March 11, 2006 - 7 Day Magic

Yep - I've been lying low - not talking about illness for fear it would strike us. Because of course - if we plan on going somewhere SOMEONE has to get sick! :rotfl2:

DD came home from the park screaming about her ear. I should say hysterically crying. I rushed her to the doctor - and she does indeed have an ear infection. She's on antibiotics now - and asleep. Doctor says she should be back to normal by Thursday. :cheer2:

In the meantime - I'll all about Zycam! They taste like cardboard - but I am a believer! :worship:

Woo-hoo - the kids are singing the countdown song every morning. Gotta love it!

Made my order with Shirley today. Everyone is right, she is soooo nice and eager to please you. I know my kids are going to "freak out" from excitement when they see the basket. I wanted to order something for my husband too, but since he doesn't drink and isn't really into sports, I couldn't think of anything for her to put in a basket for him. :sad2:

I for one HATE public speaking. I can talk to kids all day long, but when I have to talk to the teachers in our school in a large group, I get really nervous. I get over it in a few minutes, but those initial 10 minutes are terrible. I actually have to do a big software training on the 29th and I am already getting nervous! I need the cruise to work up my courage! :lmao:

Leslie...thanks for the evening update. We missed you this morning.:cheer2:

I hope everyone's days at work "sail by" smoothly!! :goodvibes I have a few things left to pack and I will be ready to hit the airport. We could only get a 7pm flight (due to the time I get off work) so we aren't even getting to Orlando until pretty late.

:cheer2: :welcome: Lv2Cruise! I know what you mean about spending time with your kids. We have been on about 8 cruises and for the most part, we all stay together, but my kids are really excited about the DCL kids clubs, so we will have to see what happens.

M, I know what you mean about having at least three Michelles in every class. I think Jennifer was the number one name in 1978. Thats why we didnt name our kids ordinary names. But im not gonna tell you guys what there names are.....you might be crazy internet freaks! :lmao:

Oh I just cannot wait!!! Does anyone else feel like it still can't possibly be this close? I went to the Dr. today and get myself on a Z-Pack so now I should be germ free by Friday! Yay! Still drinking the wine so I don't know which one is working! ;)

I keep finding more and more clothes to buy and more and more things I want to pack! I have told my hubby to keep me OUT of the stores! Of course, I bought my daughter several new dresses already and then I found ANOTHER one yesterday. My mother is cracking up, at this point, my daughter will have to be in a different dress every few hours, just to wear them all!!!

Ok, so you all HAVE to check out these videos of my dad's band and my mother just dancing away! Go to:

:cool1::rockband: www DOT golfcomplex DOT COM/luckythethreeleggeddog DOT html :dancer: :music:

:disrocks: :disrocks: :disrocks:

and check out the videos and the photos. The lady with the spikey hair and
the gray jacket - yep, that's my mom dancing like a maniac!!! You have to have quicktime installed to view the videos, and remember, these are totally horrible recordings. But fun!

I've been packing most of my things today, finally. I have the DSs almost finished and DH is on his own. Of course, his suitcase is empty. He will pack Friday morning before we head to the airport. He travels constantly for work, so he's pretty much on autopilot when it comes to packing. He needs to remember to pack some vacation clothes, though.

I guess I never told you my name, which is Lori. I can just see us walking up to each other at the DIS meet and saying hi, you must be Amesmom, etc. :rotfl:

I'm just the opposite of some of you about the clubs. I'm just hoping the youngest DS takes to the clubs so DH and I can get some alone time. He didn't like going last time, but was only 3 at the time and hadn't started preschool. I'm not expecting the same problems this time around. Oooh, I'd better knock on wood now that I said that. :rotfl2:

Lori, im in the same boat as you! My youngest was only three last time too, Now hes in Kindergarten and we have discussed that there will be no issues with going to the clubs! My ds9 is trying to decide if he wants to stay in his age group, or go with his brother. I guess well figure it out then.

Kc..... which one of those wild women are you?>\

Well, I certainly hope you're in the same boat as me. :rotfl2: Sorry, couldn't resist. Need a vacation.

DS8 is also considering moving down to the 5-7 group, but not to be with his brother. :rotfl: He's just afraid he won't get any time to play on Captain Hook's ship since they spend almost all their time in the lab with the 8-9 group. But I told him we can play in the club all we want on the first evening during the open house time. There is also a campout in the club later in the week. That seemed to be enough for him, and I think he's decided to stick with his age group. He may still change his mind, however. I've heard DCL is somewhat flexible about changing to a different age group, especially to be with a sibling. I hope that's true.

Ha! I am taking most of the photos and videos, so none!

The only thing my daughter talks about is going to the clubs. Since we are traveling with friends, she even thought that maybe the other little girl won't want to go to the clubs. She asked me if that happened, could she go anyway???

When I asked her last year if she wanted a Disney World or Disney Cruise vacation this year, she picked the cruise. Her reason was because of the clubs!!

