March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

Fine, Fine! I see how it is.

I totally don't blame you. I wouldn't give that up for anyone either. :thumbsup2

YAY!

Hmm.... well I didn't think the buses would be running early enough. So if they'll be running, it would be easier on us to just take a bus. Then we can relax on the way back to the hotel at the end of the day. :lmao:

Good point. Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2

That is the only time in a million years that it will happen. Or ... it only happens at ST. :confused3 I guess we'll see what happens in March. But I can guarantee that if I threw money down, I'd lose everytime. :rotfl2:

I imagine we'll hit Starring Rolls for a cupcake around 10 or 11. If we did lunch, it would be later, around 1 or so. I am so getting a cupcake this year!!!!!!

I don't expect much from pizza there (and would probably see if they had a salad or something instead for me), but I know DS wants to go there. He's a huge TS fan. But I have to see if there's something DD can eat, since she can't have pizza (cheese = milk). Or we may split up. :confused3 If DS really wants PP, then the boys can go there and us girls can have a nice relaxed lunch somewhere else. :cloud9:

Oh that's hilarious! Our server was 100% "normal". DD didn't get praised for cleaning her plate (and when I told her that she ate all of her brother's veggies, the server was all "Good, they're healthy and good for you" and walked away). We would have loved to set the table, done homework, someone get sent to time out, etc. It's the main reason I booked it. However, the food was worth the trip anyway.

D in time out needs to be the most watched video on youtube. :thumbsup2

Sounds good!!! I love breakfast foods!

So are you betting or not? :confused3
:lmao:

What are you talking about?

I've never seen any pictures of pot roasts around here.... :confused3

Disney2011pictures058.jpg

I've never had breakfast at WDW.... So I'm very much looking forward to it, especially since I love to have breakfast for dinner! :cloud9:

I see where your priorities are. :lmao:

Good point!

If the buses are running, we'd much rather take one instead of driving. I just didn't think they'd be running that early. :confused3

Do whatever fits your schedule best. :goodvibes Or just join us. :lmao:

I think he'd volunteer! He was livid at me for "my poor planning" and missing out on TSM FPs last year. :sad2: I didn't think they'd all be gone THAT early. Oh, well.

Oh, mine is, too. Even if he's not out of bed yet.

DH said he'd never go back. I would like to see it. But I have to compromise and understand that I can't do everything I want and get everything I want on vacation.

Honestly, I'm okay to give up MK if we decide to make changes. So long as I have enough notice to cancel CP without being charged. :thumbsup2 I also read that the Liberty boat will be on refurb through May. It was supposed to be operational for our trip ... and now it won't be. No biggie, but I'm getting really tired of the refurbs.

I hear ya! I would love to dine more at Epcot! If we had PHs, it might be where we take most of our meals.

Lidian, first TY for posting that about the Riverboat. I checked one day last week and it was still scheduled to be open during our stay :headache: I am so mad  too. It is one of my favorite things to do at MK and this is the second time now that it was closed during one of my trips.
I said to DH you are never gonna guess what they are closing now for a refurb and he guessed :rotfl:

I hope there are no more surprises poppping up.

I saw it posted on FB. :sad2: It was closed last May when I was there (I think it opened the day after our MK day or something, so we just barely missed it). I told DH a few moments ago, and he asked what all was down for refurbs. He then asked ... "What are we going to be able to do at WDW this year?" I told him I didn't know. Maybe swim a lot. :lmao: He's voted to skip MK totally this year. I think I'm going to wait and see before I sign MK off completely. If they don't have ANY of the new FL stuff open ... yep, I'm just going to skip MK 100%. Right now, we've agreed to a couple of hours in the AM and then find something else to do. We're hoping for HOT weather and lots of sun. We'll add the WPFM option and we'll hit BB 2-3x during our stay.

I'M OVER THE REFURBS!!!!!!

We only do 1 day at MK usually :rolleyes1 It is honestly not my favorite park.

I prefer Epcot though I do love AK too.

The game looks cool. I bet DD would love that.

I agree, I am waaay over the refurbs... We have never ridden the Liberty Belle - and that is something that is on my must do list this time... Very frustrating. If it wasn't for Splash - We'd probably avoid MK too... However we have 2 days scheduled there, and we go to WDW so rarely that I just like to take in all the emotions and enjoy the heightened senses you can only find in MK.

DH has voted for another day at Epcot. I'm in agreement. I guess I'm going to wait and see how things play out for a few more weeks. As it stands right now, it's just a few hours in the AM and a few hours in the PM that we'd be there.

