March 10, 2012 - Eastern on the Magic

I'm not sure what they offer onboard.

A couple of trips ago DD and I had our nails done a nice bright red and asked to have the big toes done with Mickey heads in black. We caused quite the flurry of chatter in the salon ... the attendants all got it (and they did a very nice job), but I think some of the clientele thought I was nuts!

We proudly marched around WDW in our open-toed sandals, and not one person said anything! We enjoyed seeing Mickey every time we looked down, though!

This was one of my first experiment with a Mickey head on my finger nail. Right now, I have white Mickey Heads on 3 out of 5 fingers on each hand with red background (no pictures available)

Would love to have this done on the cruise!!!!

So cute!:)

I usually get the mani/ pedi before we leave.
Have not had one onboard yet.
I do love the treatments in the spa though!

That sounds very nice! Especially if it's via ferry. Where is the ferry located? You have checked the schedule? I may look into that...

So basically from phillipsburg you would take a taxi to marigot then the ferries there run every 30 min to 45 min. I would just look at the sights in marigot, the market etc, if I had to wait for the ferry. The ferry is only 20 minutes aprox long and take you to blowing point. From there you can either take a taxi to Shoal bay which is supposed to have the nicest beach in the carribean or to rendezvous which is alot closer with views of st. maarten, equally as beautiful but not as crowded. this is one of the filmin locations of the bachelor, this particular beach. They also have dunes preserve which is supposed to be one of the coolest beach bars. If you go to shoal bay you can do some snorkeling. I am opting for rendezvous, because i would like to have an hour to walk around grand case, and may be a little shopping in phillipsburg to the guavaberry imporium..

I just had a friend get back from eastern carribean magic cruise this saturday and she brought be back the personal navigator for each day if anyone has any questions

Where is everyone coming from the night before the cruise? Will anyone be staying in cocoa beach? or port canveral, still trying to decide where to stay. I am thinking by the pier

Ooooh!
Would love to know who the cruise director is ( is it Peter?:confused3)
And who are the entertainers? Magicians?

Thanks!

Our flight comes in late on Friday night, so we are staying at a MCO hotel, then renting a van for Saturday. We would love to stay at Cocoa beach, and originally booked Four points ( thought the boys would like it there), but unfortunately, plans changed. It's nice to wake up the day of the cruise and not have to travel.

We are coming from South Florida and going to just drive up to Melbourne the night before to make it a shorter trip in the morning. Driving up in the afternoon on Friday. Will be able to be there bright and early Sat morning!

Our flight also comes in on Friday night, and we're staying at WDW for the night since we are DVC members and could stay on points. Its a bit more travel time for us, but this way I can start stuffing myself early by enjoying the breakfast buffet at Boma before we leave for the Port! :lmao:

I'd usually be worrying about the weather at this point, since coming from MA that can be tricky, but it appears we will practically have spring temperatures by then this year!

We arrive around 7pm Friday night and will stay at an airport hotel. As a treat for the kids (and adults) we will take a stretch limo to the port Sat morning.

We're flying in to MCO Friday, staying at a hotel near the airport and renting a car to drive to the port Saturday morning.

Apologies, but I can't seem to find where/when the meet is going to be - has that been decided yet? My daughter is a little shy at first and I'm hoping that she can meet some other teens (she's 15) to hang out with through the week.

I believe it is at 3pm in the Promenade Lounge on deck three.

I'm curious to know what days the alcohol tastings are on. Somebody mentioned having recent navigators, could you look and post. I want to sign up when we get on board, and I need to sort this out over the coming days. Thanks in advance.

We're staying at the Residence Inn in Cape Canaveral. It's about 5 minutes to the Port. We've stayed there a few times and it's very nice.

We are getting closer! DGM bought her formal dress on Saturday...so excited for her!

We will drive up from Southwest Florida on Friday evening and stay over at DGM then drive over to the Port Saturday AM!

We are flying into MCO on March 7, staying at Wilderness Lodge Villas. According to DundasDad we'll love it, and I'm sure he's right! Then on Saturday morning it will be off to the Hyatt at MCO to pick up DD's BFF and her dad, and it will be off to the port!

Sauterelledesiles, we love those nails. That is exactly what DD and I had done for our Christmas trip!

And can you believe it? I now have THREE To Do lists going before we head off. One in the kitchen for regular stuff (ski trip, dance rehearsal, tax prep), one by the computer for cruise stuff (print magnets, print journal pages) and another at work! :rotfl2:

I know people think I'm crazy for getting organized early, but if I didn't I'd go crazy. My clothes are sorted; DD did hers last weekend; and DH will be last, the weekend before.

Forgot to mention that I second the request to Imacanuck for info on the performers, especially those offering the 'adult' entertainment.

What is the info for the first night in RockNBarD? Last year it was a grown-up scavenger hunt, which was a hoot. I'm hoping a number of DISers will be able to join us! The more the merrier! (And dare I say, we won some nice prizes!)

I'm so ready for "adult" entertainment! Cannot wait! Hopefully the boys will cooperate and want to stay way late at the clubs :rolleyes1

I finished my last FE gift this afternoon and getting them all ready to be packed. Still have to print tags, but once I figure out how I wish to make them, should be easy.

Wanted to tell Imacanuck that we've included you on our distribution list, if you can let us know of your cabin number.... :thumbsup2

See you all real soon!!!
