For" March 11, but we know how those tend to go. Is there perhaps a launch of a private rocket around the 21st that would not be listed on NASA's site? If so, that would be great, too, but would love to know more if anyone has any specific info, as we'll be staying at OKW on Thurs & Fri and would want to drive over to see it.

Here's the link to the NASA website - thanks for any additional info that anyone else might be aware of.

dvcbrad,
As of about 3x weeks ago, there was a communication's satellite scheduled to launch from Cape Canaveral on the 21st. This was never listed on the nasa website, but was listed here: (DisneyMom92 mentioned it in one of her posts)
http://www.kennedyspacecenter.com/launches/scheduleStatus.asp

Unfortunately, I just had a look at the above, AND it is no longer listed there.

So, now our only hope is that they delay the shuttle 10 or 11 days.
