March 2016 Rental Car Discount ~ Promo Code ~ Rate Watch

Who do you mean by "their"? Are you relaying this information because you talked to a Vegas Brazil LLC agent? It's a little disconcerting that you have to have Google "translate" their web page. https://www.vegasbrazil.com/

This is all a WAG -- but I actually would not be surprised that your own auto insurance company could technically deny coverage if you used a code you are not entitled to -- CDW included or not -- after all, I think ALL insurance policies have some phrase of some sort that lets them off the hook to pay if they driver was involved in certain illegal actions, which certainly seems to address fraudulent use of a discount code.

Alamo Vegas Brazil Code : 7016427 $144 ($99 before taxes/fees) for the week including all taxes. Not prepaid... March 15-22nd
Can't find anything to beat it..

Thanks for the code. Unfortunately, it appears my dates are blacked out - with the Vegas Brazil code, they still want $435 for my car & my time frame (ends on Easter). Cheapest car available for that span is $411.

Yes, I spoke to a representative at the travel agency. They specialize in a certain market that is why their website is in Spanish.

Unfortunately that is smack dab in the middle of March Break and Easter. Too bad it didn't work for you.. your rates are ridiculously high :(
Have you looked on mousesavers or rentalcar mamma for promo codes?

I'm usually really good at finding coupons for Alamo but it seems there are none right now. I don't even get the weekend specials in my email anymore.

The March rates are ridiculous. We just found a decent rate with SIXT.

Agreed. March rates are getting worse, not better. It could change, so keep looking. With the SixT rental, keep in mind they're off-MCO, so you'll be taking a shuttle.

Also agreed. Alamo has really cut back on the coupons the last year or so and a lot of them that worked beyond their expiration date no longer do and I've often seen some that are supposedly valid as "not valid at this location" for MCO.

March is getting closer quickly. Hopefully there will be some downward movement, but I'm not terribly optimistic....the same thing happened last year.

Thanks richmo. I found another with Hertz (about 50.00 more) but probably worth it. They also offer Plate Pass since we will be doing quite a bit of driving.

I just got a mini van for 183 for last week of March thru Costco using Alamo

May I ask your dates? I've been actively looking for a good rate this week and everything I see is well over $400/wk. using Costco and other sources.

Whatever the Saturday is that is last Saturday in March thru April 1st. It's a mini van which was cheaper than an economy go figure

Check your rates again. I was able to secure a full size via Costco for $318, 3/20-3/28. Looks like rates are starting to come down. For the past 2 months they have been well over $450 for these dates. This is even cheaper than Vegas Brazil code.

Go check your rates! Using Costco my rate has dropped close to $65 over the last 5 days. Doing a last minute trip, I just booked the car rental. Still not a great rate, but for the busy week I am happy. This morning I got Alamo - Intermediate Car 3/16-3/21 $205 then I checked a few hours later and got Budget Intermediate for $190.

My rental now went to $277, it appears to keep dropping!!:D

This may be a silly question, but how do you get a costco code? I am a member, but when I go to their website, it searches for you, and then I don't have to put in a code?? Thanks!!

It automatically puts in the codes for you. And it compares all of the car companies.

If you look at the options via your mobile phone you won't see all company and category options like you would see via an IPad or computer. Also you won't see the codes on their main rental car page.

Ok Got it! Thanks!

I tried it on my PC, thanks for the tip. Still getting better rates using two other methods.....My dates are March 10-18:

Alamo Standard car using the brazil code...$202.17
Alamo 7 passenger mini van ..using Visa as the corporate ID and AD83Z1SDL ($25 dollar off vans & specialty cars) for $230.28

Costco puts the codes in for you if you book thru their site. You can see the actual codes if you look at 'Featured coupons' or 'Browse by Brand' instead of using the low price finder and look at 'Terms and Conditions' of specific rentals. You can then take those codes to the specific agency website and use them there. Of course, you could book directly thru the Costco site. Personally, I like to get the codes from Costco, then book directly on alamo.com, or whatever. One advantage to doing that is that I may use the Costco discount, but bring in a coupon from another source (Entertainment, etc.) that may be less than just using Costco's low price finder.
