I think that’s what I have in my cart.I got a pair of Anker MagSafe charging banks. They’re very light and stick to the back of your phone.

Those are great. That’s what I use for park days.I got a pair of Anker MagSafe charging banks. They’re very light and stick to the back of your phone. I just got a new phone so I’m not planning to bring one, but it’s my go-to park charger now.
My iPhone 13 Mini lasted for the entire marathon last year. I can't remember if I was streaming or just playing music on the device. I usually run without my phone since my Apple Watch works as a phone and can stream to my headphones, but it won't last a half marathon on it's own. As long as my phone is nearby, it will go the distance. For streamers, both Apple Music and Spotify allow you to download your playlist so you can avoid live streaming during the race. I always have my running playlist downloaded.
Haven’t thought about battery because I’d been using an iPhone Pro Max for several years and the battery lasts forever. Went back to a smaller phone this year so I might test the battery on my next long run. Don’t like the idea of having to carry a battery pack.
So how did the corral release work? Did they let all of the first one empty before they let the second one out or do they open all of them at the same time and then it becomes the luck of the draw for where you might actually end up? Could you be at the front of the third or fourth one and still end up near the front of the corral in the starting chute?A thought on pre-race stuff (character pics, meet-ups, etc.: if they do the new corral thing like W&D*, it cuts down on how much time you have for pre-corral activities, assuming you want to be in the earliest corral available to you. Just something to keep in mind!
*For those who missed it, the new system looked like this:
Th larger corral letters were physically divided into multiple corrals, barricaded off from one another. The first physical corral for a letter opened while the others remained closed. Once that first corral was full, it was closed and no one else was allowed in. The next physical corral for that letter was opened and filled before closing and opening the next physical corral, and so on. So if your assigned letter had 4 physical corrals, and you wanted to be in the first one, you really needed to get into it shortly after it opened. I watched the first corral of D fill to capacity in about 15ish minutes. I also saw a bunch of folks assigned to C end up in E because by the time they got there, all of C and D was full and closed.
(Once you were in a corral, you were allowed to leave and come back, but had to get a password from the CMs guarding the entrance and had 10 minutes to return.)
I was at the back of the 2nd corral of 4 D corrals, so this was my experience from there…So how did the corral release work? I think I have the same one, bought online from them last year. One of the tension elastics for the bottles is a tiny bit looser than the other, but I haven’t lost a bottle yet. Simple enough to fix with a sewing kit when it becomes necessary.View attachment 924258
I just got a new running belt from sierra. I have been on a search for a smaller one so it does not get in the way of my bows. Super happy.
Man I remember the late 2010s when people had to scramble one year for last minute changes because of the deep freeze combined with snowy weather. Really hope it doesn't become to bad for the NE peopleFor East Coast friends, here’s a weather forecast to keep an eye on for travel to MW:
https://www.washingtonpost.com/weather/2024/12/27/winter-storm-risk-eastern-snow-forecast/
“The first chance for a storm could come between Jan. 5 and 7.
The coming pattern shift may be “by far the most favorable look we’ve had in years for moderate or even major snowstorms” for the Mid-Atlantic”
Oh boy.
Oh… I don’t know how to deal with the lack of sun LOL..For anyone wondering why the Michigan people are so anxious for nice (warm) weather.... here's an article about our winter sunshine from this past January. When I was a kid I had a cousin who would track sunny days on her calendar in the winter. That was days with an hour of full-sun and little-to-no clouds. And one year we were in the low teens in mid-February (starting in December.)
my advice: never spend a winter (our summer) in lima.Oh… I don’t know how to deal with the lack of sun LOL..
I moved from sunny Dallas to Detroit last month… and many co-workers have warned me about the cold but mostly about the grey sky as it can be depressing for some…
Fortunately a couple of weeks ago I flew to Colombia (where I was born) for the holidays… then from here to Orlando, then 2 wkks in MI and Off to Dumbo coast to coast LOL… so this year I might have scape from it
What I have not done well is staying away from my favorite home foods (!) … I might have put a couple of extra (on top of already extra) pounds… but life is now, right? LOL
I've been known to say to myself "stop slumping, idiot"....but when I was out for my run today, I reminded myself to "check in" with my running form--make sure that I had my shoulders back, my head level (those are a couple of my particular form flaws). It's easy to do during a race at the mile markers. Good running form can melt away when one gets tired. It never hurts to monitor those few things that might be falling off as your race progresses.
I can’t read the article since not a subscriber but oh man! I want snow this year but not when I have to drive through it! Only good news might be that my kids get snow days so less days missing! For East Coast friends, here’s a weather forecast to keep an eye on for travel to MW:

I’m going to try to remain blissfully ignorant of the weather too. T+D was 157 during my 30km run this morning. Whatever Mother Nature throws at us in Orlando can’t be as rough as that.As for weather, I'm only doing the 10k, so I get to remain blissfully ignorant until the night before when I pack my bag. I have some extra windbreakers I may bring along in case anyone needs one.
and to use the river water in the water fountains....Yeah, that’s correct, Kali typically closes each January for an annual refurb.
I missed the 2010 Ice Capades, but in 2011 after the marathon, I called my dad to let him know I had finished ok, and he asked how I was going to get home. Do what??Man I remember the late 2010s when people had to scramble one year for last minute changes because of the deep freeze combined with snowy weather. I'm sorry. Wunderground is showing the 10th and the 11th with lows of 36 and 35?!
