March 10 announcement?

It actually makes sense to announce european sailings at a european fair, doesn't it?

Maybe they will even announce that Disney Fantasy will take over the Med right from the start, after all, she's from Germany as well. No long TA crossing...

Except that they're already booking the Fantasy for Caribbean cruises in 2012. Not that that would stop them from canceling them and moving it, but it's not likely.

How long would it take to sail from California to Hawaii? 4 days?

Would we have to fly to Hawaii first then just cruise aournd the islands?
Any speculation out there?

Can't wait for the official announcements! Anytime now, right?

By law, DCL can not cruise around the Hawai'in Islands with out having a port stop in a foreign country. That means a 7 night cruise would be most likely a 9 or 10. Should the AK market prove to be a real money maker, DCL may decide to repo from CA to AK via HI, about a 14 night cruise, usually taking 5 nights at sea to get to HI perhaps staying there a night or 2, then up to Canada.

I happen to think this is the most likely scenario (repo to/from LA to Alaska via Hawaii), but the other possibility floating around out there is repo-ing from LA to Asia via Hawaii.

I hear you! I plan to be on the Nov. 10, 2012 sailing on the Fantasy, preceded by a week at WDW. We would be a group of 3 adults and I can't wait to find out the pricing for this.

Come on, DCL, 3 more guests are anxiously waiting! Now I'm hoping for that press conference in Berlin tomorrow.

For what ever reason, DCL has not posted them, but you can call and book them now.

Disney Cruise Lines has just announced that today....






....is Thursday.

My DH must have missed that announcement...he called my cell phone this morning to ask where I was at...I replied "at work"...he said, "I thought you didn't work on Tuesdays anymore." To which I replied, "I don't...today is Thursday!"

Thanks, so that press conference replaces the rumored one for today? While I agree tha it might make sense to announce sailings for Europe in Europe what doesn't seem right is that they would schedule it for 10a.m. when the US will be asleep - regardless of where they are sailing from US residents are their core customers, why not schedule it for 4:30pm in Berlin when at least those in EST are in business hours...

How many US Travel Agents will get up at 4am to watch this?

They may just be announcing that the Disney Fantasy has started being built. Old news here but for anyone that isn't as anal as all of us here on the DIS it may be new

There was a thread last month that speculated (pretty highly) that Minnie would be the statue in the Atrium.....seems she was very prominent at the coin ceremony last month...like Donald was with the Dream.
