March 1st-3rd, 2012 Disney Dream to the Bahamas

Hi everyone! To ensure that we have enough time to collect/make our FE goodies, let's take one more week to sign up for the FE list. So, if you're interested or know that others are interested, please add your info to the spreadsheet by the end of day Sunday, February 5th!! If you have any questions, don't hesitate to ask or send me a PM.

Hi all!

Just a quick intro: my DH/60 and I/56 will be sailing on this cruise. This will be my 10th DCL cruise which is most exciting as it means I will be a Platinum Castaway Club member on my *next* cruise in May on the new Disney Fantasy! I have been on the 3-night Disney Dream cruise 5 previous times, so I mostly treat Nassau as a sea day (meaning that I camp out in the adult-only Quiet Cove area close to the pool and hot tub and just relax!). Others have posted a lot of great info for those of you who are first-timers, so scroll back and read their posts for packing and planning info. My recommendations are:
1) take the ship tour, usually offered right after boarding
2) ride the Aqua Duck water coaster at least once
3) forgo the fancy restaurants and just experience all 3 rotational dining restaurants since there are only 3 nights (next time, you can book Palo and/or Remy) - if you miss Animators Palate, you will be sorry!
4). Don't miss the fireworks on Pirate night!
5). Do at least one of the interactive mystery games that are unique to this ship
6)Bring a highlighter pen so you can plot out activities you do not want to miss in your Personal Navigator
7) Go to the shows! Disney has the best shows on the seas! Especially, do not miss the show that is exclusive to the Disney Dream, usually done on Sat night, called Disney's Believe!
8). Itinerary for packing/planning: usually, Thurs night - cruise casual b/c you may not get your bags to change for dinner (esp if you have Main or earlier dining time); Fri night after Nassau - Pirate night (costumes optional but fun!); Sat night after Castaway Cay - formal (optional) night. Kids dress up as pirates or princesses all the time and there are characters everywhere, plus set times to get in line to meet your favorites (the lines are WAY shorter than in the parks)
9)Don't be afraid to have fun and be a kid at heart - that's what Disney is all about!!
See you there!

Hello!

Thank you for the information! Perhaps we'll see you aboard :thumbsup2

For those that are doing the Fish Extenders that have children under 12, can you specify what Disney characters your children like? Not sure if i can accommodate everyone, but would like to match the character to the child if i'm able to with what i'm doing.
Thanks :thumbsup2

Jack (11) likes pirates (Jack Sparrow) and also Toy Story and Classic Mickey!

I will be on the ship with all of you in 19 DAYS! I am SOOOOO EXCITED!
I have 2 lil girls who are 5&6. We are all first timers but will be with their godmother who is a seasoned cruiser. We have booked water excursions at blue lagoon and at castaway cay. The girls can not wait to get into the clubs. They have already planned on dining and playing all 3 nights. I am a MAJOR planner and am so ready to give it up and ENJOY every second of this trip. We are going to be at WDW prior to boarding so it should be a GREAT week for us.
HAPPY VACATION EVERYONE!

My son is 11 and likes pirates and just plain old Mickey! Less than 20 days to set sail! Did we get a final list on the FE exchange?

Hi! Here is the final FE exchange spreadsheet.
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheet/ccc?key=0AmEo7JZWX9sydDFZcEt6amZXeFB2czVvY1c0Wi1FMWc#gid=0

I think it'll be more fun to spread out distribution of the goodies over the three nights that we're on the ship! I debated creating a schedule but realized some families may be making things for pirate night and would want to pass out their treats earlier in the vacation rather than later. So, let's all just try to space out our treat giving across the three nights. We have 10 staterooms participating!

If you know someone who is not on the disboards but on the exchange list, please pass this info to them! Thanks! As always, do not hesitate to ask any questions.

I can't wait!

Beth

I've been off this post for awhile & looks like lots has been going on. Too bad I missed out on the FE but I hope y'all will post pics of your goodies when we all return. Anyway, I know everyone's excited!!

I'm refining my packing list everyday for our few days @ Disney World before -weather is looking great & I'm hoping it lasts so we, literally, have smooth sailing. We usually stay @ POR but I've booked us a pirate room @ CB to set the mood for our cruise!! DH doesn't know & I hope it will be a fun surprise for him.

I hope to have the opportunity to meet some of my fellow DISer's!

Have fun, everyone!

:dance3:

Hi all.
Obviously I haven't been on in a while. I didn't realize someone organized this. If it's not too late, I'd love for my son, Aiden (age 6 turning 7), to participate. I added my name to the spreadsheet before I got down to the deadline post. Also, if it's not too late, has an approximate price been discussed?

Thanks,
Kimberly

Hi Kimberly! I'm excited to have you and your son as part of our FE group. Because the deadline was last week, many people may have already purchased and/or assembled an exact number of gifts. However, I know I have planned for extras so please hang up that fish extender because you'll be receiving at least one treat!! :) We never decided on a price-point but expressed that these gifts are not intended to break the bank. If anyone else knows they will have additional goodies, please include Kimberly's stateroom to their list. Below is the up-to-date list!

The Syracuse clan have planned for extras as well... I can speak for our group, but some may have their FE gifts all set. Be sure to put up your FE onboard, and please make sure that you register your stateroom information at the link on Beth's (DCLDivaB) post. Looking forward to possibly seeing you all onboard :thumbsup2

Hello everyone ,

i know it`s verry late but ..... could we also join your FE :grouphug:

We are doing a b2b and totally forgot to check the board concerning our part 2 of this trip ! lol .... i was so into it, that for me, we were going on a 7 night cruise ... so didnt think twice about checking for a thread about our second segment :(

We are a family of 4, DD10 & DS7. We did FE for the first time last year ( after 8 disney cruises, we never knew what those were ) and we loved it so much. The fun we had before dinner to sneak and put away our gift in people fish extender was really really another one of the nicest experience our kids had on a Disney cruise.

We, then also, participated verry late in a group so we received only maybe 2 or 4 gifts out of the 15 stateroom that participated but, we didnt mind. We honestly had as much fun delivering ours. On some occasion i put myself various items in our fish extender and the kids were happy :woohoo:

So let us know if we can join you guys. We would really appreciate it. I will go now read the 4 pages of this thread.

Thank you

Josee, for the Barbeau family.

For those just jumping on board the FE's, can you give me your children's favorite character...Disney or Pixar? Not sure if i can accommodate all wishes, but would like to know what the kids like. Still working on different ideas. Thanks:thumbsup2

Also, if you're interested in what other children like, see the above posts.
For the friends i'll be traveling with, these are their characters...

Brayden..Toy Story
Katelyn...Princesses
Alexis.....Cheshire Cat
Alana.....Jasmine

Any other questions, feel free to ask :thumbsup2
