March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

When we were on the WBTA last September, there was a CD available for $300. However, when you choose this option rather than the actual phot package, you don't get the special borders, but you do get a ton of pictures. Also, if you go with the CD option, remember to review your photos, a few people on the cruise had some of their photos missing.

Janice

Thanks Janice - I imagine the photo pkg vary from each boat but what kind of pkg have you seen in the past? Kathy

My sister just got back from Legoland and had to tear my nephew away. She said it was so much fun!

How old is your nephew? I have heard that Legoland is geared toward younger kids. My son is 9 so I am worried he is getting too old. But, he is a HUGE Lego fan and we have not had an opportunity to go before.

Both girls; 17 & 13. Oh and my oldest.......44. We love the rides, the food and the shopping. My youngest loves the games-Innovations. We don't know if we want to try both parks or just one. We will only be there on Saturday before the cruise and I'm sure it will be crowded. What do you think?

If you're only going one day then I would recommend you do Disneyland and skip CA Adventure. We LOVE CA Adventure but you won't have time for both parks. It is spring break for Arizona and Utah, at the least, so the parks will be busy.

I recommend printing a map of Disneyland and figuring out what they have that the World does not. You'll definitely want to hit Pirates and Space Mtn. as it is different than the ones at the World.

I'm pretty hardcore DL so we'll definitely be arriving at open and trying to stick it out until close. :-) Would be great if all us pre-cruise-DL-goers could maybe meet up in the park and ride Pirates? Nothing like sailing with our favorite pirates before we sail with our favorite mouse!

If you are determined, and you really want to go to CA Adventure, I do think it's worth a visit. Screamin', a roller coaster, is pretty awesome!

Yum, sounds like Hoop-de-doo Revue at Disney World. Do you know how much it is by any chance? We're looking for yummy restaurant's.

I like a lot of the restaurants over in New Orleans Square. I've never been disappointed at any of the places we've eaten there.

But with that said, we normally get breakfast at the hotel and leave the park to have a late lunch/early dinner off site. There's the Anaheim Gardenwalk very close by and they have a lot of restaurants there. You can get more food, for about the same money you'd spend at DL, and it gives you a small break from the crowds! We always return to the park and we snack a lot. Dole Whips, Tigger Tails, Mickey bars (although, we may save the $ and get those from room service on the ship!)!! I also pack light snacks in our backpack since the kids normally ask for a little snack while we're in line. :-)

Just in case anyone is still looking for a hotel the night before the cruise, I was able to get the Crowne Plaza for a bid of $65.00 with a total of $81.96 on Priceline tonight. I was hoping for the Doubletree but I am not complaining for that price. :goodvibes Now I just need to plan Thursday and Friday night and what we are doing during the day.

Hi All!

Does anyone know if there are any car rental agencies near or at the port?

Thanks!
Jennifer

NEVER MIND, I FOUND THE ANSWER

Thanks, that's a lot of info. What is a Tigger Tail????

What category on priceline did you bid to get Crown Plaza

Is anyone planning on doing a zipline excursion on your own in Puerto Vallarta?
If so, which tour company are you using? We cannot do it through Disney because my son will only be 9 and the minimum age is 10 on the ship.

I really need to start booking hotel rooms and rental car. I think we are planning on heading down toward San Diego to see some family and try Legoland. I would like to go to Knotts but do not think we will have time. I remember it as a kid but do not remember eating chicken but a yummy pineapple and marshmallow cream dessert. Funny how we always seem to remember food. :goodvibes

We are going to do the Los Veranos tour. I have 2 daughters 7 and 12.

We arrive early when they open and spend all day at Knotts. My DS(9) is finally tall enough to ride the roller coasters, and he won't let us miss one of them.

We go out of the park, pick up Mrs Knotts Big Bucket-o-Chicken for lunch, and take it back into the park and eat. Just remember to get your hand stamped for re-entry.

Wish we could make it.

Sounds like a lot of fun!

Hello there, we are going on the Mexican Riviera Cruise as well and are looking at booking our own zip line in Puerto Vallarta, but not sure who we can trust. Any advise??

It's 3.5 stars, I think it says "Best Deal" next to it...I also bid $65 and got CP! :) We'll be there together Meredith! :) We don't get in until 6pm Saturday night so we'll probably be tanked! :)

I have read on bidding for travel that some have got it as low as $55..so you might want to try that low, I just wanted to jump on it...I will say that you need to call the hotel and make your requests as Priceline states, b/c Crowne Plaza told me anyone who books through Priceline only gets king bed smoking! HUH?? I had to pull some heartstrings and since we're booking two rooms and have two asthmatics, she took pity on me, we'll have to wait and see what we actually get...:(

Enterprise is right at the port but they charge a $40 fee for dropping off elsewhere....also they don't open until 10am on Sundays. HTH!!

I started my bid at $55.00 hoping for the Doubletree but ended up bidding 3 times up to $65.00 and got CP. I read your post on another thread about the King beds and smoking so I have made a note to call as it gets closer. I am not sure what time we will get in that day. We will be renting a car but I am hoping to drop it off at LAX so we do not have to use Enterprise and get charged that fee. My husband has some friends in the LA area that we are hoping to have dinner with and get a ride back to the hotel later that night.

We are going to do the Los Veranos tour. I have 2 daughters 7 and 12.

That is one tour company I am thinking about. I have a daughter that will have just turned 13 right before the cruise. Have you already booked? What time did you book and is that one where you have to get to some office to be picked up? Where do you have to go and how are you getting there?

Thanks,

Meredith

Hi everyone! Long time, no post. Lots going on in the past 5 months. Definitely looking forward to getting away from it all in March. I will definitely be posting more now that we are getting so close to our trip!

Looks like there are some of you who are getting your kids introduced to one another prior to our trip. I am hoping to find a friend or pen-pal for my daughter prior to our trip. She just turned 10 in October. A week before her birthday she was diagnosed with high-functioning autism (some people use the term Asperger's Syndrome). Her main deficit is in social skills and communication, and that is why I am hoping to find a kind hearted, nurturing, and patient kid for her to befriend prior to the trip. It would make things a whole lot easier for her at the Lab/Club if she "knows" someone.

To most adults, Linz seems and acts normal. To most kids, Linz is weird and a little quirky. Because of her social deficits, she doesn't understand the "give and take" of a friendship. She tries, but it is a process that she has to learn, and is starting to (whereas for most kids, its a "natural" thing.) That's why having a friend that is patient and understanding is important.

If someone hasn't "buddied up" yet, and would like a pen-pal, Linz would love to have one. Please feel free to PM me with any questions/concerns.

Hi All!!

I wanted to share a great deal we found on a shuttle to the port and back to LAX

Karmel Shuttles (recommended by fellow Dissers) has a kids travel free deal right now.

The price for a shuttle between Port and LAX is $40 each way all together ie $20 per person!!!

It's a great deal.

We have a group of 15 going ages range from 6 to 40ish. We havent yet booked but I contacted them and we are going to book in the next few days. I believe we have to take a taxi to their office by the college disco?

I have read great reviews.
