I am thinking 48 and calm at the start on Saturday and 52 with a slight northwesterly breeze on Sunday. (fingers crossed):santa:

I don't really want to guess because I'm scared to. I would LOVE the weather you described. I've only done Disney the last two years, and we've had 34 deg one year and 312 deg the next year. Ok, mid 80's and humid, but it felt like 312.

My secret theory is that mecause Mel (chimera) wore 8 layers of clothes for the half two years ago, resembling a homeless woman at the start :) (Mel, I think we need to see the pictures again), Mother Nature smiled down on her the next year and brought us a sauna to run in.

But if I had to WISH, I'm going to hope for 35-40 degrees at the start and 50 at the finish. :thumbsup2

Steve

40 start and 50 finish. I could sign up for that. After last year it was about 4 days before I could pee without pain. If I could avoid that it would be nice. Ice doesn't sound that fun either.

2006 - way too cold
2007 - way too hot
2008 - time for it to be just right!!

Steve--that sounds like great running weather to me--really hoping for that.:thumbsup2

I like your weather forcast! I would even tolerate it a bit cooler or warmer but I think you hit just about perfect.

I just hope it doesn't rain! I have run 2 half marathons in rain and it isn't much fun. I think a full would be miserable.

OK! THere is no science involved here, but I have ran WDW 04, 05, 06, & 07. There has been a pattern thus far.

04 - COLD
05 - HOT...but not as hot as last year (07)...but last year I also finished over an hour better than 05. So the running faster may have made me feel hotter.
06 - COLD (I did Goofy!)
07 - Well you guys know...HOT!

So this year may be cold again. I think the 1st year was the best weather b/c it warmed a bit near the finish.

Disclaimer!
There is nothing to say this will happen....I do not work for the weather.com or accuweather...nor did I stay in a Holiday Inn Express last night!;)

Dang Christa, if your weather prediction is correct, I may have to rethink Goofy 09. I am a cold weather girl and heat just makes me melty!! :lmao:

Hoping for Steve's weather! Can't wait 'til we can get teh 15-day forecast. May not mean anythign, but at least I'll feel like I have a clue. I know 06 was freezing, but it was such a cold winter here, that the 67 at the end felt like an oven. Endign in teh 50s would be heaven! :wizard: :wizard:

Even though I am doing the 08 Marathon I am hoping for Scott's kind of weather as well. That means it will be cool down here as well and that is MUCH better then the 80's we have now or the 80's we had last January.

Carrie- when I read your post I was thinking "15 day forecast- that's forever away!" and now I'm realizing you will be able to get it about a month from today, and I am FREAKING OUT! :scared1:

It's a given that I'm going to agonize about the weather and my clothing, and I'll probably end up dressed all wrong anyway.

There will be unseasonibly warm weather through Thursday Jan 10. On Friday the 11th a cold front will move across the Florida peninsula, followed by an arctic blast of cold air plummeting the night time temperatures into the high teens through the weekend. :)

No predictions...even the weather guys are iffy until somewhere near 3 days out.

If, as Steve suggests, I do control the weather then I am choosing a race start around 53 degrees and finish around 77.

I would definitely be whining if Vic's prediction comes true...I don't have enough clothes left for that kinda temperature

Mel, I sooo loved that weather.

No snow, no rain though please.

Scott I like your crystal ball. Steve and Pat, that's ok too.

Record high about 86

Record low about 23

Average high about 70

Average low about 48

If I were King, I'd go for about 55 degree start & 65 degree finish. Of course, I guess my finish temperature will greatly depend on my finish TIME!!!!!!

A friend of mine on my forum came up with this historical data regarding weather at the WDW Marathon over the last 10 yrs. Something to chew on:thumbsup2
