SAFD: The thing I like most about running is that, unlike much of life, it's pretty straightforward and easy to measure. You do appropriate training, consistently, and overall you get better. I also enjoy learning about running and training, testing out ideas, and talking about running (mostly on here
). Basically it's a good match for how my brain works
Side benefit: being in good shape means you can do things like jump up and down while screaming all the lyrics to "Mr. Brightside" at your friend's wedding and not even feel out of breath 
Also I really like food and when I'm training I get to eat a lot more
