March 10 announcement?

I could see them possibly doing Nassau and Castaway Cay, along with GC, but I think the ports that are further east of the Bahamas (San Juan, St. Thomas St. Maarten, etc.) would be too far to go on a 7 night cruise. Personally, I hope they do not do Nassau - we've been there too many times already, and don't even leave the ship there any more.

I agree! No more Nassau!!! If they do go all the way to CC from Galveston, I'd rather DCL visit PC instead of Nassau if they insist on a second port nearby! You could visit Cocoa Beach, KSC or with a ship full of Disney fans, it'd be a perfect excursion opportunity for a day at one of the parks. That'd be more fun than Nassau for those sailing out of Galveston IMO.

I know what you mean, that's exactly how I feel about Cozumel :headache:

I feel the same way about Cozumel too (we've been there 3 times now). When we were there two weeks ago, my DW and DS got off the ship for all of about 15 minutes. It seemed like every shop was trying to push either cigars or tequila on my DW, and it got old very quickly.

Anyone know if this site is reliable? It has Magic Dates through August:
http://cruisett.com/ships.php?ShipID=88&date=48

No idea, but how can the Fantasy and Magic both be at CC on the same exact days???

This seems to indicate weekly Eastern Caribbean itineraries with the home port "unknown". But if the site is accurate, I don't think it could be that far away from PC based on the itinerary.

It could be doing eastern cruises from NY through August and western cruises from Galveston in the fall.

It's the dates after August 2012 that we're waiting on; so those of August should correspond with the cruises already being booked.

Oh...oops. I thought they were only out til April for some reason.

This might sound crazy, but I don’t know why DCL even stops in Nassau, the port is just blah, if you did it once you would be ok and if you did it twice than it would defiantly be enough. Could DCL replace Nassau with another port on the 3 and 4 night sailings? I really wouldn’t mind even staying at Castaway Cay longer.

DCL is probably forced to agree to a certain number of stops in Nassau considering that the ships are registered in the Bahamas and Disney leases Castaway Cay from the Bahamas.

That's correct, for the privilege of a having the ship registered in the Bahamas, they agree to make a number of port calls there. This is in the hopes that passengers will spend money in the Bahamas. Since most of the merchandise on CC is Disney's the Bahamas don't make much money while the ship is there.

I don't have the link to post....but the Hawaii port reservations for 2 days are at the end of May and again in early Sept (I think) for the Wonder, so it's def just a repositioning to somewhere further away like Asia. That being said, if they're about to announce something huge like that, I'm SURE we'll know about the announcement.....think about how much they pumped up the Alaska announcement, with the Donald video and all...

The link was over in the "Wonder Summer 2012?" thread, but I can't copy links from my iPhone, sorry! (Or at least it'd take me awhile to figure out!)

Disney Wonder

May 6 - 7 September just one date listed. :wizard:

Note: If no pier is indicated next to the dates above, Pier 2 is the assigned pier.

Cozumel, Grand Cayman, St. Thomas and St. Maartin have been done to death! Twelve years of cruising these -- really wish they would change up the itineraries a little for the Caribbean! They've done the Southern Caribbean a couple of times and it was amazing. VERY very happy to see they added San Juan on some of the itineraries next year in place of St. Maartin. :thumbsup2

I thought DCL also owned CC....when they show about the Island being found and built up, they state that they OWN it.....interesting. Wonder why they state they bought it :confused3

I sure hope they hurry up and let us know whats up because we are planning another cruise and we are thinking about going on the Oasis of the Seas with RCC..... the kids are older and by the time we do the next one after Alaska they will be 18 and 15....they are 17 and 14 for the Alaska cruise.

I would like to see it cruise out of L.A for the summer also and not out of Canada. Living in San Diego so have been to Mexico so many times that we dont need to do that for a long while. Besides if I want Mexican food I can drive down the street to one of the million places to get it. We sure do love our Mexican food! yum:goodvibes

We were told in the Castaway Club Gold & Platinum gathering last week on the Magic by Capt. Marco that the Magic will most likely begin a NY in the summer, Galveston in the winter rotation after returning from the Med.

He also said that by Dec 2012, there would be a St. Thomas/Puerto Rico itinerary instead of St. Maarten. I don't recall if it is for both Galveston and the Fantasy or just the Fantasy. At the time, we were talking about the Fantasy.

It's a good way for the TA to try to get people to pay attention to his posts. Create rumors. Unfortunately, it's not like the Dis can control the rumor mills.

With respect, I wasn't trying to start rumors or trying to get people to "pay attention" to me. I was simply passing along information given to my agency and thought I had made clear when I posted that while I had no reason to doubt our district managers information, obviously things can change. He is not the top person in charge and clearly it was not his decision as to when information comes out. Every TA is eager for this information, both for personal and professional reasons. But to suggest I purposely started a rumor or hadno basis for sharing what I did is offensive. I shared to be helpful, and never claimed it was a definite date set in stone. Believe me, I amdissapointed, but I am not some noob who set out to lie.
