I'll second the suggestion for the Celebration Pointe Publix. I used to always go to that one north of MK, but recently discovered the Celebration Pointe one - 1723 Future Wy, Kissimmee, FL 34747

And idiot-proof is ALWAYS good when I am involved and there is navigating that needs to happen I cannot wait to check this out--we might see if we can stop by this one for princess in two weeks--we are staying at the BW but I might want to try it out then. Good morning RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to Super Bowl Sunday! As the football season comes to an end, the spring racing season is just kicking off. For this week's Sundays Are For Disney (SAFD) question, what are your race plans for this spring? Are you indulging in RunDisney's spring season, hitting the local races, or passing on the season (from a race standpoint)?

SAFD: I don't have anything on the calendar for this spring right now. I'm hoping to get back to running in time to run in the Lake Hartwell Dam Race that @Disney at Heart and her husband run in May. Then I'll look for a fall marathon to train for over the summer. By the way, good luck to your Chiefs tonight @The Expert!

SAFD: for the first time in years, I don't have any race on the calendar following Princess. I need to work on healing before I try anything intense again. I also want to concentrate more on base building and strength training, to see if it helps to go into a training cycle feeling stronger.

SAFD: I've got the Springtime Surprise challenge lined up, and then the MN Landscape Arboretum Bud Break 5K on May 4--they're doing a costume contest this year: dress up as your favorite spring flower and you could win a bouquet.

Then it's no races this summer until the Loony Challenge in October.

SAFD: Springtime Surprise, but then that's it in terms of plans. May look into that Lake Hartwell race if it works with my schedule (hard time of year with year-end school and weekend sports events).

SAFD/ I’ll probably pick up a 5K in mid-late April just to stay motivated but I’ve not booked anything yet.

SAFD: I've got the Princess half in two weeks! After that, I haven't actually signed up yet, but there's a local 5K in May that I've got my eye on.

SAFD: Bunny Hop 5k April 12, Lake Hartwell Dam Run 10K May 3, Peachtree Road Race 10K July 4, W&D October 24-26. Any others TBD.

Turns out ATL 10 Miler is Sunday before W&D this year, and since we didn’t get Triple Peach medals until two months late, that race and the ATL Thanksgiving Half may not be on the schedule this year. We usually take all medals off the hanger in January and start hanging the new year’s medals up. Receiving a medal the first week of February that we earned on Thanksgiving day was a bit anticlimactic, but since we received it in 2025, it is proudly hanging up there now!

SAFD: Other than trying to get up to the Lake Hartwell Dam Race, nothing on the calendar for this spring. Will try and be consistent in my easy running and then start working more speed/tempo workouts in as we get to late spring.

SAFD: … May look into that Lake Hartwell race if it works with my schedule (hard time of year with year-end school and weekend sports events).

Being a retired teacher, I understand the end-of-school challenges. I hit up Puppet Runner on FB with an invite to run the dam race. He also says he will check his schedule. Being a drama (I think) teacher, May 3rd may be hard for him too, with spring performances and end of school activities.

SAFD: I entered the lottery for the Broad Street 10 miler - if I get in that will me my POT attempt. I then have the Ottawa 5k, 10k and half at the end of May. Not sure what my goal for those runs will be - will depend on Broad Street. That will be it until the fall.

SAFD: Nothing on the schedule after the Princess challenge. I might hit up a local 5k to get a baseline time before working on speed over the spring/summer.

SS Challenge in April, then my first 50K at Niagara Falls in June. I’m still looking at a May marathon in Maine but am more interested in spending time with DD between end of her semester and study abroad (she will be heading to Argentina and Chile) so anything in May will be scheduled after her plans are set in stone.

Just ran our local Super Bowl 4-Miler today. Then I have Little Rock 5k and Marathon, Springtime Surprise Challenge, and a local half marathon that I hope to use for a new POT. That takes me to early May. Who knows after that??

SAFD: No races on the schedule until the fall. I’m sure something will come along like it always does. A week-long training camp Portugal and a cycling trip across the Alps are giving me something to train for, though.

SAFD: As one of the other Chiefs fans here (when not rooting for the Falcons) I can say that the game sucks wind. Egad, it’s bad.
My (faint) hopes of a 10-miler for a POT are fading fast based on my ramp-up runs (jogs). OTOH, I like the idea of the dam race if I can make that work.
Nothing else comes to mind at the moment; anything for now would be a walking race.

SAFD: I have been adjusting my Disney plans so the Hartwell Dam 10k can happen on May 3. Probably do the dogwood festival 5k in April. @Disney at Heart not sure about Peachtree yet. Was thinking if I do it, we might run together.

On the 11th I will try the NYCM Lottery again… Not holding out a lot of hope for that. I have SS coming up in April. After that, not sure. I am looking at a few trail races this summer but have not registered for anything else.
