March 13, 2011 - DREAM

12 more inches of snow yesterday. We may not get out the back door until May.:scared1::scared1:

We cannot wait for this trip

Hope you are able to get out in March for this cruise!:wizard:I'm sure Disney is sending a little pixie dust magic your way!

I am officially in "panic" mode! Have realized not enough time to get all that I want to get done (working out, clean house, real work, etc) before the trip  Hoping for good weather!

I am so with you on that one soccer mom! DS and DIL have started the process of building a new house. That means they have to get their house ready to show and sell before we leave. DH spent the last two weekends tiling bathrooms and has volunteered to paint next weekend. I spent last weekend trying to help pack up and move boxes to storage, while helping with the girls (9 and 7.) They have their work cut out for them to be ready to leave on March 11, but I'm sure the break will be a welcome one! Hope they can leave the house in the "staged" conditiion the professional stager suggested and get it sold while we are all enjoying Florida and the Bahamas!

Weather has been great. We still need to finish raking leaves this week and start cleaning glass on our glass sunroom before it gets too hot.

I can't believe how close we are to sailing! We are heading to Florida on the 11th with an arrival on the 12th. I am beyond excited. On our way we get to stop in Tallahassee and meet our new niece. My nephew just got married in February and we will meet them for dinner on our way to Orlando. :goodvibes

The weather here is so beautiful. I need to get some spring cleaning taken care of before I leave. I am going to try to start laying clothes out this weekend and see what we need. We did a little shopping Sunday. My husband has lost some weight and his pants were just hanging.

Looking forward to meeting everyone in just two short weeks. I am going to get my FE gifts this weekend and have that all ready to go. I have never done a FE and my kids are super excited. Thanks Soccermom for getting it all together for us. :cheer2:

your day/date:

Day 1/March 13 - Decks 2 & 5, GTY rooms
Day 2/March 14 - Deck 7
Day 3/March 15 - Decks 6 & 9
Day 4/March 16 - Deck 8

**Please refer to this post before you leave for FLA for any updates!!!

I am a little slow these days, does these mean you deliver to Deck 2 and 5 on March 13, or if you have a cabin on Dec 2 you deliver on March 13?

No worries :) I'm sure others will have the same question - glad you asked!

It means if you have a cabin on that Deck, you deliver to all other on that day. For example, on Day 1, March 13, folks in cabins on Decks 2, 5 and GTY rooms will deliver ALL of their FE gifts. On Day 2, March 14, folks in cabins on Deck 7 will deliver ALL of their FE gifts......and so forth.

Hope that helps! Back to :laundy:

Yea!! 10 more days of work!! My last day of work is on the 9th of March. This weekend we will get the oil changed and tires rotated. I've never been this excited about getting the oil changed. lol This pass weekend, I bought the kids some movies to watch on the laptop. Hopefully that would stop them from asking the question....pirate: ARE WE THERE YET?

My entire family is going on our first cruise Mar 13 on the Disney Dream. Little new to blogging. I was trying to figure our all the codes. But here is the list of people going:
ME, my son (11), mother, father, brother, sister, and friend. Can anyone help with the codes? Also I am a single father and my son is the only child going in our group and I would love to meet up with some other family's with kids his age.

Cruising is a great way to travel. We especially love that it is an all-inclusive package of lodging, entertainment, food, and transportation to different locations.

My family, 6 adults and 1 child (age 11), will be taking our first cruise on the Dream. We missed out on the FE, but I if it would be ok, I would like to meet up with your group so my son can meet up with some kids his own age. Thank you!!!

Our son is also 11. He is turning 12 on the ship. We are very excited! Do come to the meet. My son is pretty bashful so he would like to meet some fellow cruisers his age.

I'mWong...thanks. Look forward to meeting everyone. I knew my son would meet some other kids at the Edge or in the Oceaneering Club/Lab. It is going to be nice to meet up with some people before the boat even leaves.

