March 2008

Be sure and keep me posted about the band. You can email me pictures if you like. jlmcnab@cogeco.ca.

Make sure you tell me your screen name in the email so I know who sent them.

You are awesome!

I'll post here and send you one just to make sure and I'll be sure to put my screen name in the subject line.

Thanks again!

We are going March 21-28. I know that it is the week after Easter, but in all honesty I have been there over Easter a bunch of times and never had a problem. Easter is crazy, but not as bad as Christmas :santa: was or the summer, when not only is it crowded but you feel like you are about 5 feet from the sun!!:scared: We are going with a huge crowd this time, 10 in all and staying in a Grand Villa at Saratoga Springs. We can't wait.

candizfan...

Here are some photos for ya! I'm also going to email them to you.

Carterville Marching Lions...so you can see the uniforms

CartervilleMarchingLions8.jpg

DS is the short one on the right...He's usually in that position when they march, but he's always the shortest one...gets it from his mom...lol (These are their hot weather uniforms, but I'm guessing they'll use the wool dress uniforms for WDW.)

DS is the one on the left this time...usual marching position.

Again, thanks for the support for DS's band! It's awesome! When I told him that there were going to be a few people from the DIS boards there and our friends from Texas, he got pretty quiet. I think in his teenager way that means he's touched.

Thanks momsgoofy! I can't wait to try and see them play.

I think you are right about the quiet means he likes the idea. My DD is 12 now and I am starting to see all of that sort of thing. She plays the flute but in the concert band.

We have a high school here that has a lot of different bands and two of them travel a lot. I am hoping she decides to get into that since it is such a different experience than travelling with your mom along.

:surfweb: What's up with your plans?

I'm working on touring plans, and shopping online for clothes for the trip.

I have decided I don't have enough ADRs. Due to the size of the crowds in March, I figured out that I may need to plan more than I usually do.

So I am looking at menus and trying to find out which parks to avoid each day we are there....

I'm going to stick with the original plan. We will go back to CSR early evening and eat dinner at Pepper Market.
I will not get carried away with ADRs and having to run everywhere!:lmao:

We're going the 19th-23rd. It's a short trip and we only have 3 day hoppers. I'm trying to figure out our touring plan and I keep second guessing myself. Right now I have

19th- DTD (we get in too late to do a park)
20th- MK (EMH in the am, break in the afternoon to resort and head back around 5)
21st- DS(MGM) EMH morning- lunch ADR @ SciFi , MK evening
22nd- AK EMH morning- Breakfast ADR @ Tusker House, EP evening or DTD
23rd- ADR breakfast at resort and head to airport.

But the more I stay on DIS the more I keep finding to do or change! There is a Pirate Cruise from our resort that my son would love, but we would have to nix a half day at MK. I'm not sure how much he would miss there, he loves Star Wars, Power Rangers etc but definately couldn't care less about Dumbo or Princesses. Plus all the books and trip planners advise against using EMH. I'm so confused!

DS started with piano in 3rd grade, added trombone summer before 4th grade, bass guitar in 7th grade, tuba in 8th grade, and slide trumpet this year. Because DH also plays piano and sings professionally (not full time though) everyone assumes that I am just as musical, but I'm not. I play the radio is what I tell them or that someone has to be the support person. DS is active in marching, pep, concert, and jazz bands, plus he does the pit for the school musicals. It also means 2 hours of lessons a week, too, for the rest of this school year. He's decided that he's gotten too many other things he'd rather do so he's dropping the piano, which is fine. I know it's his least favorite.

Again, thanks for the support for DS's marching band and the offer to email me any photos you take of them! It's very kind of you!

We will be there from 3/1 - 3/8. :goodvibes We had originally planned to go in Feb (9-16) and I was thrilled thinking it would be low crowds. Well now that we've had to reschedule, I'm a bit worried about crowds. I know spring breaks will begin in March but I'm hoping the first week won't be too bad. Anyone know?

Btw, here is our itinerary:
Sat (3/1)- Morning at condo getting organized, grocery shopping then DTD for shopping and dinner.

Sun (3/2)-Breakfast at Chef Mickeys at 10:20 then whatever the kids want to do...ride the monorail, tour resorts, probably will pop in at MK for a bit.

Mon (3/3)- Segway Tour at 9am (dh and ds16) and Epcot for the day.

Tues (3/4)- Bfast on the run- make opening for MK. Leave when we feel like it

Wed (3/5)- Bfast at condo. Rest of the day until closing at AK. Dinner at Boma at 6:25.

Thurs (3/6) -Dinner at 'Ohana at 5:25. Then P&P party at 7 (or as soon as we're finished eating.)

Fri (3/7) -Bfast at condo, then DHS and Fantasmic at 7.

Sat (3/8)- Departure day :sad2: I'm already dreading it.....

Your DH and DS will LOVE the segway tour! DH & I just did that 1/8 and it caused me to have to redo our March trip planning...DH wants to do the Backtrail Adventure segway tour at Ft. Wilderness. Depending on the time of the tour and the opening time for Epcot that day your family can watch them during the practice part inside Innoventions. That way you could take more photos of them.

Yes- they are really looking froward to it. Ds16 isn't thrilled with Disney (he loves Busch Gardens) but I'm sure this will make him appreciate it more.
Please tell me- what is this Backtrail Adventure tour? I haven't heard of it.
