March 14, '10 "Wonder"ful cruise!!

pirate: Pirates IN the Caribbean Party. Do you bring your own attire to wear too? Do other wear their own? I am asking because my Son and I have pirate costume stuff. I have read in my book that people do.

Some people are dressed up for the night. I personally do not. But, there are plenty of people that do. Yes, they bring it from home. My youngest DD bought a pirate hat while on the last Magic trip....she also lost it then too. So she will be buying herself a new one :)

PT went well. She was cleared to run. She is going to run with pain. We think it is associated with a new medicine she is taking. So, she ran her race today and did really well. There were 314 girls running and she placed 32nd! She was excited. We met her at the end with ice packs for her knees. She said it isn't anything that she can't tolerate for that short of time!

We sailed on the Magic in March of this year. So, it is fresh in our minds. I am anxious to see what kind of entertainment they offer. I loved the family entertainment in Rock'n Bar D @ 7:30 every night. It was great. I have been reading some of the navigators and it doesn't look like they offer that.

Since we are doing a B2B, we will get to have 2 sail away parties, 2 pirate nights & 2 stops @ Castaway Cay!! We are thrilled:love:

We will not be discussing the "bring a friend" issue at my house either :rolleyes1 We did do that once it went well, but I am not doing it again.

I read where the Wonder will be in Alaska in 2011. I bet I won't be able to afford that one! We were thinking about taking a cruise in 2011 to Alaska. I am sure it will be on Carnival.

Have a good evening !

I am so glad she is fine and she was able to run. Wow, 32nd, she did GREAT!

That's right, you get two of everything of this cruise. What's better than 1 sail away party, 1 pirate night and 1 stop at Castaway Cay? 2

I have the rest of the week-end to chill! So I am going to try to set up a ticker and fancy up my space here.
I will set up my son with the e-mails today Cindy.

Jeannine

I can't wait to see what you did! I was trying last night, but couldn't figure it out.

We had such a busy weekend that I didn't give my girls the email addresses. I will do so today!!

We plan on leaving Friday mid morning and driving down. I live about 40mins. from Niagrara Falls on the Candian side. My son can drive:eek: so with 3 of us taking turns we thought it would be fun. (I really hate airports and fly on business sometimes.) I am a roadtrip kinda person.

Port Canaveral looks nice and my dh can sleep anywhere anytime so he can take a nap before we board.
TTNF

When we drive that's the way we do it too. We just drive all the way through. I thought it might be easier with my daughter driving now, but decided to fly since we will have all the kids with us.

Since you like roadtrips, do you like to stop at places or do you just like to get there?

So you are going to drive straight through? WOW...all night?? That is something I can't do. We live about 600 miles from PC. We aren't sure when we are leaving yet. We might leave Friday morning and stay in Orlando Friday night. We are thinking about going to Sea World on Saturday. Just depends on how much overtime my DH gets between now and then :)

Wish us luck. We are going to the doctor tomorrow to check out my daughters knee. She woke up this AM in serve pain. She said it felt like it was broken. I am sure it isn't by the way she is walking. We still need to get it checked out. She may be done with her running season :sad2:

Off to clean my bathroom....since I am stuck at home today I might as well clean :laundy:

Noooooo! I just got down to this message and was heartbroken to read that. I pray everything is ok. Please let us know what the doctor says. She must have a very high tolerance for pain. Poor thing!

That's one nice thing about driving, you can leave whenever you want, and pack as much as you want!:lmao:

TTFN

I have read that people dress up too. I'm sure you will have a mix of both. I have a pirate costume for my little one. My other son and husband have a pirate shirt, and I am looking for something piratey for us girls. Just a little something to get us in the mood. It can't be too much or else my girls will put up a fuss.

I made it through the weekend! Man, that Great Wolf Lodge is a zoo. The kids had a great time, but it was a mad house. So many little kids and so loud. I was trying to figure out why this was so much worst than Disney and think I figured it out. At Disney you have families at Great Wolf there was a lot of parties, so you would see 2 adult with 10 kids. At breakfast we saw 2 adults with 14 little girls, CRAZY! I won't do that again.

It has been raining here ALL weekend. Started on Friday and hasn't stopped. Why is it that you always get the rain all at once?

Time to start getting things ready for school.
Good luck at the doctor!!!

Dr.'s appt. went well. DD is cleared to run. She will just have to run with pain. She had tendenitious and it won't get better until she stops running. She said that won't happen until after the State competition Nov. 14!!

