March 11, 2007 4 Night Wonder

I have a count down poster in our family room, so I am counting down the weeks until our trip.

I guess it is actually 9 weeks from tomorrow, but we leave 9 weeks from today.

My kids still think it is too far away to get excited, but 9 weeks doesn't sound long to me.

This will be my first cruise ever!!! First for my girls, also, ages 5 and 10. It is a surprise for them...we aren't telling them until we are headed for the airport! Try getting passports for kids and not giving them a reason!! If we can keep the secret just a little longer...

Anyone have any helpful hints for me, the first timer?

Due to me having to get a new vehicle we had to cancel our cruise. We are still going to disney with our friends. I actually cried when I had to canel it just before Thanksgiving. Oh well--maybe in two years we will be able to go again. I can just see Castaway Cay and will just have to daydream about that for now. Hope you all have a great trip.

So sorry to hear that you've had to cancel. Unfortunately real life sometimes interrupts our Disney Dreams. Keep the dream alive and someday you will be able to go! Sending Pixie Dust your way!!!

Found out yesterday that some friends of ours will be joining us on this cruise. Can't wait! :cool1:

:dance3: :cheer2:

Well 7 weeks from today we will be boarding the Wonder!

Pigget74, I'm sorry you won't be able to go this time. I just read on the board that in 2008, the four night wonder will be stopping twice at CC in the summer. That sounds like a great time go! Maybe next year.

amyintexas, how fun that your friends will join you. Once we had other families come with us and we had a blast (even though it was during Hurricane Jeanne and we all had to disembark on Friday night and stay at the Dolphin to avoid the hurricane).

We will also be on the cruise. I have a 7th grade daughter as well and a 4 grade daughter. We are keeping the cruise a surprise for them!

Will your 7th grade daughter be in the Lab? or the Teen area? If she is going to be in the Lab, there are 3 other 7th grade girls on here that will be there as well.

If she is going to be in the lab and you decide to tell her ahead of time about the cruise, she can email with my daughter ahead of time if she would like to meet up with someone else who will be onboard. And if she goes on VMK, that is even better. I think that is how the girls are chatting right now that are going to be there.

You can PM me if you decide you want her to email or VMK chat before the cruise.

WOW! These 7 weeks can't come soon enough. I am so jealous of whoever is boarding the Wonder today. We live in Orlando and the weather today is beautiful. Perfect for cruising.

amyintexas and marlower, I am surprising DD10 too! Her birthday is in Feb. so this is part of her gift. DD1 has a birthday in March so we will celebrate with her on the ship.

ladyrob and westjones-- I can't pm yet until I have 5 posts I believe--I am working on it. Do either of you allow your daughter to do self check out in the lab?

My girls check themselves out, but this is their 8th cruise and they know their way around better than I do sometimes! Also, we always book our rooms on deck 5, so we are right around the corner from the Lab. That way they have a very short walk back to the room from the Lab. The Lab staff will send you a message on your pager letting you know your child checked out and went back to the room so you can meet them there.

Once you are on board, you will be able to see if you are comfortable with them signing in and out. We use a buddy system (but since I have twins, that is easy).

BTW, I sent you a PM

DD10 will not be able to check herself out of the lab because this is our first cruise and I don't want her wandering around alone. Things may change once we get there and I see that she can find her way safely. The pager system also makes me feel better. I didn't know they used it for kids that can check themselves out.

Is anyone else making door signs? I want to post what I've made so far but I don't have enough posts. Working on it though. This is #9.

Would love to see your door sign. I don't even know where to begin. Any suggestions?

I copied alot of ideas from the "what does your magnetic sign look like" thread. I can't post any links yet.

Then I used Printshop to make them my own. I laminated them with sheets from Target. My magnets came in a roll from Walmart.

Maybe I can post them now.
