March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

I am going to start calling today to get prices for shuttles. I don't want to spend a lot. I am going to try a couple of different options.

Does anyone know how close the enterprise car rental place is to the port?
We have to rent a car of Friday when we arrive. I am thinking that if the enterprise drop off place is close we would just do that. Making plans for places that you haven't been is difficult!!

I can't wait for the MR cruise reports to start coming in. Well, off to check and see if I have a room # yet!!!

I booked Super shuttle from our hotel to ONT airport for a 9 AM pick up. The day we return they will be there to pick us up and take us to the Radisson at LAX. Feels good to have all the details worked out. Found parking at Nashville airport for $3 a day. Okay, it is remote parking, but hey, they offer a shuttle!!

We have been out of school all week! We had a snow storm come through that paralzed the northern part of the state. I am so ready for some warmer temps!!!

No room # yet today! :)

The Enterprise Rental facility is located within/next door to the Crown Plaza hotel. It's a mile or two from the port. The problem is that it is a TINY location and they have really goofy hours (they close at noon on Saturday!).

Hope: Beware of car rental companies at the port. Some are closed on Sunday. Be sure to ask if they are open during the hours you are picking up or dropping off.

I am looking forward to our room being posted. We are in a category 9 C which is probably located on Deck 2 forward or aft. I am soooooooo looking forward to finding out what room we will have. I am not thrilled about Deck 2... we were on deck 6 midship last time and it was amazing! so close to everything. I like taking the stairs and 1 flight is much easier than 5! :)

I have a few questions to help with my planning:

:)Is there a secure website for our cruise where we can post photos of ourselves? If so it would be nice to see some of our beautiful faces before we travel.

:)Is there an official logo for our cruise? I am thinking of making T shirts, magnets that reflect our logo. If not I can have one of our Creative DISigners make one for us.

Thanks, that's a lot of info. What is a Tigger Tail????

What's a Tigger Tail?!?!?! Across from the entrance to Splash Mountain is the Pooh ride. When you exit Pooh, there's a candy store, I think it's called "Pooh's Corner." A Tigger Tail is 4 marshmallows, covered in caramel, sprinkled in orange crystals, drizzled with chocolate to resemble Tigger's tail. (They use to be covered in caramel, dipped in white/orange chocolate but the last one we had was with orange crystals, no white/orange chocolate.) It's a family favorite and we get one for the kids and my husband every time we visit. They're spendy, about $4 a tail, but if you like the combo of marshmallows and caramel, it's a nice treat.

I told a fellow-Disney-nut co-worker about them and now he and his wife are addicted to them. He surprised me and brought me home a Tigger Tail after a recent visit in December. My kids and husband were so excited to see it. My DS (16) said, "Is that an authentic Tigger Tail?!?!?" :rotfl:

Wow, big group going. :goodvibes It would be 4 of us ages 9-45. I need to contact them and get more details. I read on another message board about some people that got to the office and found out the tour left without them and I do not believe they were really late but right on time. I am not sure which tour company it was but that is the type of thing that has me worried about getting to an office and going from there. I like it better when excursion operators pick you up from the dock. I have not seen any zipline operators that seem to do that though. What time are you booking if for?

Meredith

Not sure yet, would like to book the 9:15. Do you know if ship time is PVR time?

We have a group of 15 going ages range from 6 to 40ish. We havent yet booked but I contacted them and we are going to book in the next few days. I believe we have to take a taxi to their office by the college disco?

I have read great reviews.
Misand

We booked this zip line tour as well. Party of 9.
There is a discount for booking through the website.
We can't wait. :cool1:

We will be taking a taxi to the canopy office for the 11:45 tour.
The bar/ mini zoo looks neat too.....as well as the swimming hole with slides.
Great reviews for this tour.
Disney was twice the price and we were not able to book our kids.

Trying to get some info on taxis........

We booked a Royal Swim with the Dolphins at Aquaventuras Park in PV. I liked the idea that we could swim with the dolphins and then go enjoy the dolphin and sea lion shows and have fun at the waterpark. I was able to book it on my own for a great deal. In Mazatlan we are just going to play in by ear. We have been to Stone Island and it is great, but not going to do it again. Might just take a taxi to the El Cid and enjoy the pool. In Cabo we are going to meet some friends on Medano Beach who are staying at a resort there. I am thinking this year we will do the glass bottom water taxi and have it take us by the arches. I have done the MR a few times and I have been on Disney so if anyone has questions I will try to help. Went to the store tonight and started buying stuff for the cruise...The fun begins...

