March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

Pederson Family,

I agree I am even passing on the dolphins because I am chicken. My hubby is going to do it with our 11 year old daughter. I would be more than happy to split a van with you, or at the minimum follow each other over in separate taxis (not sure which way would be cheaper). If you decide to go let me know and we will figure out a way to meet on the ship so we can make a plan for that morning. Then at the end of the day we can meet up again and caravan back over to the port. I feel like we will be totally safe once in the park. I am sure we will also be safe in the taxi, but I like the peace of mind of a large group. Just let us know...Thanks!!

The Pederson Family...
We are going to take a taxi. I am being told that it is about 20mins from the port. If I a feeling brave that day then we are going to save ourselves some money and venture out of the port to the cheaper taxis which should cost about $15 (3 people). In the port the taxi will be approx $25. The dolphin adventure that Disney sells is not at Aquventuras. You have to tell Aquaventuras when you book it that you are coming in on Disney and that Disney is not contracted with them or they will tell you that they cannot sell to cruise ship passengers. I have friends who did it last year and they really enjoyed their day.

We are in 6087 so all of you that just got your room assignments we are all pretty close to each other.

I'm next door to you~

Hope...forgive my memory, but do you have any kiddos? We have an 11 year old daughter. Does that mean Denise and her whole family will be able to stay in one cabin? I know she needed a cabin for 4. If so, that is great!!

Yes, it is great. Thanks Hope...xoxo

tracielynn....yes I have 2 daughters, 17 & 14. So, I am going to put my youngest dd in her grandparents room on deck 5, it is a great location, wish we were closer!! They have an 11A that sleeps three. I am going to give my room that sleeps four to Denise!! I was hoping that my parents would be closer, but I guess you can't have everything! :)

Hope...what cabin are your parents in on deck 5. I may be willing to swap with them so that they can be next to you. My only concern is that I do not think cabins are midship on that deck and I suffer badly with seasickness. I tried an aft cabin once and about died at night. Let me know and I will try to work it out for you.

Denise...what a great friend you have!! I am so happy to hear that your family is not going to be split up.

tracielynn....that would be really sweet of you, but I don't want you to get sick. My dad gets really sick also. We were on the front of the ship once in cabin 7007 and it was good, only one night was bad.

Here is their cabin # just in case 5631. I have heard that it is a great location. I wish we were down there.

Hope...uh-oh that is an aft cabin for sure. I am so sorry, but I know I would be very sick on the Mexican Riviera in an aft cabin. Last year we did RCCL to the Mex Riv and I had a midship cabin and it made for a much better cruise. Did you try calling Disney and seeing if they could do anything for you? You never know they may be able to sprinkle som pixie dust on your trip. So sorry...I am happy that I already know my neighbors. Yeah!

That is fine....it is the thought that counts! I have heard the the MR is rougher than the caribbean.

We are getting off the ship in PV & Cabo but not Mazatlan. I am sure DCL is watching things closely. I feel that they will take us only to safe places. But if a person has concerns then stay on the ship. I do feel bad for not getting off in Mazatlan, but we will enjoy the day on the Wonder.

I wonder what they would do if they did cancel? Surely there is another port they could go too. How about San Diego, San Francisco, Seattle, & Vancouver???

I couldn't stand it if we went to those places. I need hot weather! We just got 10 inches of snow here in Missouri!:scared1:

The Pacific Ocean is a lot rougher that the Atlantic. Tell your dad to bring Bonine and maybe even get the patch. The really bad days are the first and last. The rest are not too bad. The Mariner of the Seas is such a large ship that I did not feel the motion at all and only had to use Bonine a few times last year. It was great, but the Wonder and the Carnival Pride are about the same size and I was very sick on the Pride when we did the MR. I have been told that Disney has better stabilizers than Carnival to help, but who knows. We did do the Magic in the caribean and I did fine there. I am just going prepared and hoping for the best.

