HELP! Car rental rates have skyrocketed! Late last year the rate was $199 for whole trip and I didn't book it. I just checked and now its $500. I am going to book one and watch the rates like a hawk and try to get it reduced. Which is the best company to concentrate on to get the rate down for Orlando airport?

Check carrentalsavers.com for USAA rates with Budget. So far it's been the best rate I could find for our trip March 8 to 15. I've currently got a mid-size reserved for $223. The best I found before that was also with Budget mid-size for $279. I really want to rent from Alamo though. We had a great rental experience from Alamo on our last trip and using the kiosk is convenient. So far the best I can find for Alamo is $253 using carrentalsavers.com for the Visa rates. Hope this helps!

I am going around the same time as you (March 19-27) and was shocked when I started pricing out rental car rates. I was getting quotes between $600-$900 for a minivan!

I am now paying less than $300 using the following codes from Budget:
code X474200 and coupon code MUWZ023. The first is a travelocity code available to the general public. The coupon code will deduct $25 from what you owe when you return the vehicle.

Hope this helps!

I found myself in a similar situation last year for late August for a minivan. Cheapest price I could find was $508. I hit priceline as often as possible and eventually had a bid of $200 (after taxes and fees) accepted. I would recommend that course of action after lining up a reservation you feel comfortable with....

You might play with your times a bit. We need a car March 22-29 from/to MCO Rates were all over $500 for a midsize. Then I set it to 1 week and 3 hours and Dollar's rate dropped to $205 including taxes!! Cut the rate by over 1/2 by keeping it a couple extra hours? Crazy! I got this thru aa.com (American Airlines) but didn't use any codes, coupons, or anything. Thrifty and Dollar both dropped by half but all the other were still over $500.

I just booked my car rental with Budget. I got 9 days/compact for $155 including all taxes. I used a 40% off and $30 coupon. I did alot of research and found that the biggest discount codes are with Sam's Club and Costco. I did a search on Google for 40% off car rental coupons and found a 40% off for Budget. If anyone wants it I will post. Thanks for your help:rotfl::banana::rotfl2::cool1::cool1::cool1:

The Budget code is as follows. 40% is BCD# U133214
$30 off week is coupon code# MUWZ056
Coupon amount will not reflect in online quote but it will be taken off at time of rental. You can use both at the same time.
Good Luck;)
