March 13th 2011 Fiesta time on the Wonder!

It's official...we paid our trip in full thanks to the Cdn. dollar reaching near parity with the USD :thumbsup2.

Also booked our flights...we had enough reward points to cover two flights, so only have to pay for one round trip Toronto-L.A.! We're flying in on the 10th, probably stay close to Disneyland for a couple days and visit some friends who live out that way, then fly back the day the cruise ends...got a 12:45pm flight home, so hope that works okay.

As for excursions...we'll like do the DCL Paradise beach one in Puerto Vallarta. Also looking at the kids Dolphin interaction in Cabo...and not sure yet about Mazatlan.

The only reason I am thinking of booking the zipline tour through Disney is because we (if we do it) will leave our children on board and DH and I will do it alone. The other tours are going to be a blast. I believe the beach one is by the Lovers Beach you are refering to, but more so Stone Island Beach. Lots to do for little money... Looks like a lot of our Group DISers will be going too. :cool1: The ATV tour we are doing at 9am. Its the shorter tour due to time. We have to be back on board by 3pm so the ATV tour that goes to Calendaria is too long for time. I called and asked and was told to do the shorter tour to be back in time. And this way, our kids can go. DCL only lets you ride single. We have not booked them yet, but again were told we have time to sign up. I am planning on booking them in full next month.

And about posting... Is it just me or is it confusing having two places to post? I cant keep everyone seperate of who is who to get to know them. :confused3 So being that it is getting closer, Just for friendly purposes, Ill be posting here on the DIS. :woohoo:

I'm not sure what to do about excursions,

I think in Cabo, we'll just take water taxis to the beach and maybe just rent ATV's on site....or banana boats or something the kids might like...

I was all gung ho for the canopy rides but couple of reviews said they came back loaded with bug bites and had used bug spray, I'm sure it's a time of the year thing but my 12 year old has horrific reactions to mosquitoes/bugs in general...I just don't want her to have to go through that...the rest of us can get bit 20x and just be uncomfortable but for her even with meds she has an inflammatory response.....:sad2:

I think we'll stay on board in Mazatlan and just enjoy the ship in the warmth of the area :)

Keep posting y'alls plans, maybe something will stick with us! :)

We buy what we call travel soap...I think the one I have is by Tide, but I found out about them from some friends who RV travel a lot..it looks like a piece of thick paper and has all your soap/softener 'baked' into it? One sheet (about 5x5) per load...I buy a pack of these and put 2-3 in a zip lock bag..takes up little space and is neat and non-messy! :) They sell them in the detergent aisle and they come in a little plastic box...
OH! Found them, they're Purex sheets...

HTH!

I've used these sheets and they're perfect for traveling~

Not the Canadian kind we have up here!!! Haha!
Will definately be packing bugspray! And long pants!!

We are almost there as well. It went down a bit today.
We are flying out of Buffalo, a party of 5 (9 including our friends). Toronto was OUTRAGEOUS! Best I could find out of YYZ was on Virgin Airlines. Still ended up being $1400 more then out of Buffalo.
Free tickets are the best!

Glad to see some fellow Canadians on this cruise.:cool1:

I guess I should introduce myself... (sorry forgot to do that!)

Sonya and Mike with three boys ages 14,12,10.
Travelling with our best friends
Tammy and Ken with two girls 15,10.
You will see us dancing up a storm in Rockn' Bar D!!!! Haha!
WE don't get out too much! And when no one knows us, like on a cruise,we like to be a little silly! Especially on the dance floor.:woohoo:

I know I said a while ago I'd be putting together some groups for excursions. I am not quite finished, because I'm having a lot of trouble deciding what I want to do! I think I have it possibly narrowed down:

Cabo, either ziplining or just a beach day, and the surfin excursion for my teen through Disney. If we zipline, I'll leave dd5 onboard.

Puerto Vallarta, there is a whale and dolphin tour I want to do pretty badly, so I think I'm set on that. I think the pirate cruise and snorkel through Disney looks fun, but it is more expensive than the whales and I have always wanted to see a whale! You don't exactly get to see them in most acquariums, lol. Well, except at Seaworld, but you know what I mean. I'm tempted because of price to take dd5 with me whale watching and leave twins12 and dd16 onboard, since they will be doing others (assuming we do ziplining in Cabo). I'm going to have to ask them...would they rather zipline, or whale watch? I bet I know the answer:)

Mazatlan, I think we'll do a horseback ride on the beach, I found a terrific price for it and we can all do it together. I'm excited about the price I found.

So, I'm going to be deciding for sure in the next couple of days, and I'll try to get some group rates in case anyone wants to join us.

Booked this cruise while on the Disney Magic Tranatlantic cruise.

This will be our fourth cruise-Janice & DS Trevor, my younger son Jeremy may also sail with us , but that will depend on school.

We would love to be part of the FE exchange and look forward to meeting you all.

I have an 11 year old daughter that will be 12 the month after the cruise, she has made a request for a pen pal...her sister literally has 5 pen pals all over the world and this poor one has the worst luck keeping it going, she loses their address or they move and we don't get forwarding info..I told her there might be a girl her age she could write to. She's actually already written the letter and put Dear ....... :goodvibes I told her I would try and find any interested...she does irish dancing and loves college football...she's part girl part tomboy! :) Thanks for any help!

Hey there fellow Canadian! Yes, Toronto is always expensive, so we were glad to be able to get two free tickets (flying on Air Canada). We are pretty lazy, so going to Buffalo always seems like so much work :rotfl2:

We are myself and DH and DD7...it's our 3rd Disney cruise (we've done a 7 day western, 3 day bahamas, and 10 night med), so Disney is very comfortable for us :thumbsup2

My daughter would love that, although we are from Missouri so nowhere very exotic. She'll be 12 in January, has a twin brother, loves cheerleading. Irish Dancing, how cool! Let me know if that would work, I'm positive mine would love doing it, but if you want somewhere wordly that is okay too:)

We are out the Hamilton/Cambridge area, so a 45 min drive for us to Buffalo.

It is our 4th Disney cruise and the second time on a cruise with our friends.
We have done both the eastern and the western (our favorite) as well as a 3 night on the Wonder back in 2008 (our first before we drank the Disney kool aid!;)
I want to book the Fantasy tomorrow....but DH says it's time to take a break for a bit and spend our money on some house renos....
Can't wait for Dec.13th so we can book some Palo and spa treatments! It always seems so official when everything is booked!
