Marathon Weekend 2026

Would be nice if the AH this helps push crowds to MK on Monday, we are hoping to go either Friday or Saturday depending on ADRs (I know it won't but I can dream :)). I'm a huge HEA fan, but the kiddo doesn't like fireworks so much so I just get to watch it on the hotel TV.

Does anyone know where I’d be able to get a custom training plan for Dopey similar to what DopeyBadger does? I’ve gotten my training plans from him previously, but I know he’s been very busy recently.
I’ve looked at standard plans, but they all go up to 20miles, which I know I won’t do during training.

Definitely reach out via DM or email. If you have a previous plan you like, maybe ask if it can be modified for what you're doing now? I have to assume that's faster/easier than creating a new plan, but idk.

Good afternoon RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). RunDisney announced this week that Disneyland races are going on indefinite hiatus once again. Is that going to affect your running plans in the near future? Does it affect any Coast to Coast plans?

SAFD: I ran DL half weekend back in 2016 and 2017, so I've been there, done that, and have the C2C medals to show for it. They were my first ever trips to DL and while some of the park differences were eye opening, the DL races never really got a hold over me. I will say, the DL 10k was hands-down the best of all the RunDisney races on either coast from a park time value perspective, though. I was thinking about making a trip to one of their Halloween weekends because I like the theme a lot, but I guess not. In the end, I'll be sticking to Marathon Weekend for the foreseeable future.

SAFD. I used to have some family out in California so when I was very young we went to Disney Land a few times, but they moved away, so we pick World over Land these days. If they had kept the Star Wars light side/dark side runs between Disneyland and World I think I would of tried to figure it out to do both, but unfortunately missed my shot there, so I kinda doubt I'll make it out to land again unless they do something significantly different than world does. I do really like the Disneyland themes for this year though.

SAFD: I ran the first DL half back, in 2024, because a friend lives in LA and we had been looking for a race to run together. Once I did that, I figured I may as well sign up for the Princess Half to get the C2C, because I knew I'd never travel to CA just for a race again, so it was now or never. I'm glad I did it then.

ITBS update. I had a half this weekend. My plan was to run until it started hurting and walk the rest of the way in. Pain hit at mile 8, sadly. Frustrating because I ran 9 miles the weekend before with zero issues. Sigh. I did PR 5k and 10k though, which I was proud of but not aiming for. I’m taking this week off from running completely, doing strength training, yoga, easy walks, cold plunges. And I have 2 PT sessions with dry needling. Fingers crossed the week off will make a difference.

SAFD: Never been to DL, was very close once, like at the gate and told DH it was too small and I didn’t want to go 🙈 We ended up at the Grand Cal lobby having coffee in the inglenook instead. So no race issues over here!
