March 11, 2007 4 Night Wonder

All of your door signs look great! Will they be printed on a regular size piece of paper each or are you having them enlarged.

Great Job!! Don't know if I'm that ambitious.

They are just regular size paper. This actually helps me occupy lots of downtime at work. :ssst: Don't tell the Big Boss.

Has everyone started packing or am I the only one that ridiculously excited? The only thing I'm dreading is swimsuit shopping. Haven't worn one in let's say, 20 years. We'll see how it goes tomorrow.

We too will be joining all of you on this cruise. It will be myself, DH, DS (8), and my sister's family is also going. She has two girls ages 8 & 10. This is our first Disney cruise, and the first cruise for all of the kids. They are soooo excited (well, I am too.) I hope it is a wonderful experience for all.

I'm so excited to hear of the girls going. My dd age 11 is so excited. How are the girls chatting? The last cruise we went on we all got each others e-mails and had a group mailing. That way we could give details without posting them for "all" to see. Lady Rob - your doorsigns look great! You might want to add "Lady Rob" to them so fellow disers will know who you are! And you might want to reconsider the kids names on the signs. I know everyone wants to think that Disney is safe, but you just never know.

The closer it gets we need to make a meet time. Like, everyone meet at Beach Blanket Buffet at 2pm or at the Sail Away party. We need to have a special tag or something so we can recognize each other. I'm getting so excited!!!!

Great, another 8 yr old boy! My ds8 will be so excited. He loves the lab and can't wait to meet some new friends.:cool1:

My husband said the same thing about the names as soon as he saw them. I am in the process of changing them. Thanks for the concern.

I think that's a great idea...to all meet up early on. Since I will be walking around lost and clueless for the first few days (I'll know my way around as soon as it's the day to get OFF the ship, I'm sure), you guys just let me know where to meet. How can we "tag" ourselves?!?!?!?!

It doesn't matter to me where to meet, but I just thought I would mention that in the past when I cruised, the meets have been at the Promenade Lounge on Deck 3 around 3:00 (before the safety drill which is at 4:00). Earlier than that and some people aren't on the ship yet or they are having lunch or at the pool.

There is usually no one else in this lounge at this time, so we have had it all to ourselves in the past. The kids have been able to meet each other so they have familar faces to look for that night in the Lab. If you haven't been on the ship, this lounge is an open area with lots of tables and chairs.

I think this is great idea! You know, Lime Green is the official color of the DISers. We usually get the mouse head paint samples at Home Depot for our door, we could use these as name tags.

Didn't know about the lime green...but that's a good idea. The Home Depot paint guy is going to start hiding the paint samples when he sees me walking his way!!! I've already swiped so may of those things.

We all know what "LadyRob" looks like - from her beautiful wedding portrait - and I already know Ms. "Marlower"...I will at least be able to spot those two!

OK...stupid question time...

Do they heat the pools on the ship?

My DS (8) would love to meet other boys his age. He is looking forward to going to the kids club.

Okay with me! Can't wait!

We are going to be on the March 11th cruise too and are soooo excited! This is our first cruise as a family. I have an almost 5 year old son and an almost 7 year old daughter (their b-days are in May!). The kids are excited to check out the kids club activities and see the ocean.

Only a little over 5 weeks away!

Can someone fill me in on the door sign thing? I see some talk about it, but am not sure what it means or why people do it????

thanks!

Kim

Welcome! The door signs are just for fun. They let other DISers know where you are and it makes it easy for the kids to find their doors. Lady Rob posted her signs a few pages back. There is also a Thread just for Door Signs on this Board. Have fun with it, we just recommend not putting your kids names on the sign. Looking forward to meeting everyone.

Did you hear that the shuttle will be launching at 6:43 on March 15th. Hopefully, we will be able to see it.

I think that's only about an hour before we dock. That would be an awesome highlight to the end of the cruise!

How close is the cruise ship port to the shuttle launch pad?

Is that am or pm? The Cape is about 10 miles away, we should be able to really see it. I was in Melbourne which is about an 1 hour away years ago and was able to see a day launch like it was right in front of me.
