March 15, 2015 MAGIC Cruise!! :)

Just did a quickie validation of VGTs and holy cow there are lots available! Especially on 7, for those of us waiting for OGT/VGT I bet we will be populating 7 :) Our last cruise it was deck 6, 90% of the OGT/VGT/IGT were assigned to 6; it was a rocking group!
This is the first time we've sailed GTY, I upgraded from an OV room on deck 2. I will say I was a bit nervous about where they'd stick us, but looking at the available rooms, I relaxed a bit.

I never asked if there is a FB site for this cruise, but perhaps if there is someone can point me to the administrator?
Yes there is, just search the Disney Magic March 15, 2015 or some variation of that. I know the FE group is closed, but I'm not sure if the organizer will invite anyone new in since we're so close to the cruise.

We too have a daughter who is a junior. Glad to hear there are other girls her age. I have been worrying abou nights aswell. On past sailings our son has been on board and despite being three years older I felt like someone was around for her. His spring break is a week earlier than ours this year so my husband and him are golfing Disney that week before. My daughter and I meet them when we fly down afterschool Thursday. We are a disney family for Firday and Saturday before heading to the port Sunday. DS flys back to school Monday. Thanks goodness for MME.
Hilary is my daughter's name. If I am correct Hailey, Hannah and Alex are the other girls?
Hilary made a friend from AZ on our Christmas 2010 sailing. They are still in contact, we even spent time with her older sister while at WDW last summer.
Anyway, we are from the Toronto area. Can't wait to get out of the cold. More snow coming today!

I am glad there will be girls their age on board. Are any of you have later dinner? So I guess I should make sure my daughter goes to the Vibe the first night to hopefully meet up with people her age. Since she is an only child it is sometimes hard but maybe if she knows that there will be girls her age she will go the first night. Great talking to you all! I am sure you are all excited to escape the winter. I can't complain...we have only had 29 degrees twice. What have your kids done on the Casaway Cay?
Becky

My DD Kate (9) is onboard and loves to hang in the clubs. She's always happy to meet friends and seeing as there are many Canucks on board for March Break it may break the ice :)

Was looking at the local forecast for tomorrow (looks like freezing rain and sleet tomorrow afternoon - yay!) and thought I'd compare that to our upcoming destinations.

Key West will be 80 and mostly sunny
Cozumel will be 82 with early morning showers, but mostly sunny the rest of the day
Grand Cayman will be 83 and partly cloudy
Castaway Cay will be 77 and partly cloudy

So I'll take any of those four over the weather I'm expecting to see tomorrow. Cannot wait to be on the Magic!

Nice upgrade! Keep that stateroom info coming folks!

I just got in from shovelling for 40 ... count 'em, 40 minutes. This cruise can't come fast enough! (And then, truthfully, I want everything to slooooooow down!)

Yuck 40 minutes? We got the ice storm yesterday and schools were closed. My littlest is sick today, day 4 of high fever so off to the doctor here soon. We NEED good weather and relaxation! !!

We got lucky yesterday, just a little freezing rain. But this morning we woke up to a fine layer of snow :crazy2:

It's almost time!!

Snow here last night good couple inches...let the countdown timer speed up :) At least with the time change this weekend we will be one hour closer :)

I forgot about that! This is the first time I'm happy about losing an hour!!!

Speaking of forgetting things, I realized this last weekend that we'll be onboard for St Patty's day. Do you think they'll do anything special?

Last year on the Fantasy they did not do anything special for St. Patrick's Day. I think the Irish Pub-themed bar had some drink specials, but overall, nothing too crazy. The kids seem to think that the dining room servers wore green outfits, but I have no evidence or recollection of that. Lots of people will be wearing green of course.

Hey everybody, we just decided to go on this cruise/booked last week, it will be our first Disney cruise (and first cruise ever)! We're super excited, our kids are 7 and 3, my 7 year old daughter is counting the days (and so am I). We'll be in stateroom 7036. Booked our Palo brunch, got our Pirate costumes, working on our door decorations, finished online check in and kids registrations. Now I'm reading about the ports and activities to decide what's worth doing, if you have any advice let me know. We've been to Cozumel and Key West before, but never been to Grand Cayman. We love beach hopping and I'm seriously considering doing that when we get to that port. I know our Pirate Party is the day we stop in Cozumel, do you know when is the formal night/semi-formal? I've read conflicting information about that. We live in Austin, Texas and love to travel, so it was about time we tried a cruise. I'm just hoping nobody gets sea sick (we usually don't, in smaller boats)!

Welcome Lucianam! We too were latecomers last week! It is going to be a blast :) There is usually a formal and a semi-formal on the 7 nights that I have done recently on DCL, Pirates Night is a blast. We too are searching for things to do, but as very pale Canadians too many beach days is not our preference :p

We are planning something big for St. Pats as my husband is Irish and its a tradition :) I hope we won't stand out too much with all flotsam and jetsam.

Welcome Lucianam! Happy to have you join us!!! You will have a blast!

Formal night is first sea day, Tuesday and semiformal is second or friday!

Is it just me or does everyone else try not to do much in terms of groceries pre-vacation :) DH and DD are complaining the Mother Hubbard's Fridge is getting bare but I don't want to load up prior to leaving hahahaha
