March 17, 2007 7 Day Eastern

Disneypoor --- I'm so happy to hear your mother is doing well. I hope her recovery time will be quick.

We'll be at the Boardwalk Friday before and the Wilderness Lodge Villas on Saturday after.

This cruise is slipping up fast on us!

I hope we don't get the ice on Friday --- I've got things to do, although a "forced" day at home might be good!

How does parking at the Radisson or Country Inn work? We are not sure what we are doing yet.
Susan- so glad to here your Mom is doing well.
Have a Great day!

Evelyn. . .you stay the evening there. . .they shuttle you to the port then next day and leave your car in the hotels lot. . .they will pick you upon on return and shuttle you back to your car at the hotel. I was check for availability last night and the Country Inns and suites is booked up for that night.

Good morning everyone!

I'm starting to get in my vacation planning mode as the chief packer for our family. Can anyone of you experienced Disney cruisers give me the low down on the dress for dinner each night? I know there is one formal and one semi-formal, correct? And the rest are considered cruise casual?? Which nights are which?

Thanks in advance for any help!!

Saturday-Port Canaveral-Casual
Sunday-Day at Sea-Formal
Monday-Day at Sea-Casual
Tuesday-St. Maarten-Pirate Theme
Wednesday-St. Thomas-Casual
Thursday-Day at Sea-Semi-Formal
Friday-Castaway Cay-Casual

To save room last time I packed black pants that I could wear twice with different sweaters/tops. I'll probably bring black pants and khakis this time and wear each twice. If you do spill (or a baby makes a mess), there is laundry service on board. I haven't figured out how "formal" we're going to go yet. I HATE dressing up.

Thanks Stacie. That helps a lot. I don't know how formal we will do either. My son will have a fit if he has to wear a suit jacket. I told my husband he needs to bring his suit and he wasn't thrilled either to tell you the truth...I figure I have several skirt outfits I can wear on most nights and then a couple dresses for the formal and semi-formal.

Charlene-Thanks I'm looking into getting a room now.
I say we make a pack and all wear jeans and t-shrits. They can't throw us all out. Can they? Last year I did the wear pants twice for the whole family. I used the laundromat to do two loads half way through. It really wasn't bad.
Although alot of people do this. I washed mine late at night and it was still pretty busy in there. I also packed a collapsible laundry bag and it worked great for this and keeping our room tidy. :laundy:

The Navigators say no shorts, but do you think little kids can get away with nice shorts and a polo shirt on the casual nights?

Jenbrem1- Yes, my boys wore shorts with a nice shrit one evening. I saw other kids in nice shorts as well. Pirate night seemed to be a real casual and playful night.

Thank you all for the prayers for my mother. We got her home late last night and she is doing great!:grouphug:

It sounds like the Kansas City area is going to get hit with a nasty storm this weekend. I guess I'll just have to spend more time on my computer.:confused3 I finished up making reservations for our excursions this evening. I just can't believe how quickly this trip is approaching. When our ticker says 1 month and so many weeks, I might not be able to contain my excitement!:rotfl2: Have a good rest of the week!

Susan

Just made our reservation for Friday night before the cruise at the Radisson at the Port. I made my through Travelocity. . .saved $10.00! :cool1:

On formal and semi-formal night. . .it seems just about anything and everything works. . .super dressy to Sunday dressy!

Have a Thursday!

I was online today at target.com and in their clearance section they have a lot of cute little girl things. If you spend $25 in the clothes clearance section you get free shipping too! I bought my daughter several short sleeve tops that were around $6 a piece.
I also bought myself a black skirt that looks very versatile. They have a lot in the women's skirts/dresses section. I usually buy some tops for my kids there since they usually go through things quickly but rarely buy myself anything there. Since the prices were so low, I thought I'd give it a try.

Jen--Thanks for the tip, I'll have to check it out. I'm still trying to figure out what size Andy will be in by March. I bought some summer stuff on clearance this fall that was 3/6 months and some 6/9 months but I need a few more things in whatever size he'll be in.

I sent an e-mail to everyone that has sent me info for the group website. I updated it today and it should have everyone's information (I haven't done the excursions yet, I haven't had time to compile them). If you haven't sent your info yet my e-mail and the directions are in Jen's first post of this thread. I agree with Susan (disneypoor), it's getting hard to contain my excitement!!!

Bumping us back up - on the second page again.

Stacie - the website looks great. Thanks for all of your work.

Hey all! Winter has finally come to Iowa. :sad2: The weather people say 8-12" by Monday. My kids are excited, they have no school Monday because it is the end of the semester.

It sounds like a lot of you are going to have a mini-meet at the Radisson before the cruise. DD is concerned that she won't recognize anyone when we get to the termianl or on board. Is anyone up for wearing matching t-shirts? We have a local t-shirt printer here in town, I can check how much he thinks each shirt would cost. I think I'll check zazzle.com too, you can customize shirts with Disney stuff on their site, then anyone who wants to could order their own? Just thinking out loud. Let me know what you guys think.

Winter has arrived in Kansas too! We got out of school this morning at 10:30 because the roads were starting to get real, real slick. It's a mixture of sleet/freezing rain and then some snow every once in a while.

I think the t-shirt idea sounds great! I had ordered some t-shirts for my kids and two others that are going on the same cruise as we are but only two of the shirts came.:confused3 I was going to take them to a shop downtown and have something written on them about the cruise, but now I'm not sure what to do.

My husband asked my daughter how she was going to know who the girls were that she is emailing and she just laughed at him and said they were meeting on the ship. I guess the kids already have it figured out.:rotfl:

Enjoy your winter weather. . .it is a warm nice 70+ degrees here in south Alabama! I lived in Nashville for 18 years and loved it there (even the ice in the winter). But I don't think I could endure the cold anymore!

My iris' are blooming. . .but it is to be in the 40's by next Tuesday!

It's great the kids have no worries about finding eachother on the ship! I know last June it was so easy to find the group I had be chatting with before the cruise. They soon became dear friends. . .we still chat daily on the disboard.

Charlene

I think the matching shirts thing rocks...though my husband hates stuff like that. He'll have to get over it as this is the vacation I planned. :rolleyes1

Lovin the 70 degrees in Birmingham. Char, looks like an arctic blast is headed out way next week. I know you guys with snow think it's crazy, but temps in the 30s and 40s make me feel like I'm at the North Pole. Brrrr!:sunny:

Actually, I wish I knew how to video record and email to all of you my husband's response when I tell him we might wear matching shirts.:lmao: It would make for a good laugh. When we went on our cruise last year, the only Mickey thing he would wear was a shirt with mickey on it that said, "who cut the cheese?" with a big piece of cheese next to mickey. I know--immature! However, the pilot of our plane thought it was hilarious!! I promise, he WILL wear the matching shirts, even if I have to bribe him.;)