Is anyone going to do excursions? I really don't think we are. I am sure if we do anything we will get off at Nassau and walk around the straw market. The only thing that is a possiblity is the girls doing something at Castaway Cay. I think one DD wants to do the wild side excursion.

For the most part, we are trying to do this trip with as little added cost as possible. It was an unexpected trip that we couldn't turn down.

Good for her at sticking it out thru the pain.
In Nassau no shore excursion. I have never been so I would like to walk around take some photos and shop.
Castaway Cay: Ryan would like to try Parasailing We both want to rent snorkel equipment and a tube. We have never snorkel before so we want to try it. Now I told Ryan that he can do " Disney " things with his age group. So some of this stuff will come up last mintute I am sure.

That sure is dedication!! I'm glad it was nothing serious. You will have to keep us up to date on how she is doing and how she does at state.

Funny you should mention excursions. I was going to take the 3 older kids to Atlantis, until I saw the price. I couldn't believe it. I even checked out getting a room at Comfort Suites, but they want over $300 for our date. I guess because it's spring break. So I asked the kids what they wanted to do. It was a choice between Atlantis or to do something fun on Castaway Cay. They agreed to do something fun on Castaway Cay. They really want to try the Parasailing. I haven't given them the list of things to do yet.
Nassau we will probably walk around and maybe go to a beach. My husband might go back early to take the ones who want to swim in the pool.
I heard that the pools were still a bit crowded. I guess many stay on the ship in Nassau.

We just booked! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2:

Will be myself, DH and DD age 5. We sailed on the Magic back in Nov. 2007 for a week and loved it. Can't wait to get to know everybody else that will be on the trip.

Welcome Tink's Mom!! We are a small group so far, but we are really excited

I am leaving tomorrow for Pensacola Beach, FL for a XC meet. It is about a 6 hour drive from here.

Hope everyone has a "wonder"ful weekend :cutie:

Welcome Tink's Mom! So glad we are getting more people on this cruise. I can't believe for being sold out that this thread is so small. But that's ok. We have some very nice people here.

Hope, tell you daughter good luck and to be careful with her knees! Matt, my 4 year old, told my daughter's friend yesterday that to run REALLY fast all you have to do is say "lightspeed" and put your head down. Give her that tip, it might help her. :rotfl:

Hello Everyone!

Before this thread gets too big could we add names on the 1st page ( the person who started it will need to do it :) ) That way it is easier to keep track of for later and if we do gift exchange, meetings etc.?

Anyway we are booked and are hoping to go! It depends on for us about air fare cost later down the road. So far it is too high but things could change.:)

We are lucky and got one of the SPH rooms!!

I am the person that started this thread and I don't know how to add names :) Someone would have to tell me how to do that :)

XC meet yesterday was a muddy mess. It rained from the time we got there until well after we left. They even ran the last race in thunder & lightening!!:scared1: Glad my daughter ran the first race.

I can't wait to get on the Wonder. A co-worker is eating at Crystal Palace as I type. She had never been to disney before. She took advantage of the free dinning. I planned all her meals for her family! It was a lot of fun planning, but I wish I was there with her. She has been sending me pics all day! I am so jealous ;)

I am glad that more people are joining our thread!!! I hope time flies :)

Thanks and here is how you add names: you need to go into the 1st thread and click on the edit button and then add the names that way.:) The same concept of when you replay to someones post like I am doing right now to yours right now.:) and then add the names like this: You can even leave it open and copy and past them if you open two windows.

Start with your family 1st and then just add on from there:
ours would be:
(Heres how it can look:) I always do the thread name 1st then the names if given and childrens ages, main or late dine and where from.

Thanks for doing this! I have done it before and do it currently for an upcoming cruise and it does take a little work to keep up! Thanks again!!!

I started a cruise list on the first page of this thread. If there is any more information you would like me to add, please let me know! If you are joining this thread, send me a PM and let me know if you want your name added to this list

MKmommy, I didn't realize that we cruised together in March. I wonder why our paths didn't cross. I do spend a lot of time in the adult area now that my dd's are older :woohoo:

Hope everyone had a great weekend. We had another XC meet. It rained from the time we got there until well after we left. It was the muddiest mess I have ever been in. The last race took place while it was thundering and lightening!!! It was scarey. Glad my dd ran the first race :scared1:

I am so excited about this trip. But first we have to get through our Carnival cruise in November!!! On carnival I can have a balcony...on Disney it is a Cat 11:rolleyes:
