March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

458.39 miles

Is there a prize for the person who is closest? If so, close the contest now...before someone closer answers!

Nini

Oh, there is definitely a prize! The winner gets to take themselves on their own paid trip to WDW! :woohoo:

Great prize, huh? :lmao: Thanks for responding! :flower3:

:thumbsup2 How GREAT about your extra day only costing you $50 more with the dining added! I'm still debating on adding dining myself...just haven't worked out the details yet. It's sad that it's so focused on where will we eat THIS time...just the TWO of us! ;)

:thumbsup2 Congrats on making Deans List! :)

Oh and my house is 909 miles away! :)

Thanks for the grats and for responding! :flower3: Have you priced out the cost? If you don't save anything, no point in adding it. If you'll save, then go for it. You also have good reasons to be focused on where you will eat! :goodvibes

Before I get to comments, I have some super awesome news to share:

I MADE THE DEAN'S LIST!!!

I'll be there. :thumbsup2 Wait, why are you getting up at 4? I won't be there early though ... so no seat saving from me.

Congratulations on Dean's List...that takes a lot of hard work and dedication!!!!!!

Well, for an 8 am flight:

~we live about 45 minutes from the airport
~we have to drop the car off at the park and ride
~we have to be at the airport 2 hours prior to flight time

I probably won't get to the Dismeet early enough to save seats either, we are just gonna have to find each other...

OH LIDIAN, WHERE ARE YOU? D~ ARE YOU IN HERE SOMEWHERE? Excuse me, Yeeha, could you please make an annoucement from the stage that there is a crazy group of Disers here, and if you are from that group, stand and show yourselves? THANKS!!!

:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

Oopsi... I wouldn't miss meeting your or your family... I don't think we will stay for illuminations that night... we have to be up early the next morning for the FP run to TSM. ;)

D~

D~ Thanks SOOO much for giving up Illuminations for us!!! Even if it is just to delay it for another day, That is so sweeeeet! :flower3:

Just look for one of my bags... I am positive I will be carrying my Test Track one that day. :thumbsup2

Maybe I should make a flag we can hang or carry????

You could totally make that. :rolleyes1

Thanks for helping me out! :flower3:

I had planned on rushing the stage when I got there. Isn't that what you're supposed to do? Rush the stage and take the mic. Make your own announcement? :confused3

OH! We DO need a flag! A Threadjackers flag!!!! :woohoo: A big Lime Green Mickey Head flag that says "Threadjackers Unite!". :thumbsup2

A bunch of us will probably arrive around the same time from Epcot. :lmao::rotfl2: Yeeha won't know what to think.

Yes, Liddy, that is exactly what you are supposed to do... :rolleyes1

I think I am going to put someone else in charge of this one... I just don't think I will have the time... :surfweb:

Probably - it starts at 9 right?

Hmmmmm, I do have some green fabric from my skirt left.:rolleyes1

I volunteer Corrine. :lovestruc

Oh, good. I'm glad that's what I am supposed to do. I would have been mortified if I did that and it was a bad thing. As long as it's kosher, I'll rush the stage when I get there. :thumbsup2

D, text me later and lemme know how your DH is doing. Thinking about him and your family today. (Today, right? I stay confused with dates.)

So I have the March cancellation thread subscribed. It's been very inactive, and most posts are for later in March or for places I'm not interested in.

A couple of weeks ago, a Chef Mickey's got posted (I saw the email notification while in the car on my way to one of my neice's birthday party and it was gone before I was able to call).

Well, today, I check my subbed threads ... There's a new post on the cancellation thread.

March 3rd, Saturday @ 5:05PM
Chef Mickey's
Party of 4

So I thought to myself ... wonder if it's been snagged yet? And off to the website I go. As I'm waiting for pages to load, I'm pulling out my CC just in case. Worst case scenario, I would put it away.:confused3

So after typing in all my info and hoping it goes through ... BAM! I snagged it.

So on our arrival night, we have a Chef Mickey's ADR. :woohoo:

The more I think about it, the more I remembered not liking it in 2009. So I'm going to do some research, and if I change my mind, I'll post it back on the board so someone else can try to snag it. The kids don't know yet. :thumbsup2

I'm hoping to finish up my "day to day" portion of the PTR this weekend, and then get started on my ADRs and some mini TRs. Then ... TRIVIA! :woohoo:

Yesterday was a busy day. I had my first Accounting test this semester. I checked my answers three times before I turned it in. There's only a few that I'm a bit iffy on, and it's possible that I didn't do some calculations correctly. I redid every calculation three times when I was rechecking my answers. Yes, I'm OCD. But I want an A in this class and I won't be happy unless I get it.

Today, I have a Stats test. Once I finish the Stats-CBR project, I'll also post the results here, just so you can see exactly what you helped me do! I have more than enough responses now, 40 was the minimum and I have 56. I'll add in any other responses I get though, as they could all affect the ending values. :thumbsup2 I'm very worried about my Stats test, as I keep having to check my notes when I do the practice problems, which means, I don't really know how to do them. Some of the formulas I don't know off the top of my head. I don't know why this is so hard to remember! I guess it's just that there are sooo many formulas and definitions! :scared1:

Anyway, I'm sure I'll do well, and all I really want is a B in this class. I'm looking forward to congratulating the girl who sits next to me for being on the Dean's List, too! She's such a sweet girl. We were in English together last semester, so it was nice to see someone I knew!

