Don't say that! One step at a timeAt what point is it ok to start the "well if we are going to be down there anyway, I might as well register..." part of the discussion?![]()

Seems a shame to be down there, waking up early the morning of the half anyway, and then merely spectating...Ok. So what I have are 50 Dec points (2026) and 27 Aug points (2026.) So I have enough points for fri-mon in a studio.
I floated the idea of DS3 running the HM. Only ds3. If we decide to go for it, I’ll definitely need someone in (probably) A corral to help him navigate the corrals. And then I’ll just spectate.

I agree. I'm considering the dopey this year but in 2025 I "Only" did the marathon and had a great time.I had ZERO FOMO this year doing just the marathon. We were in town starting on Wednesday, and left the following Wednesday so fully participated in the week. Enjoyed the vibes, celebrated in others races, went to the meetup at HH, etc. I was completely relaxed and very happy I only had one early morning. I have never done dopey though, so there’s that. I did the SS challenge last April and while I had a great time, I’m perfectly content in just picking one or two races on race weekend. It keeps things more manageable -mind, body AND wallet!![]()
I did this for DS when he was 15 and he had fun, he's faster than me so we wouldn't have run together either way?Ok. So what I have are 50 Dec points (2026) and 27 Aug points (2026.) So I have enough points for fri-mon in a studio.

Count me in too. Oh boy, if you thought I had Broadway knowledge and opinions... (Credentials: My family bought into DVC in 1992, and I've bought and sold resale contracts since then. Only DVC I haven't stayed at is the new Fort Wilderness Cabins.)I might need to talk to you soon too ....![]()
If you're going to be down there anyways, is there a reason why you *don't* want to run just one race?Ok. So what I have are 50 Dec points (2026) and 27 Aug points (2026.) So I have enough points for fri-mon in a studio.

I'll be in B, so I could get him 90% of the way there!I’ll definitely need someone in (probably) A corral to help him navigate the corrals.
Lol! Of course! I thought it was impliedCount me in too. Oh boy, if you thought I had Broadway knowledge and opinions... (Credentials: My family bought into DVC in 1992, and I've bought and sold resale contracts since then. Only DVC I haven't stayed at is the new Fort Wilderness Cabins.)

I think there's quite a few of us in B.I'll be in B, so I could get him 90% of the way there!
Yeah, I was not part of that lucky 1% that got in. And here is how weird my brain works - as soon as I saw the e-mail I thought "ok, bummer, but good. Now I have not used up my race registration luck and hopefully it will come through on the 17th instead!"as tough as RunDisney registration seems, it's less random than New York... lots of disappointed folks on the interwebs yesterday.

Thanks for this perspective! I definitely won’t have training FOMO!!So I had this exact conundrum (I posted about it a couple of weeks back). Ultimately I decided on Goofy…
Bottom line - you will likely feel some FOMO if you do Goofy over Dopey. For me, it is ALL concentrated to a few hours on race weekend, though, and there are many benefits to Goofy for me. If you think you will feel FOMO during the training months as described by others above
First order of business, review the detailed run down on registration. It has changed now that queue sharing is no longer easily/available. Skip that info for now.hope we get in. Any strategies to be quick on the draw?
I think London, Chicago and NYC all said they had a record number of people enter the lottery for their races this year. While a somewhat different audience, that also tracks with what we have seen with the Disney races selling out so quick (there is definately a lot of overlap of the circles in the venn diagram of those runners). So while I am sure the GMA spots from last MW have had some impact, I think RunDisney is just seeing the same uptick in interest as the other major races and could also be seeing a number of people who wanted to run NY, Chicago, etc., deciding to try Disney as an alternate which would push the demand even higher.as tough as RunDisney registration seems, it's less random than New York... lots of disappointed folks on the interwebs yesterday.
I'll be in A (so long as there isn't a weird verification issue with my POT that RR refuses to fix)Ok. So what I have are 50 Dec points (2026) and 27 Aug points (2026.) So I have enough points for fri-mon in a studio.

Unless he's fast enough to be out front, just tell him to follow the parade.I floated the idea of DS3 running the HM. Only ds3. If we decide to go for it, I’ll definitely need someone in (probably) A corral to help him navigate the corrals.
