Marathon Weekend 2026

MK:

1. Cosmic Rays (always are go to for something "decent" and place to sit and relax).
2. Casey's Corner
3. Pecos Bills
4. Columbia Harbour House (would normally be #1, but the field quality and size was way off for this past MW)

AK:

1. Flame Tree BBQ

Got nothing else. We usually don't hang around long enough for a second meal here.

SAFD:

MK:
1. Columbia Harbor House - for the salmon
2. Pinnochio Villlage Haus - don't come at me for this one hahaha, I have to eat gluten free and I really enjoy their flatbreads
3. Pecos Bill's
4. Snack cart - Mickey Premium bar hahaha because MK is the only place I eat these and have to get one every time I'm there

AK:
1. Satu'li Canteen
2. Tusker House
3. Restaurantosaurus
4. Yak & Yeti

SAFD:

MK
1. Sleepy Hollow - funnel cake please
2. Gaston's - cinnamon roll
3. Pinocchio Village Haus - had every kids dream meal (pizza, french fries, apples, and chocolate milk)
4. The Plaza - its been a long time since we went there, but I remember it being good

AK (These are mosly from memory. Its been a very long time since we've been there.)
1. Flame Tree Barbecue
2. Rainforest Cafe
3. ?
4. ?

SAFD: This turned out to be harder than I originally thought. Mostly because, while I could come up with a general top 4, trying to rank and prefernce one over the other was hard because none of the places jumps out as "must" for me. I also agree with @Herding_Cats that time of year really matters. I enjoy Liberty Tree Tavern but the thought of that heaving food in the million degree summer heat is a big no go for me.

MK:
1) Liberty Tree Tavern
2) Columbia Harbor House
3) Mickey Pretzel cart near Dumbo
4) Skipper Canteen

AK:
1) Tiffin's
2) Satu'li Canteen
3) Flame Tree BBQ
4) Yak & Yeti

SAFD: Really excited to read everyones favourites and try something new on our next trip!

MK - I mostly dislike and avoid MK dining. We'll usually leave the park and head to one of the monorail resorts for food. But if I had to rank them:

1. Aloha Isle
2. Columbia Harbour House
3. Golden Oak Outpost (solely for the beignets)
4. Sleepy Hollow (previously would've been rated number 1, but Disney had to go and ruin the nutella waffle. Every time we walk by it my 7 year old complains about that 😅 kid can hold a grudge)

AK - AK is probably my favourite park for food. It's even better once you add in the options at AKL.

1. Satu'li Canteen
2. Nomad Lounge
3. Harambe Market (only eaten here once so far, but the food was surprisingly good)
4. Harambe Fruit Market (another one that we've only done once or twice, but the whole family enjoyed the corn)

Good morning RunDisney All-Stars! Welcome to this week's edition of Sundays are for Disney (SAFD). Last year one of the most popular SAFD events we held was March Magical Madness, a tournament to decide on the most popular attraction in the parks. It was a lot of fun, so let's do it again! Only this year we'll pick our favorite place to eat in the parks.

This week we'll start building our brackets for March Magical Madness. In the interest of time we'll need to do two parks per week, so this week we'll fill out the Kingdom Bracket with our favorites from the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom. What are your top four favorite eateries in each park? Anything is fair game from snack stands to counter service to sit-down restaurants. Please list them in order and no ties, please.

SAFD:
Magic Kingdom is, by far, my favorite park, but I tend to eat meals at just one place when I'm there. As a result, I've got a strong #1 choice, but then things get tougher to pick. I love the lobster roll at CHH and still enjoy the clam chowder, even if it's gone downhill a bit in recent years.
  1. Columbia Harbour House
  2. Gaston's Tavern
  3. Spring Roll Stand
  4. Pecos Bill's
Animal Kingdom is a little easier for me to rank. Flame Tree Barbecue is a nice oasis of calm in the hectic atmosphere of WDW. Satu'li Canteen has some really tasty options that feel out of the ordinary for theme park fare, too.
  1. Flame Tree Barbecue
  2. Satu'li Canteen
  3. Yak & Yeti Restaurant
  4. Tiffins
Magic Kingdom:
1. Gastons Tavern
2. Peco Bills
3. Aloha Isle
4. Liberty Tree Tavern

Animal Kingdom:
1. Yak and Yeti
2. Flame Tree BBQ
3. Tamu Tamu
4. Harambe Fruit Market - (Corn on the cob)

SAFD:

MK:
1. Crystal Palace - ohmigosh I love their all you can eat
2. Cinderella's (and I haven't forgotten that I still owe someone here some money for that)
3. Plaza for a sandwich
4. Harbour House
5. (HM) Tony's (did a family character breakfast there when the Crystal Palace was being renovated and my 4 year old son met Tigger for the first time, like 20 years ago...)

FWIW: I've probably eaten at nearly every place in the MK over the last 30+ years, so I enjoy places like the Lunching Pad, but of late I try to avoid the burger/fries or heavily breaded chicken tenders type stuff.
AK:
1. Harambe (I think that is where the DW and I had lunch in 2023)
2. Tusker House (?) (I think we did a breakfast there appx 20 years ago....)
3. Dunno
4. Dunno

Sad fact: I've never had a Dole Whip. Not sure where they are sold in the parks and haven't seen them when I've been where I'd want one. (My preference is one of the all-you-can-eat breakfasts and then I don't eat again until much later in the day). OTOH, The Ice Cream parlor on Main Street led me to buying Edy's ice cream here at home.

And besides on the Boardwalk, where else did you guys say had good pizza? I need to know for when I'm there with my son.

So, do we think we're getting artwork dropping here in the next 20-30 min? Since it's usually around 10am. Just me impatiently checking rundisney as I procrastinate getting anything done even though we leave for Princess tomorrow afternoon and I definitely need to be getting stuff done...

I think they should be dropping princess t shirts today. Do they usually do double posts?

I think last year they dropped princess shirts the day before the expo, which would be tomorrow. I'm only basing getting marathon artwork on the fact that they typically do themes 2 weeks before club registration though.
You’re right - I don’t know how but I thought tomorrow was the expo 🤦‍♀️

Was wondering if they'd decide to release themes next week with Princess Weekend coming up, definitely seems like things are trending in that direction.

SAFD: Fun!! Thanks for doing this again @camaker!

I am vegan so that affects my choices...

MK:
1) Skipper Canteen
2) Pecos Bills
3) Aloha Isle
4) I can't think of a 4th...we often leave and go to a monorail resort to eat, but we used to love CHH until they tweaked their menu so I will say that!

AK:
1) Satuli - the best counter service in all of WDW!
2) Thirsty River :)
3) Harambe market
4) I will say Nomad lounge even though I have yet to go there because it is somewhere I have wanted to go for a long time!
