Marathon Weekend 2026

This has likely been asked a 100 times already, but for the slackers like myself, do we need to submit a POT tomorrow when we register for the 2026 marathon? Next question is, if I get a better race time (have a half this weekend) I can then update it? Do I update on the runDisney page or do I have to email trackshack? Sorry for asking again if this has been asked already. Its been a while since I have registered for a runDisney event.

Tomorrow you should skip entering a POT and just register. You can go back in later and put in your POT. As long as the race is within the date guidelines, you can enter it any time before the POT deadline. Per RD:

  • Proof of time must be provided from an officially timed race on a USATF certified course reflecting results between January 1, 2023 and July 1, 2025, and must be one of the below listed distances.
You just go into your RD account and choose to edit your information, where you will put in the time, date, race, and an URL to the results.

OK, I'm in the hotel room, and getting my devices on the wi-fi so I can run back up here during the 10 am break tomorrow and register and.... I'm totally spacing on where to start the registration.
Is it on the rundisney.com events page where it says "Registration Opening Soon"?
Sorry for sounding like such a newbie, but I'm totally drawing a blank right now. (I blame it on the air travel and all the food and treats at the reception earlier....)
But I've decided that embarrassment < FOMO.

Yes, right on the main WDW Marathon Weekend page :-)

Maybe you should read the walkthrough for a full refresher before tomorrow? 😁😁

I do miss when POTs were more attainable. I used to push for a POT every year for Princess, and I felt so accomplished when I achieved it. I’m toying with the idea of trying for one again this summer, but it’s still so far out of reach that I don’t want to register for anything yet unless I think I have a chance.

Edit to add: I know it’s relative now to the number of corrals and placement procedures, but I think I just miss the feeling of making it into a certain corral because I worked for it, not just because I put an estimated pace and ended up there.

It’s been 3.5 years since my last registration, so I’m going to refresh my memory again. I’ve been keeping up with the thread, but I love this synopsis for my husband to read over as he will be my Second in Command at our Race Registration Command Post tomorrow. The link you posted isn’t working for me, is this the same one:

The one time I finally got a POT (my third RnR Vegas Half), I was so so so excited! They went and CHANGED THE CUTOFF and I missed it. Never did get to use it. 😭