A little about us...my son, DH, and DS are Floridians. We actually live in Orlando...don't hate me. Even though I only live 45 minutes form Port Canaveral, I have never taken a cruise. I have several friends that went on the cast member cruise and said that Disney actually outdid themselves. I also have a friend that went on the Maiden Voyage and said the boat exceeded all their expectations, but the Disney "freaks" on the boat were crazy. She said that she saw a lady corner the captain in the elevator with a 7 page list of changes she was recommending.
I have done a lot of planning and was lucky enough to schedule dinner and high tea at Palo. We will also be taking advantage of the Spa and getting a message. We were going to do the Aquaventure Excursion, but at a price of $160 we decided to look into something else. If any of you would like to go to Aquaventure, check into reserving a room at Comfort Suites Paradise Island. The price for a room is around $350. If you stay at this hotel, you have complete access to all of Atlantis for up to 4 people…including Aquaventure! So instead of spending $1120 for the 7 of us, we will only be spending about $585 (military rate).
At Castaway Cay, we are just planning on taken it easy.
Our rooms are on the aft end of the boat on deck 10, 10160 and 10162.
We really look forward to meeting everyone. If any of you have an recommendations for first timers please share. If you have any questions about the Orlando attractions, just ask. I have annual passes to Universal and Seaworld and have lots of friends that work for Disney.

txsoccermom...I just read you post about making a stop at Universal...it is Mardi Gras right now and at Universal Studios, they will have a parade and throw beads and a free concert with Pitbull. Because it is Pitbull, Universal will be very busy after 7. My recommendations…STAY AT ISLANDS OF ADVENTURE AND IN THE HARRY POTTER ISLAND. The ride is AWESOME…BEST NON-COASTER RIDE IN ORLANDO!!!!
Don’t miss out on the Butter Beer!

OMG - too funny!!! I have a friend who lives in Weston and goes there with her kids alot and she said the same thing about IOA and the Butter Beer:rotfl2: We are staying at the Royal Pacific b/c it's Spring Break and I figured that way, we get the "express pass" thingy for the rides. We're only going to be there 2 days/1 nt right after the cruise, so DH can get his Universal fix! I thought that maybe, just maybe, they might have a parade on that Thur (3/17) nite b/c it is St. Patty's Day, but doesn't look like it - shows Fri 3/18 instead.:confused3 What a bummer. Oh well, figure we'll be around enough crazies the nite of 3/17!

Would we like Harry Potter even though we're not into his books, etc? I was planning on staying in Seussland with the kids while DH rides Hulk, Dueling Dragons, etc:rotfl:

I might be wrong, but I think the Dueling Dragons is now part of the Harry Potter section. Looks like it is the same ride with a different name. My daughter loved the Harry Potter ride and she is not a fan of the books. She said it was so amazing with the special effects. My son and husband also loved it, but they are fans. There are 3 rides total. I only chose to ride one of them. Not sure of the names, though. They have done such a fabulous job on theming. It is so much like walking into a movie set. I loved it myself. We went when it first opened. I had not been to Universal Orlando before though, only Universal Hollywood so I don't have anything to compare it to. We did do alot of other Universal rides and had a really good time there.

I sure hope this 2 weeks fly by because gas prices in Houston is rising every hour.:scared1: The way the gas prices are rising, 2 weeks seems like an eternity.

jenerra - I was thinking the same thing about the gas price. I don't have to drive far, but my parents, brother and sister are will be driving from Michigan.

wong - you are correct, they just renamed the dueling dragons to the Dragon Challenge. They also renamed are redesigned the Flight of the Unicorn to the Flight of the Hippogriff. The main ride (HP and the Forbidden Journey) is the best. It may be a shorter line, but don't use the single rider line...you will miss out on one of the best parts of the ride, the walk thru the castle.

I dicided to take the afternoon off and head out to Cape Canerval for 2 reasons. First, the Space Shuttle Discovery went up for the last time. It is quite awe inspiring. The other reason I went over was to take a peek at the Dream. OMG. The Carnival Sensation was in port also and the Dream made it look like a tugboat. The AuqaDuck was so high up, it actually looked quite small.

I look forward to meeting you all.

It has jumped 22 cents in the last 5 days here! How ridiculous!