If you end up doing it you will have to let us know how it went.

Of course I won't share that kind of private information! :p

You know it will be all in my TR. :thumbsup2

DH asked about Splash. I told him if he wanted to ride it, he was welcome to, but I hate being wet. :cat: He said, "Good point, let's just skip MK." :rotfl2: Honestly, if it's nice, we'll spend time at the pool or BB. If it's not nice, who knows. :confused3

I was actually wanting to ride it this year, take some pictures ... as last time I was so upset and tense when we rode it (long story). However, if they close one more thing in MK, I'm just going to skip it. Because it will be something else on my must do I'm sure. Why can't it be stuff that no one goes to see for entertainment? Why can't it be the napping areas? Why can't it be the attractions that people only see to get out of the heat, off their feet, or to avoid rain?:sad2:

Yep, I'm done. Someone left this soap box in my way and I had to step on it to get around it. :lmao:

So here we are, our final park day. Well, if I live long enough. ;)

So where are you going? Everyone's waiting.

Well ... let's see here. I said I was going to IoA and USO, right?

Yes. :guilty:

And we've covered: IoA, AK, DHS, MK ...

Yes....

So that only leaves one thing.

Oh. Yay for USO.... :headache:

Oh... did I forget to tell you that DH said he didn't want to go to USO?

Really? So that means ...

EPCOT!

Yep, we'll be at Epcot on March 8th. We'll meet Kouga and Akki at the gate in time for RD. We'll head straight to Soarin'. I gotta beat D to all the FPs. :thumbsup2

After we get our FPs, we'll probably head over to TT and ride. Whatever the plan, we'll explore FW all morning.

For lunch, I'm still hoping to meet up with D and her girls, as well as Corrine, in Mexico! YUM!

Oh please save us all! :worship:

Okay, so maybe not Mexico. :lmao::rotfl2: But I am hoping to meet up with some DISers for lunch, somewhere. I'm not too picky. I'd prefer not Norway, as that's where we'll be at for dinner.

I haven't decided if we're going to do the Storytime Experience or not. Both kids adored it last year ... but I'm afraid if we book it, it will take too much time out of our day. I really need to work on Flat Fox.

Recap: The kids have a fox as their school mascot. We'll be taking him around WSC for a school project for their culture class. They'll take Flat Fox into each country and get some pictures of him. I'll do a PowerPoint presentation and write up a script. The kids will get to show the PP presentation in their culture class. :thumbsup2

DS's teacher also wants Flat Fox to visit flowers, since they're covering Spring and Flowers around that time. So Flat Fox will visit topiaries, gardens, and anything else "spring-like" that I can find. (Flat Fox may make it to other parks, pending on teacher requests for related assignments.) DS will get a 2nd PP to show in his class.

We'll tour as much as possible and see as much as possible. We'll skip EO (unless they change it to something new) and probably Journey into the Imagination.

I'd love to spend some time in Innoventions. So we just really need to keep moving to get it all done. It is, however, feasible. We won't take a mid-day break, but push through. (Hey, breaks are a new thing for us!)

We have dinner for 6 at Akershus. DD is looking forward to the Princesses. I asked Kouga & Akki if they'd be okay with dining with Princesses, they were. Dinner is early, 4:55. I didn't enjoy my entree last time, so I have to go back and redeem myself. :thumbsup2

We'll have to skip out early so we can make it to the DISmeet at POR. So no IllumiNations. IllumiNations is the only night-show that DH actually likes. So DH may stay and meet up with me later. :confused3

DD is very much looking forward to the DISmeet as well! She's a bit nervous that some of the other girls won't like her. :guilty: I keep reminding her that the other girls may be worried, too. And that they're all going to have a blast! :cloud9: DS just hopes he has someone to talk trains and Donald with. :lmao: And of course, DH is hoping for some dads to talk geek and "Disney-dislike" with.

Seriously, can I get a list of geek-dads so DH will potentially go? He would rather go back to the room. He's afraid he won't be able to relate to any dads -- so long as he can have someone who can relate "Yeah, I don't like coming here ... too much money, blah blah blah, but do it for wife and kids.... would rather be (gaming, relaxing, on the beach, home, etc)....blah blah blah." Gamers would be awesome ... then again, DH might spend the night with your family if he has someone to talk games with. :lmao:

Now no one will answer if they have a geek DH.

I know, but I really want DH to make a new friend, too.

So how do they get rid of your DH?

