March 2012: Spring Break, Here we come! Threadjackers take over the world!

Actually if it were me coming via Epcot's InterNational Gateway I would hop on the Friendship boat to head over to DHS. It is well over a mile walk to DHS.

Actually, I should have been more clear about my intentions... We are going from Epcot IG to Cape May buffet, not going to DHS at all that day. :wizard: But I do understand what you are saying - there is enough walking at WDW, might as well hitch a ride when you can. :thumbsup2

We walk quite often from DHS to Epcot. or we get off at the Swan or Dolphin. those boats give me a headache LOL

Ugh, I forgot about Robo's amazing maps! Thanks for the links!!!!!

Love your new plans and that you'll get to spend that quality time with DD at DHS now! Sounds like fun! :)

We have yet to try Kouzzina but it's on my list as a future one to try for sure. Since we are staying at Boardwalk this trip, I am keeping it open as a dinner option just in case we need one. :)

I highly recommend it! It was so YUM! I can't wait to go back! I was trying to not make repeats of things ... so we could explore more options, but this works out so perfect! :cloud9:

Oh no! A headache? :scared: Now I'm not so sure I want to take a boat. :headache: I get headaches and migraines so easily nowadays. :sad2:

I think it's from all those sucky books you have to read lately... :rolleyes1

D~ <--- who printed a couple of Robo's maps to put in her MP. :cool1:

Did you know that my Excel class says to spend 8-10 hours a week studying and doing homework? I spent over 10 hours the other day, and not even halfway done with the work assigned. :sad2:

And then my Accounting class ... the first one was too easy, and this one is too hard. This is just wrong. The first one should be harder and this one should be slightly easier, so they transition better. :headache:

That is truly insane Liddy... All that boring reading would definately put me into a coma - I dunno how you do it?

The thought of a WDW trip coming up keeps me motivated. :lmao:

No, seriously, Just gotta push through and keep positive. I keep reminding myself WHY I'm going back to college. All it takes is a look at those precious kids of mine. :lovestruc

I agree with D. Balancing college and family must be very challenging.

It is extremely challenging, and don't let anyone in my shoes tell you otherwise (they're lying or trying to make themselves look awesome). However, it is so worth it. I'll be able to give our family a better life once I'm done, AND, I'll have a career in my "dream" field. Maybe not my dream-job, per-say, but at least I'll be qualified to do my dream-job once I can get it (if I can get it). :thumbsup2

I try to do homework while the kids are at school and while they're doing homework and chores. Then I break and spend time with the kids, do some stuff around the house, and start back on studying once the kids are showering and sleeping. And I take quick breaks periodically to keep my sanity. :lmao:

It's truly ... an experience. :thumbsup2

Yeah, yeah ... I know. Stop making changes. But ... I just can't help it!

Here's my current situation...

DH and I have talked, and we would really like to see USF and IoA ... and SW. While it won't be possible to see all three, we could, potentially, see two.

I'd have to make some changes ... like give up at least one day, perhaps two in the parks. So I'm thinking if I have to give up a day, then it would be our first Epcot day. If we have to give up two ... maybe AK or MK. I know, I know. I'm really torn if I have to give up a second day ... but we may just go to USF or IoA.

What to do? :confused3

DH hasn't confirmed anything, as he's not overly happy with investing more money into our trip ... I've laid out the cost: tickets, parking, and some food (lunch and maybe snacks). We'll eat dinner at a WDW resort with our TS credits and use any remaining CS credits on "junk" food.

On the other hand ........

I'm also debating on not adding PH's to DD and my tickets. I think instead I'd like to spend time with each child doing something special. But I really don't know what. :confused3 Plus, I'm secretly hoping that if we don't do USF/IoA/SW that maybe we can get a WP day added, or something else fun.

Anyway ... recommendations for something (inexpensive) to do with each child one-on-one to make the trip special? I thought about taking tea with DD, but not sure how I could fit that into our schedule. :sad2: I'd love some feedback. :thumbsup2

Since so much is closed and I wasn't too excited about HS anyway, we have decided to take that day and go down to LegoLand this year. We are planning on going back after the Fantasyland opens anyway, so we can use one park day to drive down there. It is only about 45 mins southwest of WDW. I know DS will love it and I think Mommy will too ;) It looks like something that I want to do when he is little vs waiting a few years. Is you DS into Legos?

He's not really into legos. I mean, he likes them okay, I guess, but he doesn't play with his often. I don't think he'd really be interested in a land, and I don't know if I could even drive in FL. So it would defeat the purpose. I'd kinda like to keep the activities more local. :thumbsup2

However, that is an awesome suggestion and if you do it, I can't wait to hear all about it!!! :yay:

Sorry, I saw your post last night, but I just didn't have time to respond...

I like your ideas, but I am just not sure what you could do as something special with each child... I am really not good at that sort of thing. For us, the whole special factor is just the trip itself.

Does dd get into BBB - maybe the DTD one? OR taking her for a carriage ride at POR?

Sorry I am so bad at this... :rolleyes1

I'm not comfortable with taking DD to BBB with her current "hair-style". :rolleyes1

Maybe we can go resort exploring or something. I dunno. Right now I have to find out if we're going to USF/IoA/SW and how many days I need to plan for it.

I had no ideas at all until you said about resort hopping. AKL is a great resort for exploreing IMO the store has some very unique items and might make for a fun shopping spree, maybe lunch at Mara and the lobby has lots of artifacts to look at and then you have all the animals. If you girl likes animals she might have fun there.

Another idea might be if you go to SW, not sure what it is called but they have a dolphin encounter where you can swim with the dolphins and I know you can also buy fishes and feed the dolphins.

I guess I can't really make any good decisions until DH decides on USF/IoA/SW. :sad2:

But resort hopping might be fun to do! I think I'd even enjoy it. I think once DH decides and I can FINALIZE everything, I'll try to make a list and set aside a few hours for each child and see what they'd like to do from the list.

Perhaps DD and I take a trip to IoA and the boys take a day off. :rolleyes1 Granted, I'm not sure I can handle driving in FL ... I do good to get around town, but won't drive Knoxville. (I take the parkway - I140 - to school and back, but that's it....and it makes me nervous!) :scared:

HOLD UP! Is that changes I see?
Why yes, yes it is. Details coming soon! :woohoo:

WHAT???

WHERE???

I see nothing!!!!
