Just a word about the terrible trip reports, if you look most of these reports are from people who have almost never posted before. In one case the poster had almost the exact same poor experience two years before on the Magic. For the most part everyone that was on the same cruise did not experience the same problems. As we all know Disney has a way of dealing with lines so that you don't really feel like the wait is terrible, I would assume this has carried onto the Dream. The only crazy part seems to be embarkation because everyone wants to be on as early as possible, we are going to wait till just after 1 to go over to try to avoid waiting in the terminal for loading to start. When we were on the Wonder the terminal was quite busy early on and I can only imagine how crowded it gets with all those extra passengers. See you all soon!
1. You now have times that you can arrive at the port. Before it was just a free-for-all...now everyone has a half hour window they should arrive.
Just wanted to give a shout out to you firegoofy>> I see you are a fellow Ontarion and firefighter also![]()
Hey right back at ya! Yes I am just finishing my 20th year with Toronto Fire.
Cool Are you going to meet? My husband is a full time firefighter with the Chatham Kent fire department.![]()
Yes we will be there, should be able to spot each other as my wife tells me all firefighters have the same look about them.
I will be doing all my packing tomorrow (for 6 people -- UGH!). Finishing up the laundry tonight and tomorrow morning.
The only things that won't be packed are the toiletries, meds, electronics -- yes the 5 cell phones, 6 iPods, 3 iTouches, 1 iPad, 1 laptop, 1 MacBook, 2 point and shoot cameras, 1 DSLR ... whatever would we do without those? How many chargers will that take, and is that a suitcase in and of itself? Thank goodness JetBlue gives us 1 free checked bag per person, LOL.
DH will get back from India on Thursday and he has very sweetly emailed me his packing list, I emailed him a shopping list![]()
I bought some 2 Gallon Ziplocs today for my 10 & 8 yo girls outfits and to preset disembarking clothes.
The kids have already been warned that they have to turn off the cell phones once onboard (they are allowed to take one picture to message to their friends) and then hand them over to me until we off the ship (I put them in the safe with mine which is also off).
TOO MUCH TO DO BUT I AM SO EXCITED!
Hello Jen-n-Greg, I actually emailed them and this is the response they gave me. I have included the email address so you can contact them directly. I will diffidently take a copy of my email with me for proof.
All guests of Comfort Suites Paradise Island have full use of the Atlantis pool, slides and beach facilities and the new aqua venture park.
However we only allow a maximum of 4 persons per room. If you have more than four persons whether it is adults or children you would have to get two rooms.
We do provide a pre-check in anytime after 9am so that you can start you day over by the Atlantis. You would not have access to your room until 3pm the official check in time.
If I may be of any further assistance feel free to contact me.

Guests also have full signing privileges at Atlantis' restaurants and lounges."
I truly admire your efficiency! I am still atNeed to do laundry - that will prob be on Tues. DH and I are working thru Thurs, along with kids' sports practices and after school stuff, so I hate to say it looks like we will be packing Thurs nite! I still need to go shopping for myself and figure out when I can squeeze a pedi in
Very worried about leaving our senior dog at the vets for our trip....I hope it doesn't do him in. I wouldn't forgive myself if it did - he's one of our family
Anyways, pack toAm going to try and finish FE gifts tomorrow. Never thought I would be this far behind at this point.... (silently excited though about the trip!)
I just got the shellac mani and it looks wonderful. The lady said that it could last up to 2 weeks. Thanks for the info. It's not being efficient, it is being a survivalist. I have contractors at my house Monday and Tuesday, a &*^$^&% root canal on Wednesday morning and have to leave Thursday open just in case the dentist needs extra time (please God no) and there are my two personal trainer sessions Tuesday at 2pm and Friday at 10am (yes I am insane but Mommy must be good to herself so I can have extra grown up drinks) and a doctor appointment Tuesday 430 , two physical therapy appointments, and two personal training appointments for kids, dance lessons, horseback riding lessons, etc. And I need to refill Epi Pens (putting that in the calendar to call that in) Yeah I don't have time after tonight -- because did you notice ... my husband is in INDIA! Yes, halfway around the world having nice dinners, a hot stone massage today, and working his a$$ off to pay for this very nice vacation.
And thanks for reminder that I HAVE to squeeze in the mani pedi (I highly recommend the gel/shellac mani if you can find it -- it lasts and survives!).
Has anyone else heard that showtimes on the Dream have changed? It is my understanding that there are only 2 shows - 6:15 and 8:30. I have paperwork that says my show is 7:00. Wonder what will happen to me now?
