March 18, 2012 Spring Break on the Dream

In my experience it's best to try to meet the first day, before the drill. Say 3:00, DLounge? That's like the Promenade Lounge on the classic ships, right? This is my first time on the Dream so I'm not too sure of the lounges. On my first cruise we planned to meet on deck by the sailaway party, but it was way too hard to find people. Inside works better. It's great if you have kids too, it helps if they can "make friends" before heading to the clubs that night. I hope to see everyone there, I'm so excited!

Also- a suggestion for FE participants (I'm not doing the FE this time, but I have on all 7 previous cruises): come to the meet! Often one or more families will end up with a cabin change, either buying an upgrade at the port or getting a pixie dust one. This way if there are changes, the organizer can bring a pad of sticky notes and a pen, and everyone can write down the changes. A short cruise like this is way too short to go around putting notes "6511 has moved to 9244" in every FE and hope that everyone sees it. On a cruise last year we moved cabins, and while I put out notes- not everyone saw them. Apparently some people delivered gifts to my original cabin and the new occupants never turned them in to guest services. :sad2: I feel badly that people worked hard to make stuff and someone else kept it!

Thank you for the suggestion. Okay Disers, we will have a Meet and Greet at 3:00 pm in the D Lounge on Deck 4. This will be a good chance for kids to meet up and if there are any last minute room changes for FE participants I will alert you. We have a small group so it should be manageable.

Sorry I have not been on since my Princess Half-Marathon but I came home to Girl Scout Cookie Sales and other school projects. We are very excited. I hope to wrap up FE gifts this weekend as well as packing.

We have decided to surprise the girls with park passes after the cruise. We figured since we were staying through Sunday at Disney that we might as well get the Florida Wild 3 day pass for the trip. We are not telling them. We will surprise them on Thursday morning when we get on an Animal Kingdom bus instead of a Downtown Disney bus!

I hope everybody is doing well with their preparations. I can't believe we will be sailing in 9 days!!!!!!!!

Where do you live Leslie? We are in South Florida so we always have out our summer attire. We have only lived down here 2 years and I already think it is chilly if it gets down to 70! LOL!!!

We're in sunny Southern California...San Diego to be exact! It's been in the 60s...downright freezing for us!! LOL! I'm still wearing my UGG boots!!! We're such wimps!

OMG, 9 day!!!!! Eek!!!! Finishing up FE gifts this weekend and packing for myself. I can't wait!!!!!

Sunny SoCal here too...I live in the IE- little tiny town called Devore. If you ever drive the 15 to Vegas you've come through here. It's been a pretty mild winter. We had some snow a couple weeks ago but that's typical for us. This winter has been mostly high 60's to the low 80's! In fact it was warmer this week than it was in Nassau!

We will plan on being at the Meet & Greet @ 3pm! My kids are really looking forward to meeting the other kids so I hope everyone comes!

most likely will not make the meet and greet since I'm meeting friends onboard. FE participants, in the past you could leave a note on your original fish that you'd moved and to what room.

the ship is so full we should be okay!

I am having a minor panic attack since I just inquired about my Fish Extender that I ordered and she responded telling me it is on the machine now. REALLY??? We sail in 4 days!!! Would you prefer Walmart or Target bags LOL!!! All I can do right now is laugh about it otherwise I just might cry! Can't wait to see everyone!:scared1::confused3

You never know! Mine was having "finishing touches" yesterday morning, it shipped out yesterday afternoon and I got it today!!!! She's in Los Angeles and I'm in San Diego so not far but still, quick!!!! We are officially ready to go!!!!

Welcome Back March 18 Dream Cruisers. I hope you all had a great trip. I will be setting sail on the Dream on May 6 with the same itinerary as your trip and was wondering if any of you would be willing to post or email your daily navigators so I can get an idea of the schedule for an Itinerary B trip? Please PM or email me (cathieforman at hotmail dot com). Myself and the dis group for our trip would really appreciate it.

I would also like to know if anyone will be doing a trip report? I would love to hear your thoughts/tips on the trip.

Thanks,
Cathie

Due to weather, we went to Castaway Cay after Nassau and ended with the sea day. Pirate Night is on the Nassau day. We are still at WDW but I would be happy to scan and post the Navigators when we return home next week.

Thank you for that update, its nice to know that they can reschedule CCay due to weather even though we go on Day 4:-) Also, its nice to know that Pirate Night is indeed on Day 2. We would love to see your navigators when you return! One question, did your dining rotation repeat Day 2 and Day 3? Have a wonderful time at WDW!!! Say hi to Mickey for us!

Yes, dinner was in the same restaurant for night 2 & 3. Night 2 was pirate night and night 3 was dress up. Hope you guys have a great time!

What an amazing cruise we had! First I wanted to thank all the other FE participants. We loved all of our gifts. The kids got so excited every time they saw something. They also enjoyed passing them all out. Glad they enjoy giving as much as receiving. Also enjoyed meeting the few that came to the meet & greet! We got a kick out of watching the kids get to know each other ahead of time! Thanks again to all that participated. It just made the trip that much more magical!:flower3:

Good Morning!
My original message did not post because I had to sign back into wifi. Ugh! We are still at WDW. Thank you everybody that participated in the FE. Our girls had so much passing them out and loved coming back to the room to find the packages in their pockets!!!! We had a great cruise and the FE definitely enhances the experience. We enjoyed the meet and greet and my girls had so much fun with the other kids there and still are asking about them. They would like to become penpals so I will email you separately about that.

I hope everybody travels home safely. We booked on board for 2013 Thanksgiving on the Dream. Did anybody else book for the future?

Thank you again!
Anoush and family

GatorandNole - we definitely appreciate the navigators when you get a chance. We want to learn as much as possible about the itinerary B schedule. It's great to know that you were still able to get to CC despite the weather. Any other info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks
Cathie

I'm in the process of making/buying FE gifts for the May 6th cruise and I am wondering if you all would share what you gave and received as FE gifts.

thanks
Cathie

We sooo enjoyed both of our cruises...but the FE gifts made the whole trip more wonderful for the kids.

Thanks to everyone for our elaborate array of cups, pens, clothes pins, magnets, candy, and presents from home. Disney Holland the kids really liked the treasures you gave t...they were intrigued by your creativity in the gifts from Holland.

Thanks to everyone.

Fabulous trip!
