March 13, 2011 - DREAM

Let me know how Great Wolf works out. It sounds like a great place. We have been to Gaylord but never Great Wolf.

Kay -

Since we only live about 7 miles from the GWL:), we have been alot (as in about 2x/yr for the last 3 yrs)! From Memorial Day to Labor Day, both the indoor and outdoor parks are open, so it disperses the crowds slightly. This was our first time during the Xmas holiday and it was wonderful - great decorations, lots of fun "Santa" things for the kids to do, etc. And once you stay for the 1st time, you can get on an e-mail list and get discounted rates, etc.

My kids have a blast there and are ALWAYS asking "When can we go to the Great Wolf again?" Doesn't help that we drive by it each week on our way to church! :rotfl2:

Thanks for the info on G W Lodge. You must live close to one of my favorite malls--GV Mills. I have often wished we lived closer, but then I would shop way too often. :lovestruc

I'm just full of questions today. One stateroom in our group had been wait-listed for Main dining but were originally assigned to Late Seating. When they pulled up their reservation yesterday, it said "Dining Preference: Main Seating." Ours reads exactly the same. Does that mean that they have been assigned to Main Seating or that they "Prefer" Main Seating? We are hoping that all eight of us have now been assigned to the same dinner seating.
:dance3::grouphug:

My guess would be that they were moved to the Main seating! Good for them :yay: We're still waitlisted for the Main seating...I just don't see DS holding out that long, even if I feed him earlier. God forbid he's tired and has one of his meltdowns there:scared1: I'll be ordering a large bottle of wine with dinner!

Me again :)

Has anyone been to US/IOA? We're headed there after the cruise for 2 days b/c my 3rd child (DH) is dying to go. I'm wondering that since it will be St. Patty's Day, if they will have a Mardi Gras parade then or not - has anyone been before during that time? Their website mentions "Saturdays and select nites", so didn't know if this counted as a "select" nite.

DH is from LA, so he would love to see a Mardi Gras parade!

TIA :yay:

COUNTRY INNS & SUITES TOOK THAT PROMOTIONAL CODE OFF OF THEIR WEBSITE. I AM SO GLAD I RECEIVED:banana::banana: THE DISCOUNT IN TIME.

Thanks for the reply, Soccermom. Can I assume from your post that your "dining preference" is labeled "waitlisted" when you pull up your reservation from the Disney site? We had not checked the status until last week and did not know if it ever read "waitlisted." The word "preference" in Disney's statement makes it sound undetermined for everyone. :confused3

I had called Disney earlier, linked our three reservations together, asked for the one couple to be waitlisted for main seating, and asked for birthday celebrations for three in our party (one 70th, one 40th, one 10th.) Since we only had two on the waitlist, it was possibly easier to find room for them. There seem to be a lot of cancellations with new staterooms popping up daily.:surfweb: I hope they can accomodate everyone's preference soon!:cheer2:

Hope everyone has had a wonderful day! I have finally come up for air from the Christmas happenings in our house...Merry Christmas :santa:

Can't believe in less than 49 hrs I finally get to go online thru the DCL website and register for excursions, etc.....how exciting!!!

Did you finally tell your family? Merry Christmas (and let the cleaning begin)

Not yet!!!! Almost screamed it out though yesterday, during the Disney Christmas parade when Samantha Brown was showing all the stuff on the Dream! I'm trying to hold out until mid/end of Jan. Delivery of the surprise will be key b/c DH is NOT wanting a Disney vacation of any kind in the near future. Guess I will have to sign him up for the beer & wine tastings onboard, besides going to US after the cruise...

The things we do :-)

Was just curious which excursions (if any), folks are booking for Nassau! I am looking at the Atlantis Aquaventure, but it's pretty pricey, and the Comfort Inn is not much cheaper (once you add in all the xtra fees, cab ride to/from the dock, and lunch). Other options are to stay on the ship, and/or walk around the area (Tortuga Rum factory, straw market, pirate museum, etc).

So, whatcha doin'?

We are going to stay on the ship. I hope we can reserve:confused3 brunch, but that seems unlikely. I will try for Palo tonight.

Oh, I forgot about the rum cake. Maybe I will get off the ship for the rum cake and get right back on.

At the 75 day mark now and NOTHING is available :sad1: The Atlantis Aquaventure excursion I wanted to sign up for is full, no dining available for Remy or Palo. For you past DCL cruisers, do these things tend to open up as time gets closer?

I will probably book a pedicure for myself, but don't know b/c I was going to do that before we left :confused3

So bummed....don't know if I should go ahead and book the Comfort Inn now for Atlantis or wait. Any insight would be helpful :lovestruc

Everything was booked up for me as well:scared1: I really wanted to try Palo because DH loves Italian food.
