March 2011 car rentals

How far in advance can you book a car? I have tried for the end of March 2011 and Alamo has no availability. Is it like an airline that you can only book a certain number of days out?

I just booked with two different car rental companies.......to keep my options open as they require no deposit, for march 2011........The prices were not that bad I thought so I wanted to secure it........between 600-650 for a mini van for 14 days. I will check the companies and pm you.