I do not know about the time zones and which one the ship will be on. Anxious to see the first Navigators to get some answers. I think this is the tour operator we are going to use. I would like to do the earliest option possible. I checked last night and found out that we have been moved to main dining. We were supposed to have late. I do not want to get back to the ship too late.

Does anyone know the dining times for MR since we will be in PV a little later?

Are the water taxis fairly easy to get in Cabo? I read on another board that this is a good thing to do. We have excursions planned in PV and Mazatlan so I was trying to do something easy in Cabo and not too expensive.

However, I have read about whale watching lately and thought that sounded fun. Are we going too late in March to see them? Any good tour operators that we should look into?

Meredith

Meredith...

The Disney website says this about dinning times:
On the Disney Wonder and the Disney Magic, the Main Seating is at 5:45 p.m.; the Second seating is at 8:15 p.m. I assume it will stay the same for the Mexican Riviera..Anyone know for sure??

The itinerary is local land time and NOT ship time. For Cabo and Maz the ship will be the same time as local time. For PV the local time will be one hour BEHIND the ship. So 8am ship time is 7am PV time. At least that is how they did it last year on the Mariner and what they say on the disboards.

For Cabo I have not done the whale watching so I cannot help there, but as far as the water taxis go I have been told they are easy. You just get off the ship and walk the short 5 min walk to the marina. We saw them last year, but we decided to just do the regular taxi. We saw people all day being picked up right off of the beach and it looked so easy. All they did was stand up and wave and they were there. Do keep in mind that you have to walk a little ways out into the water to board the water taxi and to get off. Hope this was helpful..

Anyone know where I can find stateroom Mickey ears with a Sombrero and St. Patrick's hat?????

To Fire Ohana - we are also on the cruise and I have an 11 year old daughter with HFA. It would be great for them to be pen pals before the trip.

That's wonderful! Nice to know that she won't be the only HFA kiddo on the ship. :goodvibes I'll PM you this weekend.

OK, so we're just under two months out and I am fretting over the whole packing issue already. Anyone else dealing with that as well? DD is in the midst of a growth spurt, and now NOTHING from last summer fits...I am having a dickens of a time finding rashguard shirts in January...

Here is a question that I don't have an answer to...we are driving to the port, how many bags can we take on/check in per person? I know each of us will have a carry on (one full of wine, booze and water), but can we check in a suitcase or two? Do all empty luggage suitcases stay in the room after unpacking? The newbie in me is coming out, and I would love some answers. It will help with the "how much to pack" issue a bit (and never mind that we're staying 5 days at Disneyland afterwards...) OY!

Go to the folder called Creative DISigns. There are many Disers there that have created a variety of ears etc.. that you can print. You may have to go to photobucket to download them but it's easy and you can personalize them too!! The DISigners will personalize them too.

I think you can officially check 2 per person. We travelled with a ridiculous amount of luggage the last time and nobody said anything to us. Why is it that infants need 10x more stuff than the rest of us?!
Do all empty luggage suitcases stay in the room after unpacking? The short answer to this is yes. You can put them in the closet and under the bed.

I have heard that you can ask your stateroom steward to put them in storage for you but we didn't do this.

Still up for grabs!! Anyone interested?? Make me an offer!!!

Hey y'all, I canceled our flights to and from LA on Southwest. Anyone interested in $537.20 in Southwest credits? I won't have an opportunity to use them before they expire. PM me if you're interested or know someone who might be. HURRY!! Effective January 28, 2011, unused travel funds may only be applied toward the purchase of future travel for the individual named on the ticket.

With 57 days till the cruise I decided to buckle down and start planning. So what are you doing in Cabo, I just book myself, husband and 7 year old little girl to swim with the dolphins. AHHH Can't wait.

Also my little girl and I were talking and she thinks the Sharpays (sp) Faboulous Adventure will be the movie on the boat, sure hope she right. What do you think?

That would be great....my dd8 would love it! We just booked our flight! I think we'll stay near the airport on Saturday night and take a shuttle to the port on Sunday.
