Marathon Weekend 2026

I'm going to be a bit sad if there is no loungefly. That and ears are what I always buy. But I'm sure Ill find other ways to spend my money....
It seems like rD is leaning hard into the Lug bags. They've done backpacks with medal holders for the last two race weekends, and they've had Lug crossbody, hip bags and water bottle holders for at least a year now. Wouldn't surprise me if Loungefly phases out.

Been on a long road trip the past few days and just catching up. Seeing the Club rD registration today has me amped up and also nervous for next week.

Starting to plan ahead already just in case I don't get in for Dopey. What is the best charity to try to get a Dopey registration for?

Really want to see a preview of the weekend jacket. I won’t preorder without one but as I only plan to hit the expo on Friday I’d prefer my chances with a preorder….

It depends on what/who you want to support. I have signed up for Dopey with the Scott Carter Foundation both for 2025 and 2026. They still have Dopey bibs available.

Yeah, I've been a spirit jersey every weekend I do, and this is a big disappointment. I do not want patches on my spirit jersey...
Completely agree. I already didn't care for the one with blue sleeves from Marathon Weekend 2023, not sure how I feel about patches.

I have a Proof of Time question. I ran a 2:28:33 Half Marathon at the Princess Weekend, so just under the cutoff for the Half Marathon. I am registering for the Dopey Challenge, which is based on the marathon time. Using the formula that DopeyBadger provided, the equivalent marathon time would be 5:13:49, which is above the cut-off. So, does it matter submitting that POT or just choosing the first time above the cut-off? Or could submitting that POT potentially put me in a lower corral?

Do not submit an invalid POT, there is a chance they will place you in the last corral. Just choose the 5:00 option in the drop down when registering.

oops, maybe I mis-typed. I meant submitting the Half Marathon 2:28 as my POT. Would that make a difference compared to just putting in the first non-POT time in the drop down?

Yes! If you have POT you're pretty much guaranteed to be seeded appropriately to the right corral. Without, a LOT of people choose the fastest non-POT time and inevitably end up spread out across multiple corrals, meaning you could end up several back from where you could be with POT.

To save time during registration, go ahead and pick the fastest non-POT time, but then go back in a few days and change and and submit your POT.

I think the issue is their POT is outside the accepted range of times, and will not convert to a POT eligible corral. The hope is that trackshack will seed people into the appropriate non-POT corral, but I know some people who have submitted ineligible times and have been placed in the back. It's just a risk you have to be willing to take when submitting a POT outside of the range! Since OP is fairly close, it might be okay though.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Now part 2 of question: does having Platinum Club trump all POT? Currently have Gold, but thinking of trying to upgrade when renewals are available.

DH submitted almost the exact time for Goofy 2025… 2:28:xx, and instead of being put in POT corral C (yes it was close), he was put in E. I chose the fastest non-corral time and was put in D.
We went to runner relations and talked to a woman who told us that all runners in D and E had put the first non POT pace and were randomly placed in those two corrals, but by the time they checked his time, D was full so he got E. So I was in D and he was in E. She took his bib and went back “behind the curtain” to confer with somebody, came back and explained that she could not change his corral, and handed back the bib. But as we walked away and looked, the bib had a sticker, not for POT corral, but at least for D so he could move up with me instead of me having to move back.
So, unless you have a time that fits in @DopeyBadger ‘s chart, just go with the pull down estimated time. Close only counts in hand grenades and horseshoes!
(Note that <2:30 is a fine POT for a half only.)

Ooooohhhhhh then ignore my answer! I was thinking of the HM POT cut-off being 2:30 or less.

Thanks, that makes sense.

Platinum has been put in B unless your time is good enough to get you into A. I think they go by whichever is better. Might be something to ask over on the Club thread though.

Wow, that's a good example. With these new drop downs being much smaller time windows, I anticipate a lot of people having to drop back corrals to run with their groups. I imagine a TON of people will select the 5:00 window, way more than the limit, so some could end up in D while others end up in G (making this up) just because they have enough people that put the first time down. So for the lucky people that end up in D, could have a small corral if a lot of people drop back :hyper: Whereas with D being a pretty massive corral in the past few weekends, you'd have a pretty good chance of all being in the same corral based on the drop down. Will be interesting to see what happens.

This was the sort of situation that had me wondering about it all! Thanks for sharing.

So I decided I didn’t want to stress out about registration and wanted to lock it in now. Just signed up for Dopey through SCF. Figured I will be able to raise the $500 pretty easily.

What’s the next steps after registering with them?

I have only done the upfront fundraising, so I’m not sure how the other option works. I think @nancipants will know more.

ETA: I believe once you meet the fundraising minimum and then once runDisney sends registration links to the charity. The charity will send out links for us to register on runDisney’s website - which will be after general registration.

They will send a link to the runDisney registration once they get the links from Disney. Be aware this is usually a few months after registration, so as long as you get an email confirmation from them and Active about paying for your bib, you will be fine. I did up front fundraising last year but the year before I set up an individual fundraising page. I also had people contribute directly to the team page. You just have to raise the required amount prior to Marathon Weekend, I believe.

Thanks!! I got the emails from Active and SCF already. I did the $500 fundraising option. With my baseball community, I should be able to reach that goal in a few weeks.
