March 1-5, 2009 Wonder Cruise

I am so excited.

We are finally getting close enough to our cruise date for my DH to get excited!! I have been dreaming about this cruise ever since I booked it last April. Unfortunately, my DH didn't find the same excitement in talking about a cruise that was so far away. :confused3

Today, he asked me if I knew where the DCL DVD was because he would like to watch it. :woohoo: We sat and watched it together and enjoyed every minute of it.

He is finally interested in all of the fun we are going to have. He even asked me if I thought we would be able to eat at Palo -- good thing I already made our reservations!! :cool1:

I love it when the DH gets excited it just makes it all that much more fun. My hubby and I talked about for like 3 hours the other day while he was "working". It never fails one of us starts the conversation with so what is it you can't wait to do? It just carries it self after that!

Hi all. I HOPE to be on this cruise too. This is the date that works best for us, but DH still refuses to book till it gets closer. It has a little to do with his job, but also becuase he just does everything last minute and I swear also because he loves to drive me mad. He does this every year for every vacation. One year we had a weekend get away planned with my older children and he cam in to get ready to leave and change his mind on where we were going (driving) and we went on a better trip than origionally planned. LOL!
So anyways, I am proceeding with my research and planning like this is the date we are going. This wil lbe our first Disney cruise (I have sailed NCL twice and DH once) and DD4's first cruise ever. I also turn 40 on Feb 14th so it will be a b-day celebration as well.
What Cat.s are you all booked for? What dinner seating? What excursions?

Hi jensieb and welcome to our cruise meet thread! Sounds like you have lots to celebrate on this cruise. :goodvibes We are booked for cat 11 and first dinner seating. We aren't booking any excursions...but I do have a couples massage booked...shhhh! Don't tell DH--it's a surprise for him!

jenseib--I added you to our cruise list in post #42. :thumbsup2

Hi everyone we are going on this cruise too!! Just myself, my huasband, and our 5 yr. old son! He is so excited to meet other kids to play with! :wave2:

Hi starmom--welcome to our cruise thread! I'm adding you to our "list" in post 42.

Yeah more people! Has anyone made magnets to decorate their stateroom doors? I have been going magnet crazy! I needed something to do and Dh said that its too soon to pack:confused3

Welcome! I have a DS also but he is 8 so i think they will be in different clubs:guilty: Bummer! Im sure he will find LOTS of kids to play with!

Ya, I'm sure he will find lot's of kids to play with...does anybody know about the departure time of the ship? We are flying that morning should be landing at 10:00 am, will we make it if there are no flight delays?princess:

I have never been before however from what i have read in the passporter and online all aboard time is 4pm. the Ship doesnt actually leave until around 5pm. We are also flying in the morning of and we dont land until 12:30 pm :scared: Did you puchase land transfers? That is the thing that i am worried about because we have to wait on them when we get to the Orlando airport. It is about a 1 hour drive to the port from the airport! So I think we wont be to the termial until about 3 :scared:

We are actually landing in Tampa, (because the price was waaayyy less) So add another 1/2 hr. to our drive. We have my inlaws who live in FL picking us up and giving us a ride, if it all works out we should be at the ship by 2:00! I dare that airline to try and tell my we aren't leaving on time! hehe!:hyper:

I'm surprised Tampa is cheaper? I know from my area it wasn't as I looked at tit oo. LOL!
We are still unoffically booked, so I am still trying to decide if we want to do the disney transfer or rent a car. I think we may try to fly in the night before too. Since we live in OH and have alot of snow on the ground I want to be sure we get there and don't miss the boat. I'm also considering staying one night after too to let DD calm down. The last two trips to WDW she has gotten overstimulated and by day 4 has thrown up. I am thinking if we do a day of just relaxing at a hotel and maybe some swimming and napping the ride home wil lbe better. She has also had meltdowns at the airport, especially last year as she was so tired and not feeling well. I know DH will grumble about staying another day, but I do think it might be in our best interest.

Well it sounds like a good plan. Our DS has Autism and we have worked 5 yrs. to get him to this point. I am comfortable with taking him on a cruise finally. We have done WDW in the past 3 times and everytime it is just too much. So, I'm hoping this time will be different. He is very into making friends so I figured this would be a good place to start, he also wants to dance with a "girlfriend" as he says, hehe!!

Hi ShawnaH--me too! I've been making some magnets, t-shirts and a couple of other fun things for the kids. I made them each a journal for our trip.

Poppy- I love the idea of a journal! My DS would probably have me commited if I tried to get him to write for "fun" :rotfl2: I really like the T-shirt idea but being the only girl i have been out numbered on that one! I think at last count I had 15 magnets made

So what kind of weather should we expect this time of year in the Bahamas? Is the water warm? I read something about Sealice? Has anyone had any encounters with this? Also I have an excursion planned from 3- 4 on Castaway Key, will I make it to get out DS at the child care and then back on the boat for Main seating dinner?

Well count me out now. UGH> DH just doesn't want to cruise, no matter what I told him, he was afraind he'd get bored. So we switched and are going to WDW instead and a week later.

Well that's disappointing! But, Disney World is sooo fun too! Tell him that's fine, I am booking the most expensive room then, hehe! You will still have fun! I personally am a WDW fanatic. I just wanted to try the cruise to try something different, we will be spending 1 day at WDW before we head home!