I think that's all for now.

That is great about snagging the Chef Mickey's ADR. I have read both good and bad reviews, we went there years ago and enjoyed the food offerings but the noise level was bad.

I was just over there tweeking my arrival day ADR's again, trying to surprise DH with that Marrakesh is driving me nuts

I'll stop touching my ADRs if you'll stop touching yours. :lmao:

So what did you tweak? :confused3

I remember it was loud ... and I remember the food not being great. IIRC, I left kinda hungry. Well, I ate a lot of sweets, but I don't remember enjoying the buffet. However, I may have missed something, because according to allears, there's a cold buffet area, too. All I saw was hot, and it only had a handful of options. So maybe I totally missed the rest? :confused3 I'll have to see if any plates show up in my pictures from 2009.

But I text DH to tell him that I snagged the ADR and he replied: Sounds like a win

In other words, I think he's kinda happy about it. So I'll keep it. I know the kids will love it. I'm not sure if I'll tell them or surprise them. DD keeps asking me about our plans. And she keeps asking if we'll do certain things or eat at certain places. She's very specific. Maybe I just won't volunteer the information. If they ask, I won't lie, but see if I can keep it a surprise. I just don't know how this will affect our arrival day plans. DH keeps talking like we won't make it until after lunch time ... so who knows.

Just got here, I have some catching up to do, but that's what the weekend is for...

Congrats on getting CM on your arrival date, that's what we are doing too. I remember the food being ok, but what a great way to get some of the big characters met the first day!!:thumbsup2

:welcome: I recommend catching up using the Table of Contents. :thumbsup2 It's not the perfect way, but it's great for those with busy schedules! :goodvibes

I asked DH if he remembered anything about it, and he said he didn't. So apparently it wasn't bad. And I looked through pictures, we did find a cold bar as I saw a bowl of honeydew on the table. :lmao: But I'm excited to see Mickey. Oh, the kids probably are, too. ;)

I ended up making the one at Marrakesh for 3:45pm instead of 4:15pm The show is @ 5 so I think that will still work out, they never seem that busy from pics I have seen so I will just stay seated for the show

I changed Cape May from 8:30 to 7:45, I figure we might have to wait to be seated there so I made it earlier, if we are lucky we might be able to catch IllumiNations from the bridge between BC and BWI when we are headed back, plus we should catch a couple of the BW performers maybe.

I am not touching mine anymore :rotfl: I said that a few times now

I have been to Chef Mickey's twice but they have both been for Breakfast. The food was basic breakfast food, but that wont help you because you will be going for Dinner.:lmao::lmao::lmao:
The charcter interaction is great though. Not many paces you can see the fab five and not have a long line. Plus they do a cute little thing were the wave their napkins in the air.

I am glad you were able to grab this one with the help of the Dis. The one I went on in May was also because of the help of the Dis. Singledad had a table for 5 people and the people he was going to meet didn't show up, lucky break for me and my DS.:thumbsup2

Can't wait to see pics.:thumbsup2

This is the worst day of the week. It's the day we must leave our home and go to our other home.

We'll get up early, moaning and groaning, and pack up. We'll get everything into the car, double check drawers, and then head over to OPR for breakfast. We'll use our last CS credit and have some yummy meals.

After breakfast, we'll hit the road.

We'll stop somewhere on the interstate for lunch and dinner, and hopefully arrive home around 8pm. It's always a long drive home. Hopefully the kids will still have movies and activities to keep them entertained. I'm sure they'll fight a bit, and we can't use the "If you don't stop we'll turn this car around and go home" bit, since that's where we're heading. :sad2:

Last time, Tink kept me occupied with text messages. So I may harrass her on the drive home. :rotfl2:

Once home, it will be a month or two before I'll have the motivation to unpack. (Please tell me I'm not alone.)

I'll probably get my PTR started that night, or the next morning. It will take me a few days to go through my pictures, and edit my PP pictures and get the CD ordered. I already have a tentative title for the TR, but we'll see what happens on the trip. It could always change. :goodvibes I just know it will be rough working on my TR, as I'll be suffering from the Disney Blues. :sad1:

Coming up: ADR stuff, Mini-TRs, and trivia! :woohoo:

So you just changed times, not places? Your plans sound really good though! If you eat slowly, then you'll definitely be there for the 5pm Marrakesh show! :thumbsup2

Now stop touching! :lmao:

We went in 2009, we just don't remember it very much. :confused3 We were very much rushed by our server, who was horrid. I hated that we couldn't tip what he should have been tipped. I remember the waving of napkins and thinking.. "Oh god, please don't have food on them!" :rotfl2:

The DIS is just awesome! I totally admit it!

Never been to CM but hope to go this next trip! You will have to tell me how it is.

I'm looking forward to a great time at CM's! I can't wait to tell you all about it so you can get excited for your future ADR there!! :goodvibes Hope you're doing well! You're on my mind a lot.