Ha Lori! I didnt even catch that!! It was late. i was tired!!Only 3 more days till we leave for Mco!! I still cant believe im paying $215.00 for a stinkin hotel room @ the Hyatt! Ill keep checking hotwire till the moment i leave for the airport!

Hey people - we are into double digit hours! Assuming we board at noon on Sat., we have 96 hours and 35 minutes to go ! party:

I'm all packed except for a few last minute things. This is good since I have about a 15 hour work day today. YES, I am working very hard right now, in case you were wondering!

I'm looking forward to meeting everyone. I wonder how long it will take to stop thinking of eachother as Mortlives, Amesmom, DisneyPinDiva, etc. I need to remember to print and bring the roll call. DH is worried people will call him sk8ingmom DH!

:drinking1 I know you cant prebook for the wine and beer tasting sessions, but does anyone have any tips on ensuring you get a spot...is it straight to the concierge on boarding???....

My DH would die if he missed the beer session and I feel the same about the wine, Okay, so now you know our priorities for the cruise.. :woohoo: :rotfl2:

I just told my husband, Im not as excited as I should be and I know its all about the amount of work I have to tie up before we leave :surfweb:

Come Thursday, I will be vibrating :goodvibes

My DD15 has become an insomniac because of the trip, she is so excited

Well, the root canal is done...we'll see what happens as the freezing continues to wear off!!! :rolleyes1

I'd like to know about booking the wine/beer tastings too (yes both and yes, likely both DH and I :teeth: ) I've also heard there is tequila tasting...maybe, if we time this right, we could to an around the world alcohol tasting in 7 days!! :drinking:

Choople...just think...if u tie up all that work before you leave, u don't have it to come back to! U gotta same some room for excitement, right?? :confused3
]
Since my flight is at 7am, I guess it's 91 hrs. 25 min...KEWL! :thumbsup2

pixiedust: No Pain Pixie Dust comin' your way pixiedust:

Gosh, I am working so very hard today... I am so motivated....

I think you know the best way to get in on that wine/beer/tequilla tasting group - and you are keeping it from us! :rotfl2:

Oh... only 89 hours....

Actually, DH and I are psyched about the martini tasting. :drinking1 The Navigator says you reserve at Guest Services. Wonder how fast it fills up.

I'M ON VACATION!!!!!!!!!!

Left the office today at 3 pm.....gassed the car up on the way home (and washed it too)
.....went out for dinner and now to pack the car!!!!!

We hit the road in 11 hours!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Just read a couple of apges of messages - girls you've been busy. My name is Tracey (otoole is my last name) - realised like amesmom that a first name might be helpful.

Castaway Stowaway - I too can't believe that we spent $215 (US$$ for us) for the Hyatt the night before - and yes still hoping Hotwire posts before Friday - if you see something please let me know and vice versa. Of course we are flying Southwest and of course I was dinged every hour through Dec and January and have received nothing for the cruise dates so I am not holding my breath.

Disney Pin Diva - you know all and yet now that we are writing about beer/wine/margarita tasting you are quiet!?! You are holding out on us I am sure :rotfl2: ! Okay talk about priorities I was checking out a navigator and saw that they had all three tastings in one day and some times conflicting I believe and found myself questioning if I could manage to visit more than one in a day - probably could but equally likely that I wouldn't make it to dinner and to pick up my kids from the club - not a good plan - so exitied the navigators and figured I would face the decision once aboard.

We went to Disney last year for March Break and LOVED IT! Although we bought a pack of six beer and I think shared one because we were so exhausted at the end of each day that we were in bed with the kids each night. So like others have mentioned I am looking forward to some "Mommy Time" although also know that I am my own worst enemy and will probably begging my kids to spend time with us since that is what family trips are all about after all. :)

I posted a question on the general forum and haven't heard much does anyone here know? Question: Can you book stingray city once we dock at port with a company? - our son (6) wants to do it, our daughter (4) we are uncertain about and would prefer to see and wait the day of - we have to book non-disney since the disney excursions cut off at 5 years old.

:cheer2: GOOD EVENING CRUISERS!:cheer2:
3 Days 17 Hrs 12 Mins 53 Secs
Until our MAGICal Cruise!!
Elaine... you'll be leaving in about 9 hours!!!!!

Another day of work... racking up the extra $$ for Cruise "stuff" Yes, I'm still shopping as well... although not having much luck!
NOW... as for the wine/beer/martini/tequila tastings. They have tons of them! You can book it once you see it in the Navigator. They run about $12-15 per person. We did the Martini tasting last cruise. I had NEVER had a martini in my life until that time. Now I can't get enough of them. Hmmmm... somewhere I have a picture of us after the 5 martini's in 30 minutes...... let me tell you it's not pretty.....:rotfl2:

Tracey: I would imagine you would have no trouble booking a Stingray City tour at the dock. Captain Marvin is who was recommended to me but I know there are others also. Just be careful, I've been told that sometimes there are scammers who sell you a "ticket" and it's worthless when you show up for the tour.
