March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

With 57 days till the cruise I decided to buckle down and start planning. So what are you doing in Cabo, I just book myself, husband and 7 year old little girl to swim with the dolphins. AHHH Can't wait.

Also my little girl and I were talking and she thinks the Sharpays (sp) Faboulous Adventure will be the movie on the boat, sure hope she right. What do you think?

In Cabo, we are letting our DD7 do the kids only dolphin interaction, she seemed keen on that :)

We are doing the Paradise beach excursion in Puerta Vallarta and don't have anything planned in Mazatlan at this point...but here's a question...on the DCL website under Mazatlan port adventures, they list something called Golden Zone Beach getaway which sounds nice...but its not listed when you go into Excursions when you book your reservations, anyone know why :confused3

It has a minimum of 6 adults. We are 2 adults and 2 kiddos. He wrote back and said he'd do it even if we don't get the minimum but thought I'd let others know anyway. No pressure.

Tour of the city including Cliff divers followed by lunch, drinks, activities at Stone Island.

We've been going round and round about what to do in Mazatlan and this is finally what me & hubby decided was our #1 choice... and my 5th grader and Kindergartener think this sounds fun. We almost chose Randi's Happy Horses but I think that may be tooo long of a ride for our family...esp the little one. This way we have a 20 minute horse back ride along with a little culture and a lot of fun. I like the variety.

If you are interested, let me know. You'd just join us on the group tour and book through Frank. Tour group has an excellent reputation.

By the way...speaking of excursion plans....
Cabo we are doing the Pirate ship through DCL. PV we are going on our own to Dream PV all inclusive I think or the Krystal.

Sounds like a GREAT choice for your age children, I know you'll have a blast! We booked a single excursion in Cabo and that's our max, I added up tips for all 8 of us (we're taking three guests with us) and when you see the whole number it's more than I'd pay for excursions for all of us! EEK! So must save up for tips and probably soak up some cheap rays :)

Have a great time! I bet others will want to join! :)
Tara

So I'm trying to plan and get things in place. Can anyone tell me approx. how many goodies I will need for the FE group? I'm going to start handmaking something an would like to know if it 5 or 20.... Thanks:cool1:

Thanks. Maybe some will. I'm not worried since he said he'd do it either way. Go with the flow is my vacation attitude. :) :)

You are right in excursions really adding up. Well...face it...the cruise adding up. I've started a spreadsheet for expected expenses and it can get a little shocking...and that is coming from a family that are not big splurgers.

170 round trip for tranport from LAX to Hotel and then Pier to LAX. Yikes but cheaper than DCL tranport. (Using Zippy Shuttle for a private van) http://www.zippyshuttle.net/index.shtml

Excursions are big budget killer. A little over 700 is what I figured. We did book a secret porthole room though to offset this though.

DCL's Pirate excursion in Cabo is 69 for 3 of us (10 yrs & up) and 49 for son. Dreams is high. We may do something simpler. 75 each for adults (all day -all inclusive) and half price for the 2 kids. All day in Matzalan is 65 for adults and 45 for kids.

DCL is expensive! Then you've got souveniers, pictures, alchohol, smoothies, spa. Tips. Looks like we need to pinch pennies to pay for this trip. The good news is the great price for the fare itself through the kids sail free offer.

WE LOVE DCL THOUGH. I drive a later model car and budget else where so we can do our DCL vacations.

Hi KAP@ABQ, we're from the big ABQ too. The Husband, me, 14yo DS and 10yo DD. Are you flying into LAX? Maybe we could share a shuttle if our times are close. We're flying SW and arrive into LAX at 10am on Saturday, 3/12.

Hi wow this so cool. We are flying to LAX but on Friday. We are doing the Disneyland thing on Saturday before the cruise. Bummer. We are trying to find a place to stay on Fri night and Sat night, DH is in charge of that. We are so excited and can't wait. How are you getting to the port on Sunday? Kathy

Oh, bummer, but you will have so much fun at Disneyland, sort of like an appetizer before the cruise!

We are staying at the Crowne Plaza in San Pedro, they have a free shuttle service to the port. We got it thru priceline, $65 plus tax!!

What part of Albuq do you live in? email me so we don't bore everyone on this forum, kristarenz (then the @) yahoo.com. I don't have enough posts to leave an email.

I'm planning on 25, I just can't make more than that and fitting the extra stuff in luggage will be tight! :) I bet we'll have to split them up...
HTH!

Yes, we booked an inside cabin GTY and we received our room number right after I registered. No upgrade like I was hoping for, but that won't stop our fun!!!

Good luck!

Great thanks. Is it one gift for each day. How does it work? I've signed up ut still really have no clue except I have to have a organizer outside my room and give and get gifts. Just need to know how it works. Thanks for your help.

I've only done it once, but generally this is how it works..

If there are more than 25 participating, we split the list into two/three groups, trying to not have more than 25...say we name one group Mickey and one group Goofy...

then you organize the names/ages of kids who's participating for each age (like for our family, my husband and I won't give gifts, we're just putting pockets for the kids and making gifts for others in our group)....as soon as everyone has their room number we print out a list...each family provides one gift per participant for the week...so we try to arrange it so each day has different families putting in their goodies..if everyone gave their gifts on the first day it'd be packed...so you may be assigned day 2 or day 3 etc.

You come back to your room and oila, you have surprises! :) I hope I explained that well enough...I'm sure there are other methods, this just gives you an idea! :)

Yes that was great! Thanks I now have an idea how it works. Better start thinking about what I'm giving. Kathy

does anyone know who was put in charge of the FE? I cant find the post that Allen left. Im going out this week to finish up my FE gifts. Lots of crafting involved but so worth it. :)

I booked a GTY and got a room number a week later. We have a room that sleeps 3 and need one that sleeps 4. Our room is 6085, maybe we can help each other out.
