I know we will probably never see that 4/3 offer again like we did in 2009 and 2010 but I will take anything!

Joining in!!! We had the 4/3 deal in 2009 (in May) and this past March we had 25% off at the Poly. Need some sort of discount to make the Poly more affordable!! We're looking at March 2/3-10

I'm in for this thread! We are booked to go to the YC next March, but I am really hoping to not pay full rate.

In March 2010 we were booked full rate at the WL and then the 4for3 deal came out and we moved to the CR for more than $1000 cheaper.

I would really like to stay at the YC but will be open to switching if we can get a good discount. For the record... 9 months feels like forever away!:upsidedow

We are going November 11 through 20, but we are also looking to go ahead March 24 through April 1. Hoping for some kind of discount!

What are the chances there will be any discount for early March? From pricing out the whole year, it looks like a March 9th (my 39th birthday!!) trip would be $200 more than January or August at POR. I guess it's all relative, but it would be nice to upgrade to a preferred room for $200 rather than pay more on the base room.

BTW, are my chances at a code better if I'm booking a deluxe resort? With a family of 5, it seems like our choices are limited.

I am waiting as well. We are booked at the Poly right now for March 6-12 and the price is killing me. We are DVC members and we normally just use points but we are out of points for our yearly March trip. We are actually thinking of doing an add on because our rack rate for Poly is half of the add on we would need to make the trip.

I think it is anyone's guess as to what or if any kind of discount will be offered for March 2012. You can check mousesavers for historic discounts for that time of year. We are hoping for enough of a discount to upgrade from POP to Riverside but we'll be happy to be going to Disney no matter what we get.

I don't know why you would think that there won't be any discounts like in 2008, 2009, 2010 and 2011. it is illogical to think that all of a sudden WDW is going to just charge rack rate for everything and never ever again discount or have free dining.

They have already released discounts for the end of the year.

They have? I haven't seen any discounts for October-December yet.

You are right of course -- It is unlikely that discounts will disappear. But based on their corporate statements, and based on their discounting behavior over the last several months.... one would expect future discounts to be less and less generous. With tighter qualifying requirements, more blackout dates, etc.

But as long as full rates are 2-3 times comparable offsite hotels.... I find it hard to believe Disney can consistently fill their bookings without discounts.

Who said there wouldn't be ANY discount? :confused3
In 2009 and 2010 Disney offered a buy 4 nights get 3 nights free package in March. This was NOT offered in 2011. I have doubts that they will offer it in 2012 either but we all have hope that some kind of discount will be available. That is why this thread was started.

We are looking at March 9-18. I am curious if that will be a crowded time...Our reason for possibly choosing that week is that my DS18 will have college break at that time and will be able to travel. DS23 also has law school break that week and can go. I guess what I am really looking for is that the spring break week for younger school-age kids in your area.

I don't mind comfortable crowded. I hate body-to-body packed!

My daughter's spring break starts on the 19th and she is a 3rd grader. In our area the schools seem to have spring that week, the week before or the week of Easter.

Hate to break bad news.. But you are looking at one of the most crowded weeks of the entire year.

Well when we went to disney world in 2009 for spring break march 13-21 it wasnt that crowded the most we did in line was 30 minutes. Except for soarin and toys story mania.

Yeah...I think you're right. I found the thread on another DIS board where a poll was taken asking when DISer's have spring break in 2012. About 20% of respondents (and there were a lot of participants) said they have spring break that week. Only two other weeks near Easter had (slightly) more...Bummer.

I do know the "safe" weeks vary from year to year.
