marathon weekend AP discounts?

Hello,
Sorry if this question has been answered before, didn't find an answer through searching. Are there typically AP resort discounts the week after New Years? My friends and I are doing the 5k/ marathon but have not booked yet. We want to stay deluxe but really can only do it if there is an annual pass discount. Thanks in advance for your expertise!

Last year the AP discount for 1/1/17-4/8/17 was released on 10/22/16. It feels like a long time to wait Have a great time, marathon weekend is a lot of fun!

Availability for marathon weekend is going to be very slim. It is a bad weekend to travel if you need a discount, as the rack rates are sky high and discount inventories are few and far.

Agree with PP. There are discounts, but are limited and you need to be quick and flexible with your dates/resort choices.

I would first look for general public discounts, which should be released any day now. Book something if you can. Then check for AP discounts that will likely come out later in October. Then either apply the AP discount to your reservation, or adjust your reservation as needed based on any AP discounts that may be available.

I’d still probably plan/budget for the worst though.... tough weekend.

I would be careful because there is almost next to none inventory right now at the rack rates! We are going and I had a really hard time changing my reservation and I've accepted there won't be any discount this year.

The best bet for a discount is to book through a travel agent that had a block of rooms for the marathon. I think the discounts were around 20%, less at the values. I booked mine right after the race last year (then my husband decided two weeks ago he wanted to change our type of room).