I am sure you have already reserched this, but it can also be very cold the first and last days. Make sure you bring a jacket. A lot of times the winds on the last day will cause the outside decks to close. Just plan to do inside activites and it is still a blast. The port days are beautiful..Not too hot or cold, just about perfect!!

Hope!

We're on the same deck as your parents, your daughter can always come hang out with our girls!! :) We're at the opposite end in 11B's....5505 and 5509..I'm so happy they found a way to put us together! I'm tempted to see if any 8A's are available that I could get across the hall, but I bet not...I'd just like to have a split bathroom with kids! :) I guess I'll be taking all my showers at the spa! :)

So excited! :)
Tara

I wasn't sure about the weather. I will make sure we bring light jackets. My dh & I also get really sick....guess we all should bring some meds!!

I am going to see if there are any more CAT 11's on Deck 5 to change too. I would love to be close to my parents & to Sara.

It is the California weather that makes it a bit cold...NOT freezing...just chilly. Of course, I am from Arizona so anytime it is below 60 we are freezing. Mexico is truly awesome in the March weather department. We always wear jeans on the ship and then use those same jeans for the last day. The first MR cruise we took I went to bed that first night thinking we were going to be cold the whole trip and then I was pleasantly surprised to wake up to gorgeous 80s sunny weather the very next morning.

I will be really sad if they change our itinerary and we travel north to Seattle. Seattle is beautiful, but I really want "beach" weather!! I would be fine with a double dip to Cabo or PV and to just skip Mazatlan.

Why would we go to Seattle? :confused3 I certainly hope we don't go north. Being from Arizona, going to CA is chilly enough for us. :rotfl:

My DH doesn't share in my feelings here but I would be quite content to stay on the boat in every port. I like the boat. There's lots to do. I paid a lot of money to be on the boat. I can admire the scenery of the area from the comfort of the boat.

I've looked at the excursions and nothing appeals to me. On our DCL trips to the St. Martin, St. Thomas, St. Croix, we just got off the ship and wandered around a bit, found a bar and enjoyed a couple cocktails (we normally leave the kids on the ship because they're very happy there!) I know DH would prefer to do that in Mexico and I will probably oblige but the moment I don't feel safe - it's back on the boat.

They would never change our ports to go north....guess it was just my hope since I can't fit into my summer clothes anymore :lmao: I would also be happy if we skipped Mazaltan. We will be staying on the ship there.

Our TA said that all rooms on the ship that sleep 4 are compeletly sold out. So apparently, the mexico violence hasn't scared away too many people yet. I do don't care if I stay on the ship in all three ports. Don't get me wrong, it will be great getting off the ship if I feel comfortable, but if not....hey, I am happy onboard. You'll find me in the quiet cove or the rainforest room!!!

I may have to buy some shorts before the cruise. :rolleyes1 I'm trying to lose 10 pounds before the cruise but I don't think it'll be enough.. We'll see.

I just made a deal with DH that I will get off the ship in Puerto and Cabo but not Maz. He agreed.

He's pouting lately that we won't get to go to Castaway Cay. :rotfl2:

I feel his pain about not going to Castaway Cay!! I love that place. It is a wonderful relaxing day!! I will truly miss that stop!!

Castaway Cay was a hard decision to pass up... But the KSF Promo made that decision pretty simple for us. Hey, at least we have the ship! I cant complain.

Congrats, for everyone getting their room assignments! Now, we need to look each day in our mail boxes for our packets!

I love CC but for this trip, I'm not going to miss the flights to/from Orlando. I'm not going to miss packing to the extreme I have to pack to take a plane! And after our last fiasco flying to Orlando, I'm not going to miss US Airways calling me at 4 am to tell me that my 1 pm nonstop flight to Orlando has been canceled due to "aircraft maintenance"!

We've never been on the Wonder so I'm looking forward to the "new" ship! :) And CC was always kind of hectic for me since we'd have to get back on board pretty early to pack everything up to get off the next day. That had a way of lessening the experience because around 2 pm, I'd start thinking about all the work I needed to do to get us off the ship! (Can you tell I'm just trying to make myself feel better about missing the island?)