I dunno ... :confused3 I can bring a leash I guess. :thumbsup2

Not sure if Kouga & Akki will go to the DISmeet. They're locals, but when I say "local", they're FL residents. I think they're about an hour, hour and a half away. So it's not a long drive, but since they'll be making that drive a few times over the week, it adds up. And they may be exhausted and ready to go home.

After the DISmeet, it's back to CBR for packing. We need lots of good rest.

Me Too  Me Too

Although as of now I am planning on going to DTD that morning to try and maybe ride the Characters in Flight Balloon if it is operateing after we have breakfast at Cap'ts Grill that morning.

We are having a late lunch (1:35pm) at Le Cellier , we are like 2 ships in the night that keep passing :rotfl2:

We are doing dinner at Biergarten at 6:15pm so we might pass you again (Norway is close to Germany)

Since it is our last evening we are planning on staying for Illuminations then head back to BWI to pack up also, sorry we won't be at the DIS meet as I think Your DH and mine would get along great.

I'd actually stopped thinking about where we should meet for lunch, because I didn't think we were meeting... I better get back to thinking about it.

Yep, I'm done. Someone left this soap box in my way and I had to step on it to get around it. :lmao:

Can someone name the "nap ride" in the WORST need of a refurb? Anyone? COP!!!!!! :scared1: Now, don't slay me, I totally made my family go on it last time because of the old line "but, it's a classic", but seriously?!? That thing is so outdated! Great concept in need of an overhaul. See, Liddy? I am on the soapbox with you! :lmao:

Oh, your DD need not worry! My 9 yr old does not meet a stranger, and every new friend is a best friend. :rotfl: Seriously, they will be friends for life I am sure! :thumbsup2 And my DS is not shy and will hit it off with your DS too. They can have fun and talk about random little boy stuff like little boys do!

I have a geek DH!!!! He is a Star Wars geek and he is an XBox 360 gamer too. They will get along great! DH ONLY comes to Disney for the wife and kids...that's his story and he's sticking to it! ;) In reality, he is ALMOST as guilty as I am of the conversations that begin with "next time we go to Disney..." :lovestruc

It's going to be a great Dismeet, even more so if you all have a meet in Mexico beforehand...
:lmao::rotfl2::rotfl:

^ Trying to up my post count again - hope you don't mind...

Hey Lidian,

Your Epcot day looks good. You are going to have to fight me for those FP for soarin' and since I wont have anyone slowing me down I will get there faster. BWa Hahaha. :lmao:

I am totally there for lunch in Epcot. I pretty much up for anything since I have only eaten at two places in Epcot. Coral Reef and the Cantina de San Angel. Hopefully I will not fee to wierd being the only single amongst the groups.:lmao:

I am so excited.:banana::woohoo::dance3::yay::cheer2:

So I see a day where our paths could actually meet might actually be my BIRTHDAY! Right now I kinda want to spend a little bit of time at the MK as I just love it and want to see the castle on my birthday...but then our afternoon is slated for EPCOT right up until we leave for the airport for our flight. If I have anything to do with it, we'll leave EPCOT around 4:30pm or so but if it's up to DH it might be closer to 3pm...for our 6:35pm flight! :lmao:

Anyway I do have plans to eat lunch at Chef de France that day, so perhaps I'll see you wandering around there as well! ;)

I couldn't agree more on all of the MK rehabs...it sucks...but it still won't deter me from visiting. There's just something magical about being there. I could ride Pirates and Haunted Mansion all day...if everyone else doesn't have the same idea with everything else being closed. And COP is a MUST do as well as Space Mountain. I will definitely miss BTMRR but I am hoping we really do get a soft opening on Dumbo and a sneak peak at Fantasyland! ;)

I can't believe we're so close and this trip will be here before we know it!!! :cool1:

Me Too Me Too

Although as of now I am planning on going to DTD that morning to try and maybe ride the Characters in Flight Balloon if it is operateing after we have breakfast at Cap'ts Grill that morning.

We are having a late lunch (1:35pm) at Le Cellier , we are like 2 ships in the night that keep passing

We'll definitely have to meet up at some point and say "hello"! I do hate that you're missing the DISmeet, but I'll forgive you, just this once. :lmao: But you have to at least find me and say "hi" (unless you stalk our table at Kouzzina's). I do want to meet you and your DH, even if it's a quick-in-passing meet. :goodvibes

OK - sooo... NO ONE COULD BE MORE EXCITED THAN I AM!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! (yes, I did just yell that!) I am soooo happy that you didn't change this day! I was fine with it - I promise I was - but I was really looking forward to meeting you and your family in Epcot...

I'd actually stopped thinking about where we should meet for lunch, because I didn't think we were meeting... I better get back to thinking about it.

Lookin' forward to the Dismeet too!

D~

I'm so glad you're happy! I'm super excited to meet you and your girls! We don't "have" to do lunch, but if you're up for it, I'm up for it. We'll have Kouga & Akki (and hopefully Corrine!). Not sure if you'd be comfy hanging out with that many strangers ... and some of us are just strange. ;) Actually, we could get rid of the boys and have a girls lunch. :lmao: Hmm... :scratchin

^ ^ ^ Someone's trying to up her post count again. :rolleyes1

Can someone name the "nap ride" in the WORST need of a refurb? Anyone? COP!!!!!! Now, don't slay me, I totally made my family go on it last time because of the old line "but, it's a classic", but seriously?!? That thing is so outdated! Great concept in need of an overhaul. See, Liddy? I am on the soapbox with you!

So this was your soapbox just laying around? Don't you know how to clean up your boxes? :lmao:

I actually love CoP. I think it could use some lovin', but it was actually on my "to do" list. I know, I'm odd. But I do agree, it needs love. And I would rather have BTMRR than CoP. And Dumbo!

Oh, your DD need not worry! My 9 yr old does not meet a stranger, and every new friend is a best friend. Seriously, they will be friends for life I am sure! And my DS is not shy and will hit it off with your DS too. They can have fun and talk about random little boy stuff like little boys do!

I just read DD your message and she's looking forward to a new BFF. :goodvibes My DS, I do worry about him, because he's scared of his own shadow. So I hope he'll play and make friends. :thumbsup2 I'm sure he'll have a Thomas train in his pocket to play with.

I have a geek DH!!!! He is a Star Wars geek and he is an XBox 360 gamer too. They will get along great! DH ONLY comes to Disney for the wife and kids...that's his story and he's sticking to it! In reality, he is ALMOST as guilty as I am of the conversations that begin with "next time we go to Disney..."

It's going to be a great Dismeet, even more so if you all have a meet in Mexico beforehand...

I'll be sure to let DH know. I think he's skeptical about getting along with a "Disney dad". :sad2: So we'll have to sit them down together and say, "Okay, geek it up!" :rotfl2:

My DH has said many times "Next time.... " and "Next year .... " But later he swears he never said it.

^ Trying to up my post count again - hope you don't mind...

D~

You should be ashamed!
:lmao::rotfl2:

Now that you mention it....I am a "DIS Veteran" now and hadn't even noticed!!! What are you shooting for D~?

Huzzah for being a Vet! :woohoo: Isn't Vet as high as it goes?

Yeah, but DH is over 6' and he has long strides. He might beat you. :rotfl2:

Lunch will be CS, but hoping you'll join us! You have my number, so you can text me anytime you want to meet up! :thumbsup2 And you can tag along with us as much as you'd like. We won't mind! :goodvibes The more the merrier!! :woohoo:

That's right, I have to come test your FO soup to make sure it's not dangerous to eat ... because I'm such a great DIS-friend! :p

I think you should totally spend some MK time. However, if you make it to EP, you have to meet up with me so I can wish you a Happy Birthday in person!

I couldn't agree more on all of the MK rehabs...it sucks...but it still won't deter me from visiting. There's just something magical about being there. I'm hoping for a soft opening ... but not holding my breath. I love seeing the castle and all the sights ... but just going to play it by ear and be flexible right now. :goodvibes

Yes, it's coming up on us!!!!!! :woohoo:

When is the DISmeet?

I don't blame you or your husband for skipping MK. I'm not up on my closure dates, will TT be closed at Epcot while you're here? I heard they are putting in a FP at nemo to help with crowd control.

We were at AK yesterday. There were quite a few pardon our appearance signs. Kali was closed, the right exit after you pass the photopass person was closed. That made for quite a bottle neck getting out of the park at closing. It wasn't crowded yesterday, so traffic out of the park kept moving, but it did get very congested until the turnstiles.

Than maybe I should just have hand over my KTTW card and meet you all up there, but with my luck mine will be the one that gets dropped.:lmao: Maybe we should rent some of those scooters that TK was always talking about and run some people over.:rotfl2: (Talking about TK, where has she been:confused3) Thanks for the invite, I might just have to take you up on that.:goodvibes

The Dismeet is on March 8th at Yee Haw Bob's from 9-10pm... There are a lot of us that will be in Epcot that day, and some of us would like to stay for Illuminations... It's gonna be a late night! Do you think you'll be able to come???? I know I would love to meet you!
